    I did sailing for 4 years and I've gotten really good at learning new knots and tying them in stressful situations & its dope to think that'll actually hv another purpose in my life than just the enjoyment, if I do end up becoming a surgeon (hopefully:))

    I feel like for a demonstration video this could have been done better with filaments that are easier to see, like being thicker.

    I love your videos...very inspirational and instructional...I am ahead of myself in my field, but I hope to be a surgeon one day..and I been had the kit...and finally put it to use..Thank you for the tips.. The most complicated knot to tie is the one-handed knot where you use the middle finger. I think the video lasped and I missed the part how it ended up between your ring and middle finger and whether you let go of the end on the suture you hold with your index finger and thumb. Currently, I am in my second semester, I am becoming a scrub tech.

    Fantastic tips, Dr. Parker! I have a few questions about your left one-hand knot, my preferred method. 1) It looked like you started with crossing for a square knot but then switched to like a slip, or was it just less obvious with the faster movements? 2) I think at that moment you said that for polyfilaments, it's better not to do the square knot? 3) Was is the reason for crossing over in the beginning, and does it matter which is on top?

    Hey Dr. Parker. When would you tie using your hands vs tying using your instruments?

    • @SimoneFin
      @SimoneFin 4 года назад +5

      With hands when you're inside the abdomen in a narrow space and let's say a vessel is bleeding. With instruments when the operation is over and you're suturing peritoneum, muscles and skin.

    its clear none of you are trying to follow this, youre just watching some entertaining video on the internet. He clips the suture at 1:50 and sets it down, then conveniently cuts and at 2:08 - 2:14 you can SEE THE NEEDLE IN HIS PALM. Its not fucking clipped and this DOESNT work if you actually try to clip it!! if youre going to make videos and titles that SOUND helpful/educational, don't fill them with bullshit. Some of us are actually here to BETTER OUR SUTURES.
