I believe many prisons should have this kind of reform. It's useful for the cats to live and it lets prisoners learn to take care of others. Totally a great idea
@@jennyclark6183It's not ideal, but it's not really tinier than the spaces used by shelters and adoption centers. It's actually bigger than many of them. Both are meant to be temporary, and in the case of the inmates, the cats are getting much more individual attention.
CheDi Richardson I like it how she's casually bathing herself obliviously while he talks about her possibly have being euthanized. She knows she's safe now
The unconditional love and, and no judgements, from a kitty (cat persone here) or any other animal, can bring out the best in anyone. Thank you for giving these adorable kitties a new purpose in life
I used to hate cats, went to a shelter to get a dog but a cat melted my heart. Caring for him (and later a sweet little girl cat I adopted to keep him company) has massively improved my mental health and give me daily purpose.
I knew they do these programs with dogs, but I didn't know they had cat fostering! That one guy was soo enthusiastic about having a cat to care for. (And who wouldn't be?)
If I adopted one of those kitties, their prisoner caretaker can visit anytime he wants once released. It'll be my community duty to keep another on the straight path.
More of this, so much manpower goes to waste when people are in prison. This is a perfect match, win win. 👍👍👍 For the people that don't think the prisoners deserves this opportunity, forget that, think of it for the cats, they are completely innocent so they deserve this.
The only downside might be funding transportation or whatever else. But i would say its 100% worth it. If they dont move these programs forward i could only imagine how hurt they would be😢
I can tell you for a fact that being in jail you do miss caring for something like an animal, I recall one bloke who would look after a cochroach in his room. Another time in minimal security there was a cat who'd had kittens and had abandoned them after 2 months some a lot of the other blokes would buy food with their own money getting canned tuna for them. Those kittens were well taken care right up until they were given homes with blokes going home or with the guards to be looked after by their kids. Good times
In the prisons that have programs like this, the guards like it too. The prisoners stay in their best behavior, otherwise, they'll go to solitary and can't stand the thought of not being able to take care of their cat or dog.
I bet these prisoners aren't even that evil, I bet they were locked up for murdering bad people like paedophiles, rapists, bullies, gang members, child abusers etc.
@@cynthia7245 Yes, but at least in California they only go by the last offense. If they beat the hell out of their wives years ago, but their last offense was shoplifting, they are considered "non-violent".
@@katzchenschatzchen6751 No but no little creature that is not able to tell on anyone should not be kept in a small space with someone who has been violent.
I wish more prison around the U.S would adopt more civilized ways of rehabilitating criminals, if you treat people like crap, then chances are they are going to treat others like crap too, the way that prisons are treated like trash, but to people who are in jail for smaller crimes makes it completely unfair to them as they haven't massacred an entire family, but they are treated like it, it makes no sense
'if she doesn't behave she'll get euthanized' It's funny how they care more about a cat then themselves. If they used this thought process on themselves sometimes maybe they wouldn't be in jail in the first place
Mike Moore There is only a certain population allowed to participate--those who are on good behavior, lower risks, etc. The ones who are getting rehabilated. If they do one thing to mess it up they are out of the program.
Her name is "Princess Natalie"
U can just imagine how spoilt she is gonna end up being ❤😂
The gang member with 5 bodies named the cat
I believe many prisons should have this kind of reform. It's useful for the cats to live and it lets prisoners learn to take care of others. Totally a great idea
But to make a cat live in that tiny space is cruel.
@@jennyclark6183It's not ideal, but it's not really tinier than the spaces used by shelters and adoption centers. It's actually bigger than many of them. Both are meant to be temporary, and in the case of the inmates, the cats are getting much more individual attention.
Neatired cats can live in one room whole life and be happy somehow
This is a great idea. It's good for the cats and good for the inmates, who have the responsibility of caring for someone other than themselves.
Political prisoners:
This is wonderful. It helps the cats and in turn it helps those inmates that helped them. It's really beautiful.
Lou McMullen they should do this at all prisons and with dogs to! Help them all 😀
Beautiful program for both, just look how tame Princess Natalie is now. 🤗

MomKat Pat I agree with you 100%!!! And I am also a cat person. Cats are the best...
Is klar..

I work in cat welfare and this is truly a wonderful thing as long as it's set up right second chances all round PURRfect !!!
such a rewarding,for both cat and inmate,program
Love can change anyone or anything.

grytlappar The guy with the long hair? He was really happy about it. It was really sweet
Awwww, lovely.
I think it's a great idea all prisons should have a program like this
YES!!! One of the best ideas EVER!! This will totally change both species' lives for the better! 😆
I love this! Giving misunderstood cats a second chance as well!!
Wonderful program
This is absolute wonderful gesture. This can save animals lives and change the lives of a prisoner...good job
These guys have good souls and I hope they can carry on helping their communities after their sentence
These men are great ppl! Thank you Lord! This is so beautiful to hear and see. Only blessings I pray come their way.
What a win win situation! :-)
They are on the right path to recovery!
🥰 what a wonderful idea 💡 helping animals and prisoners, I live in England 🇬🇧 I wish they did this in prisons over here.
Awww!! There's Always Hope ! you just have to Believe that you are capable and have free will.
Props dudes for stepping up to help precious animals. Great program. Best of luck to all these people for a second chance as well.

i love this guys optimism
Wonderful program! :)
Awww
So great. Cats have a way of taming the beast.
Well done guys keep up the great work.

The good thing is that those cats don't realize that they are in jail next to some felons.
This is pretty awesome 💙
It’s rewording even for me:) to watch how love changes lives for better!
This is beautiful
A beautiful wonderful story ❤❤❤❤
LOVE THIS😻😻😻😻
good program
Not everyone in Prison is bad, some people are in there for very little
Had the biggest and dumbest grin on my face while watching this
i like how the system is not harsh good good
wow i actually found a video on youtube with 0 dislikes
Not anymore. It now has 5 dislikes.
Now 6
Absolutely fantastic! 💖💖
The program has been shut down for years, sorry.
@@belafontelife9781 that's a shame😽
i wish they would put puppies or kittens in other cells aswell like the tought people so that they hearts would go soft
Princess Natalie is so sassy 😂
nice
I think this is great it's great for everyone all around the prisoner the cat and the person that will later adopt the cat it saves everyone.
If man cannot have internet, man must have the next best thing
Great idea 😁
Meeeowww!
This is the most worthy investment in people
I. LOVE. THIS!!!!
❤️😺❤️😺❤️😺
Why don’t all prisons have this in place? It’s a win-win situation
They need positivity. 🐱
Sweet, not only do they get cats but at 1:30 a selection of the finest butt plugs too. Just melts my heart.
sif Khan
I think that's a brush. Long haired cats and dogs need brushes that largely resemble rakes in order to get their undercoats detangled.
Animal therapy....better stimulant than drugs.
Trust me, they prefer the drugs. The animal program was shut down a few years ago
The only downside might be funding transportation or whatever else. But i would say its 100% worth it. If they dont move these programs forward i could only imagine how hurt they would be😢
It’s been shut down, no more pets for inmates
More prisons need to have programs like this
We got rid of it.

I hope they are not giving them to violent offenders. Without a doubt, some of them will hurt or kill the cats. Very naive.

This is ironic because all cats are criminals at heart.

Aw she is a goose
time to go to prison
Just don't put those lil furrball with anyone that has animal abuse record

First off... Take the darn harness off the cat. Cats hate them and it's unnecessary. Glad these criminals are getting pampered with cats. Not
