I totally missed out on this whole thing but I'm glad to have found such an excellent community with hardcore wow. Let's keep pushing forward! Again and again!
Really cool idea, will definitely follow along now and then to see how it goes. Also would love to see a hardcore speedrun again sometime in the future, perhaps a race to see who can first kill Edwin VanCleef on hardcore mode, I think that could be an awesome and interesting challenge.
“Soon. TM Between the bad decision to upgrade to DaVinci 17 and not being able to downgrade back to 16 without losing my projects, and D2R being out, video making is slow going atm…” I’ll save everyone else the time I spent to pause/play and catch it 2:43.
Really cool idea! Love it! I think the majority of the raiders will be end up beeing only streamers (since they got more time for farming than normal people), but at least we can interact helping them
Maybe, but like I said, most of the them have other commitments. If I were a betting man, and I am, I'd say at least half of the initial raid team will be non streamers.
It is so easy to edit a video of your death to make it look like a dc death. All you need to do is cut the frame while your still alive an look healthy and then cut in the disconnect screen.
Hey man, i am making a video/intro for the hardcore challenge and was wondering if you are okay with me using the Ragnaros footage from your video? it would be a tremendous help.
We need hardcore servers, to many ways to cheat, to many things that need to be fixed in the game to make this a smooth experience. Also blizzard should have their own dc and grief death appealing system.
@@Knics_ like I said I'm down and I'll hit up the disc later today. I will have to say we are going to need a LOT more than 80 players for even a shingle attempt. MC trash is the true boss and the outlook is G R I M M.
Most likely, but there will be exceptions. Depending on your role, you may be swapped out for certain fights. A few ranged will likely be swapped for melee on Sulf and Domo for kicks.
The hardcore challenge is really a solo self found ruleset. To see if you can get to 60 (70 for tbc) without dying or getting any help. Hence those rules.
@@Knics_ Then why is Duo and even Trio allowed? Seems like the easy way out.. Any normal circumstance where you'd die you have a bunch of extra saves thrown your way from 2 other players/classes... I love the whole HC idea, but i hate that duo/trio is allowed.
@@sirnicholibraden86 yes and no, sure having 2 or 3 ppl will def make certain things easier, but the chance of death actually does dbl or triple. Since if one person dies, the group dies, youre now relying on your partners to not mess up. Ive run duo myself multiple times, and everytime it wasn't me that died. My partner pulled extra without realizing, or wasn't paying attention to hp. So yea, I can understand the argument, but its still just as challenging as solo. I'd say even more so.
Really hard to want to participate when there is only going to be 1 raid group that will be filled with streamers. And u can pretend that when they die they are out but they will instantly lvl another 60 in less than a week if they dont already have a spare 60 or 2 already lvld and ready to go as backups to the main. If they decided to do 2 or 3 raid groups im sure many many more would participate.
This is a major concern for a lot of ppl, and yes you will have a shot. And I say this as someone who was chosen to be an officer within the guilds. We had a long meeting about everything and this point was brought up. It kinda goes against the idea of mortal characters when someone dies, and then 5 mins later, they're back in the raid with another toon of the same class.
@@Knics_ oh wow well that actually makes a lot of sense and i can see what you mean, well cool... i could see them getting back in a few attempts after or whatever tho that would also makes sense but ya thats a good way to get some people funneled in 🤙🤙💯💯
It's a cool idea but you will want to get the non r2r hardcores to join at least. The rules are tedious when getting to 60 is rough already. Splitting the hardcore community is not what you want when the supply is scarce.
Seems like incredibly wayy too much recording is necessary for this to prove you didnt use ah / trading / etc ill need an extra harddrive just to save all these videos
lets be honest, im a big fan of hardcore, but this is gonna be nearly impossible. at least imo, people will die at lvl 60 once, tilt and start playing tbc again. (not talking about the countless deaths before 60 lol ) nobody got time to waste another 3 or 4 weeks+ of his spare time, im not talking bout people who "make money" playing road to rag like streamers etc. It's gonna be fun watching though. Hoping for the best.
Rag can’t be done in a full HC group. I’m pretty confident on that. You need a carry in a non HC group. Also, why do any of the old rules even matter. They can’t be enforced. The only thing that should matter is if you have the HC buff or not
Well when the day comes, be sure to watch to see if you are right. We honestly believe we can, and we have the knowledge and leadership to pull it off.
@@Knics_ hi. I edited my comment as you was replying. You will need hundreds of characters to get thru MC. Specially with the new difficultly. I will deffo be watching closely and participating. But I won’t be playing by all the old rules
@@johngear1415 all good. The old leveling rules are staying as is just because its actually easier than creating new rulesets. There would be too much confusion. The new 60 ruleset works because the original hc rules didn't have anything for after 60 other than you're immortal now. As for the soul of iron buff, Blizzard has already told us that if you die to dc or grief, which can normally be allowed to continue with appeals in HC, it won't be reinstated. So theres a good chance that we will have players who don't have the buff going into the raid because they died due to DC.
@@Knics_ I suppose it’s Up to the player if they continue without the buff at zero chance of the achievement. Without the achievement you get zero recognition I personally wouldn’t be happy with that.
I used to like the hardcore idea nad even tried it out. But this whole road to rag thing doesn't seem ver well thought through and the people seriously attempting it don't seem the brightest of the bunch either
The rules are stupid it’s my only issue with it. Impossible to enforce no AH etc. Litterally the only thing that can be enforced is the most important rule, no deaths cos of the buff. I just don’t understand why any other rule matters.
Best video covering road to rag to date thanks so much for making this man
Any news on Road to Ragnaros on a EU server?
Great video for next fresh! going to be some of the most fun I've ever had RALLY THE TROOPS!
A great video, really does a nice job of explaining everything in a comprehensive manner. I'm really looking forward to the Road to Ragnaros event.
Amazing video! Can't wait for Classic FRESH Hardcore :)

I cant find anywhere what server hardcore ppl play on in season of mastery
Such a cooperative Kargoz-style HC/1L leveling and raiding challenge is the most RP, true war effort, event I've ever heard of in WoW

How much trust do you need in your raid group to do Baron Geddon

This is awesome, hope i can hit 60 and join, if anything depending on time restraints ill maybe be able to be a crafter or bank
Will be interesting if fresh classic incorporates the "plus" element into it
Well i spoke too soon. Fresh plus out now

It's so cool, interessed to do it like a craft aid. too scared to enter in MC with the possibility of diying...
I'm down to do this
What realm is this happening on for NA? I can't find that info anywhere
Us west Obsidian edge server. Its on classic era, change realm, and select season of Mastery servers.

We have the addon, most of us are recording, and it's also very merit based. So far I haven't seen anyone cheating on obsidian edge
So the rules of hardcore change when you are level 60? Where are the rules explained for this?
Will this ever be open to those that only did the ironman mode if you guys can't get enough recruits?
the event is open to anyone who wants to participate. just gotta follow the rules.
Awesome. I dont have more to say.
I’m in ! Gunna check out the website and discord
Welcome aboard!

Yea, they are on Quel'sarrar.
Look at 1 back up raider ninja pulling half raid
Once you're in the raid are you in the raid until you die? Would feel shitty if a streamer was always knocking on the door for your spot
