- You ask, I deliver ;) When I uploaded my "recreating a photo of my historical twin video", lots of people asked me to recreate a photo of Marie Doro too. Either because they think she's the girl whose photo I recreated in that video, or becasue they think she also looks like me. I thought it would be a fun challenge either way, so in today's video I try recreating a photo of Marie Doro... From 1902. Enjoy watching!

My name is Lucy, I'm a Dutchwoman here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.
On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies, tv shows or history and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!
I really enjoy diving into history to find out how women went about their beauty and dressing rituals in days past. Vintage and history-themed videos are my little passion project.
You'll find a bit of lifestyle content here as well, ranging from cozy chats over a cup of tea (my beloved Tea Time videos) to personal vlogs and home & interior videos.
Enjoy browsing!
Love,
Lucy

The hair went from mad scientist to fancy 1900s lady real quick
I bet she would have never guessed someone would be recreating her look 100 years later.
Have you considered recreating your great grandma photo? It’ll be interesting to see the similarity or something like that
I think that would be too modern tbh
That's a lovely idea.
i still have my great grandma lmao, i visit her every week
@@audreymai2773 only if your great grandparents aren't that old. My grandpa was born in 1899 🤷♀️
@@n111sha My great grandma is 96 and still driving :o
Marie it's very bold of you to do a side by side with yourself. Watch out for vampire hunters that's all I'm saying. lol
Where do you find these photos?! She looks exactly like you!! This is so bizarre. I have yet to come across someone that looks like me.
I've found a couple of people who look just like me, but I've changed a lot in between so they don't look like me at the same time
So how many lives have you had? 😄 so amazing!
Some One omg yes I was thinking that
Me too
Lol it’s common knowledge all the historical RUclipsr’s are immortal vampires
Who on earth give this adorable girl a dislike???!!!
Cuz' she's great... no one will be insecured when you actually nailed it
Maybe this dislike is from people who can’t do their hairstyle like hers.
Wow! What a great recreation! I do this too. Except I use the period correct cameras and film to get an authentic feel to the photo. This was right up my alley. Good stuff.
oh my goodness!!!! you look EXACTLY like her. i genuinely would believe it if you said the original was a photo of you lol. amazing job!!!
Love your videos Loepsie, I'm an eye care professional with a vintage hair hobby. "Buldgey" eyes are proptosed or to have a proptosis. Glad to be able to teach you something as I've been learning from your videos for months :)
I love these recreations so much! I hope you find many more photos to recreate and this becomes a full fledged series. I want to try it myself, but alas, I look like no one worth photographing back in the day. Lol.
Omg!!!! A while ago I sent you a DM with this exact picture and suggested you should recreate it because the similarities are uncanny!!! I’m so happy you did!!!!!!💖💖💖💖
Prominent. She has prominent eyes.
Sunny lol yes prominent. I like bulky better however. It’s not common
Actually you do look like this woman.. even with your hair up and your makeup not finished
My photographer friend and I did a series of turning our friends into old Hollywood celebrities. I did makeup and styling. We did Marylin Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, and I posed as Julie Andrews in Victor/Victoria. It was really fun to do and to see the final photos was really cool.
hello, are the photos available to see somewhere on the internet? it sounds like it looks really nice!
You should make this a series!! Just recreate old photos it would be cool ❤❤
With frizzy, wild hair you remind me of Bellatrix Lestrange. Have you ever thought about cosplaying as her? It would probably be easy for you.
Edit: I made this comment before the moment in the video, where you yourself said it's reminiscent of Helena Bonham Carter.
That is what I thought ! I was literally searching for this comment lol
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Both of them are really reminiscent of Helena Bonham Carter. She could probably do any of her characters as cosplays and pull it off really well.
Great job! It actually took me a moment to figure out which picture was you at the end of the video!
The part where you're brushing your curls made me think of a suggestion for a beauty beacon of fiction: Rachael from Blade Runner (my favorite movie btw :p).
Wow she does look like you! Eerily similar! I also think the photo of the young girl was Marie Doro, or at least a relation of hers. The two have almost identical bone structure and her nose is super similar.
The version you did was really awesome, I love these videos!
Yeeeees! Glad you're continuing the photo re-creation series! You did a great job yet again!
I actually did think she was you in the thumbnail :0
Well done! I love this and the first one you did - you should consider making this a series, you could recreate photos of women (famous or not) through the decades - I would think ones right through to the 40s & 50s would be really fun to see and do.
ya so this just got spookier and spookier. its really like youre doing a tutorial on how to achieve the look you did that day :/
You look like a Tim Burton character come to life and I am beyond jealous. So pretty😍
I think you did a fantastic job! I love watching your recreations 😊
Ok, when I saw the introduction picture , I honestly thought it was you in the historical photo. You so look exactly like her! WOW!!
Lucy, I thought Marie was you! You are the spitting image of her! Beautifully done.
Yes!! I really hope this becomes a series!
Yes! I love your recreations! They always come out so accurate and beautiful. I am so inspired.
This is simply so refreshing to watch. I have always had this strange fascination with the different historical periods and it's so good to see others with the same interest. ❤️
I absolutely adore these videos and I adore you and your talent! Few women today could even fathom doing historical pieces like this, but I am so happy someone appreciates the old hairstyles too!!!
I love this picture of Marie Doro. In many ways it kinda looks like a picture/pose someone would do for a modern magazine. Interesting, showing that people have always thought in the same way, I can so imagine that on a mag cover today (with modern clothing of course)!
I love your channel!! I hope you make this into a series❤️❤️❤️❤️
Girl I enjoy your spirit and hard work that you put into your videos, this recreation look was stunning
I was Googling images of Seneca Indians looking for some historical photos that might shed light on my family's background and I ended up staring into the most beautiful face of a woman from the 1800's who could've been my mother. I wish she had been alive to see the resemblance. Keep these videos coming because they're not only cool but educational.
You... actually... did it?! OMG 😍💕💞
Edit: TYSM for the 💓. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought you looked a lot like Marie Doro!
I did too! I came across a pic of her on instagram and I tagged her! So cool other people thought so too :)
It’s really cool how you recreated her deep set eyes with eyeshadow I would never have thought of that!
*Please make this a series!* They're sooo goooood! :D
I’m binging your videos and these recreations are uncanny! She’s literally your doppelgänger. 😍👏🏻
From Ghost Myrtle to Bellatrix, wow what a conspiracy.
Fun! Can’t wait to see who you find next!!! So many dopplegangers out their for everyone (supposedly). Apparently we all have something like 5 look alikes out their in the world, or some number close to that. If i remember the story i heard correctly.
Loved , liked and subscribed! Well done! It looks great! I love old photos, maybe I will have a go myself, love from South Wales U.K. 😊
Oh my goodness this was so cool!❤ You both looked so alike !
That Little Mole calendar on your desk tho... love it!
I haven’t seen much of your videos in a while but I’m glad I came back, I’ve missed them and your voice, it’s so pleasant :3
Holy smokes! You looked like her already, even before the makeup and hair!!! Great job on recreating this! ❤️❤️
Wow!!! Amazing job! You nailed this! And you’re both just gorgeous ❤️
I never thought of Bobbie pins when using a curing iron. And just wrapping the hair around instead of biting it. I will try this ideas. Ty. Your picture looks good. Did you ever try a picture of a relative? At times people have said I looked like my grandmother
Omg when you were talking to the camera after you finished your hair I just kept looking at the picture of her and then back at you and I honestly couldn’t tell a difference! It was like she was back to life!!
I’m so glad you did another one of these!
These videos are so fascinating to watch, I’d love to see more videos like this. Maybe you could use that Google feature where you take a picture of yourself and it would match your facial features to a portrait or photo from history.
love these kind of videos 💖
Please make this a whole series you look so beautiful.💞
Loved this video, it was a really fun watch! I'm sure someone else will have pointed it out in the comments but the "turtleneck" is actually just the cravat she's wearing being wrapped around her neck once before dropping down the front of her shirt :)
I told my brother as you were doing your makeup that this was going to look like Helena Bonham Carter, which would be fantastic, & then you said it. This is the best thing ever & now I want to go do this with my hair.
I love how you are so talented! Great video. Very interesting to watch! ☺
I love your channel so much!
I think it’s amazing. Recreating a vintage photo can be challenging. I love vintage photos, some are a little creepy, but you used a lot of ingenuity and creative talent. I thought you did a good job, I almost wanted to die when you frizzed out your hair ( I’m one of those people who go to great lengths to make my hair not so frizzy ) but all in all it’s beautiful.
I really love your channel, it is very cool and i love all the vintage looks, the Beauty beacons series, all of it, i am a bit obsess with ancient fashion era, and your channel is perfect for that!
You did a pretty good job at this!
I really love these videos on your channel, really really. 😍😍
I love all your videos! Because of your tutorials i can now braid my hair.
Make it series, i freaking loved previous video of you recreating your twin.
You’re truly an artist. This is so cool to watch . She could be ur realitives
Aww, i really love when you do these makeovers! When you asked if there is a positive word for bulgy? Bird-like? I honestly relate though, my coworker said I had big ass eyes and I didn't really know how to respond. Anyways, love this video and great job!! :D
Did you choose vintage, or did vintage choose you? You do it amazingly!!
*casually watching all of these because they’re high-key really interesting* oops
Lol the music at 2:14 was like nockoff Harry Potter music... I loved it!
I really enjoyed this , you did a great job
OBSESSEDDDD WITH THIS HAIR :0 and whole look
It looks amazing!
Beautiful love it! 😍
The hair was the best part in this video!
Great job! Please do more! Love what you created!
Wonderful job, Lucy! what is the pic editor that you have used again? thank you for sharing this with us!
This is so amazing. I think you are being too hard on yourself. I think in taking the picture yourself, you had more tension in your body posture and your face. For a second I thought the picture of Marie Doro was you.
Love this video. And love you too Lucy...
Your hair is so beautiful and thik 😍😍😍💕
What is the name of the photo editor you used?? 🙏🏻
It sounded like you said “ithicky”, but I didn’t yield any results when I googled that.
Jessica Pinkstone it’s ipiccy lol
Yes, you do look like her...great job!
I love these so much
Looove the hair!
Amazing! The eyes look the most similar to hers. 👏
She actually is ur historical twin. 😨😱 waoow. And we can understand that there was no one to click perfect pics for u but even than we were able to see u creating that whole look and believe me u really looked like her. 👏👏👏👍
You have such a attemporal beauty 💜 You two look so much alike
I love the hair!!
this woman is so beautiful, I love the photograph
Hiii♥i really love your videos♥
Has anyone ever told you that you look like Lorde? Gorgeous!
Love these series! I hope you wil make them a serie 😊
Oh my gosh, I use Ipiccy every time I edit photos, as a amateur photographer. I personally think it is simple to use and achieve nice editing. Also I love your videos!
Great job!
Omg twinning just found u on RUclips love what u do n your energy is amazing where r u from luv ?
Gorgeous!!!!!
And again I wish this would happen to me. Finding my historical twin.
I am in love with your channel.
What website did you use to recreate this photo? It had so many options!
Your channel is so interesting ❤️🌼🌼
I'm a year late, sorry. But I had to tell you, you look EXACTLY like Marie Doro. O.O That is so cool that you have a twin from another time period! :D
You're so prettyyyy!!😍💓
Great job! 😍
