I haven’t played 6.0 more than a game or two, but I think it’s great so far

Agree when he was comparing to paint ball it’s not entirely close. You would not look up for 1 sec if it was real bullets. Let alone your probably shaking in your boots. No way your getting good shots down range

This is what I said in reply to another comment here: "The realism *wasn't* to replicate _"realistic effects"_ for the player but, instead, utilize _immersive effects_ that elicit *_more realistic behavior_* from the players. A thing to keep in mind is there's just no way you can convince players to fear death in a video game as they would in reality, so you use mechanics to *facilitate similar end results* . In this case, by making it extremely ineffective to return fire while suppressed, the players are more likely to keep their head down, call for help, and/or relocate...which are the same actions a soldier would make in real life. Game design is, in large part, manipulating behavior."
There’s a few things they could do but they’re probably not better than blurry vision Blurry vision kinda shows the panic you’d get when pinned down because if instead your character was shaking and making funny noises it wouldn’t really work because you can still John wick everyone

The changes serve a purpose though and have been successful, it has made CQB comical - but I can live with the tradeoff since Squad CQB was always a trash experience & authentically you wouldn't see 1 or 2 soldiers rush a compound, they'd fix the enemy, surround them and call in a fire mission whenever possible. It's really hard to make a fps game play in an authentic way, because respawns. Prior to v6 it really was just a ticket race. Throw bodies at the point and use the ticket reward to do the same at the next point. Lowering tickets & extending respawn timers would have done nothing to change players behavior, just make the rounds one sided.
