Gebraucht gekauft und in miserablem Zustand. Eigentlich sollte der E38 ein Projektfahrzeug werden, doch dann kam alles anders. Wir haben ihn für dieses Video mit Sicherheit auch nicht gut behandelt, aber dennoch ein Auto mit Kultstatus

Very interesting to see these massive 5.4L V12's that were putting out 320hp over 20 years ago and we now have 4 cylinder 2.0L engines putting out the same horsepower.

That engine was intended to give such a low horsepower , bmw 6.1L V12 ///M power engine of the mclaren F1 gave 627 hp and that's naturally aspirated...
This v12 really has low hp/litre. In that era bmw has straight 6 like the 36 m3, e34 m5 with very high hp/litre

my stock 95 bmw 740i 4.0L v8 makes 0-100 is 5.5 seconds... thought the v12 had more but maybe i was wrong

@@All4motion24 yup that never was in mass production. My friend get this from his grandfather. (I'm from Poland) and sold for 750k zł. That's was only 4700 examples of this car.
As far as I know there was only one as a concept. That is why I said this engine never went into mass production.
Just in case anybody has their doubts...

the 850ci with the v12 eats 14l/100km average. can get under 10l/100km on highway
these where great cars when they were released, i remember them being quick but looking at it now the 0-100 seamed to take a very long time considering its a 5.4 v12, maybe it was something to do with the inspection light being on because to be honest my jaguar xjr 4.0 supercharged was absolutely destroy that

The hole in the exhaust system makes the sound unnatural and excessive, also it would look way more authentic if the exhaust came out the end-pipe

@@All4motion24 Unfortunately not. But I think there are some after-market solution... look for Quaife "torsen-like" differential, for example, they make drop-in kit for many models.

I bought a 1998 BMW 750IL V12 with HUGE quad tip flow master exhausts, and you still can't here any exhausts note, LIKE EVER, I'm thinking of just sawing it off at the CAT and just leaving the tips on, Cause its pissing me off to have a V12 with exhaust system and have it sound like a mini van! Let me know what some of you think is wrong. Thanks
My 750i does the same, rear muffler delete and still sounds like a minivan.

i think its a 735i i have a 740 and my car pulls faster than that i think its 6 cyl i dont think BMW made a 750i im pretty sure they only came in the long wheel base
no, its a 12 cylinder and you could get it like every version long and short wheelbase. just check out wiki about e38
by the way. 735 e38 was a V8 not a V6
Cool thanks for the knowledge in the USA we are only offered the 740i 740il and the 750il i didnt know that in europe the 750i was available it was rare with only 7,000 produced between 95-2001 so i will admit i was misinformed but i still think the sound of the car in this vid and how slow it seemed compared to my 740il i have the m62b44 2001 and that 740i just seemed slower and it doesnt spin both wheels it doesnt have posi and my car does.
750i was available in germany. maybe not in US. Acceleration might not be the best, because car an transmission were not in the best condition but we didn't check that. It's an old car so it will maybe not perform like new.
There are no BMW v6 ... at least not a commercial version. So i guess you meant I6
