Well, I doubt Momin was exceptionally powerful in and of himself. He sounds more like an artificier, his strength being in channelling the force through his creations rather than the way most Sith do. _Someone_ had to create the mystical structures with magical powers, after all.
Wow Momin has an amazing backstory. He seems like such an interesting and mysterious character. I would love to one day see a story with him in the spotlight. To see many different adventures he's has while pursuing his art.
TheScauldron Fan Although it’s technically possible that Momin torched another world, as “still on Mustafar” could be referred to five minutes ago when the mask was on an Imperial officer, I get the feeling that, despite a probable inability to see, Momin is probability still aware of the passage of time, so Mustafar is most likely the planet he torched. This is a pretty major retcon from the Legends explanation for Mustafar’s fiery surface. So yeah, it’s probably like Lothal but much worse.🔥
And I'm a few minutes I already have a new favorite pre movie Sith Lord! Most would using a super weapon would simply blow the place up and leave it without any trace, but momin had full intent to perserve the suffering of Malious, and make a monument to it. I do wonder how the Sith continued if momin never had an apprentice, it doesn't seem like he predates bane.
He pretty much had to predate Bane, considering the Jedi thought the Sith were extinct once the rule of two got put into action. But its hard to tell just how long he had been around before Bane.
This is my favorite canon Vader comic so far for certain. Momin's philosophies made him a profound character almost immediately after his dialogue began. His views on human emotion, that fear and pain are the "purest" because it's what we feel automatically at our most basic level of consciousness, and his view that the role of "master" never suited him because he never intended to stop growing and learning - these things really demonstrate the narrative that many Siths were scholars, scientists, and philosophers over the centuries, even if they mostly sought power and to inflict pain onto others. The cliff hanger at the end is great too. I can't wait to see where this goes with Padme and why she isn't seen in later years (something had to go horribly wrong I bet).
@@BlazeTube626 I was more referring to if he had been in Legends as we know little about that era in Canon, by which I mean, original Sith Empire, Vitiate's/SWTOR Empire or the New Sith Empire set up by Darth Ruin in Legends which was destroyed in 1000bby

*Reply to Logan Wilson:* He appears to originate prior to the Rule of Two, since he eliminated his master, but chose not to take an apprentice of his own. The lack of a Darth title for himself or his master is also evidence supporting this. However, he may not be as far back as I thought they'd set him, since the lightsabers we see from his era are fairly modern. Also, the masks the Sith wear, as well as those of the Acolytes bring the design of Canon Darth Bane to mind. I'd guess Momin lived some relatively short period before Darth Bane established the Rule of Two after the rest of the Sith fell. He might inhabit the same part of the timeline that was known as the 'Draggulch Period' in the Expanded Universe, now known as Legends.
My guess is that he was around during the time of the Sith Empire since he never bothered to take on an apprentice and thus had no one to pass his teachings to in order to keep the Rule of Two going
Since it's now both been shown and stated in this comic series that there are more than just two Sith in the time when Momin lived, the Rule of Two-era is definitely... ruled out... And because Sith history is so vague so far in canon, it's hard to guess the exact period. I'd say it had to be after the Great Scourge of Malachor, since they're obviously not crossguard-sabers. But even then, I wouldn't buy into that. Because I doubt EVERYONE used crossguard-sabers at the time anyway.
Guys you are forgetting the obvious reason why this is *prior* of rule of two: In the Phantom Menace, the Jedi believed that the Sith where gone for good, with no official sight of them. In this comic, the two Jedi survive and bring the mask which would it be hidden in the Sith Artifacts section of the Jedi temple.
*Reply to Claudio Moita:* A good point. The reason I hesitated to list it as evidence was due to it appearing at the end that the Jedi Apprentice was possibly going to be the first to fall under the mask's influence. This caused me to wonder how many detours it took before the mask was sealed in the temple vault, by which time the truth of it's origin could have been lost. However, for all the previous stated reasons, I'm in agreement with you that it takes place prior to the Rule of Two.
