And they can't boldly say that for nothin, they can tell that because based on what they saw and experience..
It's true. Companies are spoiling the idols, they think they will get away with doing the bare minimum and also their fans will always defend mediocrity 😒
What she said is true. Especially today, idols lipsync like crazy it's even crazier that some of them can't lipsynch properly. Back then, almost every single music program was sang live. It was easy for companies to know who lacked what. New debut idols would watch their performances with their managers, dance trainers, and vocal trainers they said it as it is. The trainee selection and process was more cut throat before Especially for the OG big 3 cause they will cut you off the moment that you fail the monthly tests that they do or even just gaining weight will be am enough reason to cut off a person from the trainee program. The Management was so strict and unbending that if the relative of an idols passes away they will be there for the service but the day after the burial idols would resume their schedule. Management back then didn't care if you were depressed or having thoughts about taking your own life idols will still do their jobs. Companies taking the initiative to protect their idols well being is something I'm glad that changed.
I think rly, the games have changed. Like there is a focus on perfectionism now that has made companies focus on performances and looks over singing live, and the vocal training of popular groups can be hit and miss. But it seems more like her work ethic and standards have shifted from many other groups standards. As I've tried to find more groups I enjoy, I've been trying to find more with strong live vocal skills. I'd love to hear what groups she things are doing well. If y'all have vocal groups your proud of plz rec and shout them out!!
I don’t know if this is what she’s talking about but a lot of idols get hate for overshadowing others when it’s someone else’s turn so when they aren’t singing they don’t use facial expressions and try to become more of a background dancer to let others shine
Idols these days are coddled by their fans a little too much , they wouldn't even let people criticize them for being lazy when it's obvious they are !!!
to be fair, the word she used was closer to "theyre so relaxed" not exactly lazy. she wasnt hating explicitly she was saying that the culture now is different because technicals in kpop is also different.
Well, facts from stable singers. When visual position was introduced in 3rd gen, I thought was so ridiculous (for me). I cannot hear their faces. (I stanned Kpop in 2004 and honestly, visuals is just a bonus cause how ridiculous the style were (esp yg and sm groups - - WG was around 2006) . Kpop now is over-saturated they are more performance - dance focus than vocals. Respect to idols/grouos that are really good singers and dancers.
I don't get it, fan cams actually exposed more who is slacking off or are not doing well, especially when it was new alot of idols were call out because of their fan cams ex. Jennie, Lia, Irene etc. if more they are force to give it all even if the camera from the official performance aren't on them. This generation of idols had alot of flaws but being lazy especially in dancing is not one of them. Just because a senior idol say something doesn't mean we always had to agree with them she doesn't make any sense
Because back in the day if you dont dance hard or make an impact on stage you wont get proper screen time. People will not notice you ergo no one will know you. And they can't boldly say that for nothin, they can tell that because based on what they saw and experience..
@grettapricilla9685so we can't disagree on her opinion?
There's only a few groups now that I can still feel the 'perfect idol' presence on stage thru video like I used to see in majority 2nd gen idols
It's true. Companies are spoiling the idols, they think they will get away with doing the bare minimum and also their fans will always defend mediocrity 😒
Not all companies spoiling their idols and even if companies spoiling their idols, that idols still work hard
She’s not wrong!
Idols these days are coddled by their fans a little too much , they wouldn't even let people criticize them for being lazy when it's obvious they are !!!
THE OG KPOP ARTIST AND PERFORMERS
THE 2ND GENERATION
to be fair, the word she used was closer to "theyre so relaxed" not exactly lazy. she wasnt hating explicitly she was saying that the culture now is different because technicals in kpop is also different.
Whereas today every member gets to have a fancam meaning whether you dance hard or not you can still have a "special" screen time even if you dont do it properly or lazily. People can still notice you if your fan cam come on
@@Noturprob123not really, If that was the case Jihyo, Seulgi and Yunjin would had more views than Sakura, Joy and Tzuyu. The uneven exposure still exists in fancam era.
@@OblivionZXZI think this situation falls into people's preference towards visuals.
And we also need to remember that there are 9 members in her group. Her perception about hardwork in performing can be different from groups with less members as she actually need to do something back then to grab the spotlight
If Tiffany really said this, I think she means that people don't have to work hard to earn the attention of cameramen.
@@OblivionZXZ im not saying they dont try hardest But they dont need to fight for screentime. nowdays The views count based on popularity of the members. last time, no screentime, who r yussss...
The older generations are definitely disappointed with the new ones. The drive simply isn't the same.
Tiffany said, not that long ago, that idols today look just as polished as the ones in Gen 2. I'm a SONE, been one since IGAB era, and I'm disappointed. And I don't say this to be a hater, but I remember when she was constantly called lazy for being the weakest dancer in SNSD. Being called lazy hurts and she knows this. There's nothing wrong with not being a natural dancer, but she never really improved. Even if she was the best dancer in SNSD, if you've been out of an active group for so long it's easy to pick at other groups; you're not under the same pressure that they are, at least not anymore. Again, sad and disappointed because I love Tiff.
If it hurt her she wouldn't work hard for it
Her statement was apparently taken out of context, she didn't say that current idols are lazy
@semnome-sp8zr When I watched the full clip, it does seem a little less serious than what articles are conveying, so I admit fault for that ✋️
Feels like it's just people trying to create drama for clicks (the articles)
@nouhedg4035 I mean you can be doing what you love and still be hurt by haters, but I respect your perspective 🙌
@@mkay0630 I mean Tiffany is known for being one of the strongest idols to exist , nothing could break her , even after the 2017 scandal , she left Korea , saw therapists and came back just as strong as before ... that's why I said what I said.
She was hated her entire career as a kpop idol , I still remember back in the days some forums and sites were made specifically to hate her , telling her to follow her mom and kill herself. The forum was literally titled Tiffany follow your mom and they were collecting votes on who agrees to that ... it was a nightmare !!!
did she lie tho?????????????
That doesn't apply to all idols in the new generation tho'. Bruh even in her era, there are idols who are lazy. It's like an older gen hating on young kids because they have new tech. Just because they suffered doesn't everyone should suffer. That's a LOSER mentality. And just because she's from 2nd gen doesn't mean new gen's don't have suffering. In fact, it's even worse nowadays that kpop is a global wave that every move every actions are being scrutinized compared to Older idols who don't have as much worldwide fans than today.
Well, yes?
@@absolutelynotarobotsadly, she didn't lie 🤭🥱
2nd to 3rd become popular because of vocal talent
4th gen become popular because of visual and choreography
Supporting idols coz of visual and they can dance well, lol
fans should stop supporting groups can't even sing live
I agree I only like treasure and ikon and stayc and girls generation and straykids that's it.
😍💖SNSD GIRLIE AND DEFENDER 4EVA😍💖
The thing I notice is that dancing is so stiff. Look at tiffany's dancing in this video. She feels it with her whole body and face. Now they're doing the most with their body but it feels flat sometimes.
Exactly! A lot of people don't care as long as they have pretty bodies.... For example triple s half of the group is so stiff.
Boy you're the one whos stiff....💋
Easily called someone lazy without knowing their struggle and what they going through just to be who they are today. Senior should give support to all the younger idols but is disappointed
Being a senior idol is enough to gain more insight about the struggles younger idols face today cause she was once in their shoes.
@@skyOH7, so if she once in those lazy idols shoes, how can she easily called younger idols are lazy. Only her senior that think negative about younger idols when someone that being her senior never say anything to younger idols
@@airinavasquez4164 If she observed that some of the younger idols are lazy, then it's probably correct cause, let's be very real here. Some of the younger idols can't even make an effort to lipsync properly. So many senior idols have pointed out that companies today debut idols just because they are visually appealing or those idols already have fans. Even if you weren't an idol, most newbies or fresh graduates would be called out by senior employees if they were lazy or did something wrong. Kindly also remember that groups under the OG big 3 were built differently.
@@skyOH7, is like she never make mistakes when she were younger and did her senior ever say she is lazy?? Senior should give advice rather than criticize younger idols. If few younger idols are lazy, that's their problem but if she also think that overwork idols are lazy, she is the problem
@@airinavasquez4164Umm, she was an SM idol. That company doesn't produce, nor do they pick half-assed trainees and idols. SM has the most cutthroat in the industry. No one ever grows from advice alone, especially in the K-pop industry. Criticism and advice go hand in hand in whatever industry
Damn I haven’t seen her face in a while 😭 i wonder if she still plans on releasing solo songs
Eh idk about that one. I think having solo fancams puts pressure on todays idols to do better if anything. ALSO there’s this concept to not stand out when you’re in the back so the person/people in the front are the main visual point at that moment. That’s why you always hear dancer reactors compliment idols who have their own style but also blend in at the same time. Maybe back then you had to fight for attention on stage by standing out but the new meta is to be good but also to blend with your team. I think her categorizing today’s Idols as Lazy because they have solo fancams is a little too much. Giving “back in my day” vibes and I’m not here for the judgment🤷🏻♀️
Not the first video being of her lazily lip syncing 🤣😭😭
I think second generation idols are the standards because before 2015 I've never seen idols lipsink then after that this lipsink started even if not all the time now some groups don't know to sing live 😢
Some New gens are lazy coz they don't sing live. Unlike their era, gotta look good, dance good and SING GOOD. They started it GOOD and new gens are failing. 🙄
Well some, I know a few groups that SING LIVE GOOD TOO.
@@shea8223a "few" isn't enough and possibly the least good at singing
Old generations had easier choreographies so could sing amazing and dance at the same time
While this generations have so hard choreos and less training time, they either dance hard or sing well, there's no in between
Had easier choreos !?! Have you even seen any of them !?
@@nouhedg4035 yes
They didn't have easier choreography. Back then, almost every single music show was done with live vocals.
Literally the reason i love the old generations....now theres too much excessive dancing and less singing...🤷🏾♀️🙎🏾♀️
Hahaha its funny some are saying that her taughts are just a taught of old idols where maybe some you are right and some of you are wring but to all new generation fans of kpop for your information during the time when kpop was unknown globally singing with back track although with an open mike it is considered lypsycing and thats a fact.....secondly for those fans giving titles of this group or that group is the main rapper specially for female group.....Again for your all information new generation fans there is a differnce between a person who is assign to delivered every rap lines of the group songs to what real rapper means and thats a fact.....by the way maybe some of the new generation fans be respectful to the rap music that was introduce and created by a specific culture......
New Gen have to deal with hard choreo plus having stable vocals whereas she delt with camera attention
What stable vocals? Most groups nowadays lipsync. There are actually very few groups that have good live vocals. 4th and 5th gen are all about the dance. And snsd may not have had the most complex choreography by kpop standards nowadays but they still had some challenging choreography and they still killed with the live vocals
@cornelia4838 Straykids, TXT,Enhypen,Kiss of Life,Ateez,Nmixx,Aespa These are a few of the groups that have hard choreo and have stable vocals when performing,
@@GetHooked-f2n i didn't say all of the groups lipsync i said most do. I know there are groups that do have hard choreo and are still able to be stable live but they are not the majority they are the exceptions. There is a reason why these groups are praised for their live performances and it's because they are able to do what the majority in kpop can't or won't do anymore.

She should know 🤙🏾
She ain't wrong though. She paid her dues and 2nd-Gen set the standards. Unlike TWICE, their were no filler members. LOL Their weakest memebers Yoona & HYO practiced and got better overtime and were one of the first groups to crossover to the western successfully. (Yes! I think it’s crazy how anyone could call anyone who gets up on stage and dances lazy. Even if you’ve done it before to call your successors like they haven’t put in the work is so washed and old head behavior.
They need to be called out for being lazy and who's better to do so than a seasoned and respected senior from one of the biggest girl groups to exist in the Kpop scene !
Rich coming from her. She was a terrible dancer and members in ot8 performed and rehearsed very lazily. She is crazy
But the idols nowadays are even lazier
daaaaamn you called her OUT 😂🤣
I mean it’s not like we know what goes on behind the scenes at music shows. Rehearsals for outdoor events, which I’m assuming you are talking about for snsd, are normally different since they’re expected to perform the same song multiple times (pretty sure someone said over 5) due to more aspects to take note of. It’s normal to take it lightly and almost all idols do this to conserve energy.
One thing for sure is that it’s true that it’s easier for all members to shine nowadays than it did in the past when there weren’t individual fancams uploaded by broadcasting companies.
So true
She knows she is a terrible dancer but she put lot of efforts in her performance whenever she performs but some idols these days can't even sing a notes and is only praise for visuals is just damn disgusting.
what a boomer thing to say lol and she's not even that old so this is a weird take.. she can have opinions of course but calling the younger generation "lazy"?!!? girl, sit down (and don't hurt yo back) 😂
She ain't wrong though
She didn't lie and she can give her opinions now as a senior ... they are lazy and don't work hard
Tell her to do dance of nowadays generation lol. She has no right to disrespect idols who do hard work by saying idols of now generation are lazy . It's like our parents saying they know better bcuz they are older lol.
Man she direspected no one , she shared her opinion as a veteran who is respected by the whole industry. And yea she has the full right to say that and her opinions matter to them because korea respects seniority, i don’t know where you are from but you need to respect the korean culture.
girlie has more experience than any of the rookies or newer groups, i'm pretty sure she knows what she's talking about 💀 and i'm sure she knows what choreos these days are like SHE IS IN THE INDUSTRY HERSELF...
Gurl. She is one of the most respected idols. She is already on a level where she can share her opinions according to her observations. She knows what she is saying more than you realize
She has every right to criticize as a respected senior who's been in the business for 17 years ... if they don't work hard now how are they gonna last 20 years without an actual talent !?
