We lived in a small town of 1500 back in the 50's. I had a 1942 "45" flat head. The only other Harley in town was a K model. It was so cool. I was 14 years old in 1955 when I traded stuff for the Harley plus $20.00. The flat heads are so unique. At 83 years old, I ride a 99 Softail Custom. But I still remember those flat heads. K-Model flathead. Elvis Presley famously owned a K-Model.
They made these for just a few years, last year being 1956. Then in 1957 they threw an overhead valve motor in it and called it the "Sportster".
I'd love to have that K. But would put a CV carb on it and put the Linkert in a box to save.
