  • Eucalyptus Pauciflora or the Snow Gum easily rivals the River Red Gum for the most iconic eucalypt. It is well known for living in high altitude environments where it takes on a gnarly twisted form from its exposure to the harshest of elements. However, Eucalyptus pauciflora is the champion of altitudinal distribution because it can be found from sea level all the way up to our highest peaks.
    Thanks to Eucalypt Australia

    Indigenous people used the plants and animals to tell the seasons, in 11 year cycles. Currently the mainstream science is quite poor and limited, its time to help indigenous people heal and be open to the knowledge they have, because it will blow most peoples minds. Thats whats missing but I can see you evolving Steve. The parrot one is the best, the land is teaching you stuff.

      There are reports of snow gums growing in private gardens in places south, like Bergen.

    how fire tolerant are they?

      @VM38 3 года назад

      not very. they coppice like a lot of other eucs but they can't handle high-intensity fire like other species. if the fire's too hot it will just fry everything completely, and I'm pretty sure their traditional fire intervals were well over 20 years (up to 50 if I remember correctly, depending on the distribution).
