Kingsbury was a rising Coach, and should get a shot at being an OC at the least, because he is a brilliant Offensive mind, and he was a decent College QB. I'm a lifelong Washington fan, and I'm ok with this. Dan Quinn? Not so much.
Kingsbury over Beienmey should be malpractice. One guy lead the best offense in the league for 4 years. The other guy has bounced back and forth between college and nfl
Not his biggest fan....but your straight dogging him. Pull your head out, new head man, new people. I believe you feel so bad for EB because he could be coaching this Sunday, instead took a chance. Proved to be a harsh decision. Don't you have anything better to do than dog people. Kliff was a helluva qb and learned under the best. He can score pts. EB gambled. EB will be fine, he has very good contacts
SAS is low-key mad that Bienemy got let go, so he's taking it out on the Kingsbury hire. Kingsbury has developed some of the game's skilled QB's, and he has a good offense oriented mind.
He hasn't developed anybody. It's a big difference between knowing someone and developing someone as SAS said. EB should've gotten another chance under the new management,,I mean he did win 3 Superbowls with Pat MaHomes.
QB Coach makes more sense. OC is a little bit concerning because Dan Quinn is calling Defense so it’s heavily dependent on him to make all the calls and playbook.
I'm a die- hard Commanders fan, yet I don't like this move or the head coaching choice... Kliff ain't it but I hope both hires prove me wrong... HAIL !
Also, Washington is perfectly fine with that outcome. Howell ran an air raid style offense in college. So did Drake Maye. Kingsbury runs a similar air raid offense and liked working with young QBs. This is a great hire no matter which way you look at it
This is one of those tricky race things, but I’ll take a shot at sharing my perspective and opinion. White people can forever innocently claim that they hire people based off their credentials and merit and race has nothing to do with it. This may sound extreme, but stay with me: just based on history, and how white people have built and run a lot of stuff over a very long time, a white person can get jobs and opportunities in life, where they literally will not have to encounter a single person of color to get the “yes” they need. And people of color, Black people specifically, will run into ceilings and gate keepers that are white people, most of the time, that have to say “yes” for them to get where they want to go. Is racism over? We’ll never know the hearts and minds of every single person at all times. But black people have lived through times where racism was real and factual and they were told “no” simply because they are Black. It’s not so easy for Black people to just forget or ignore that fact, so when moments like this come up, we naturally think race is a part of it, and we have good reason to think that. That’s why the EB situation sets SAS off. You can claim racism to be over, but until Black people get the “yes” they need from a white person in a moment like this, a part of us will think race was at play, and a white person walked into the opportunity without as much of a hassle or need to prove themselves. No one waste time calling me a victim. Have Black people succeeded? Yes. Can Black people hire other Black people? Of course. Not every story is the same. But when it comes to this particular EB situation and black and white stuff, I’m just pointing out a truth that has existed based on history in our country. EB needed a yes from yet another white guy and didn’t get it.
Ok, but does this mean that that's the metric by which every other hire must be measured? Everyone else on the panel judged the situation on what the merits are, and yet SAS has to inject race. At that point, in my view, he fails to be objective. If Kingsbury doesn't qualify for whatever reason, let the argument be on the merits (or lack thereof), not race.
Did Smith watch EB last season? He was horrible as the OC. Sure part of the blame was on Howell but EB should take most of the blame. His scheme was incorrect for that team, he put Howell in harms way many times & just made many baffling decisions. I wish him luck elsewhere, but he was a terrible fit. In terms of Kingsbury - just because you fail as a head coach doesn't mean that you will fail as OC. There have been plenty of great coordinators that have failed as head coach.
Not everything has to be racial my God, the dude has an offensive credentials since his time in college. I don't see who is the greatest Balck offensive coordinator that haven't been hired this year
Eric B won 2 superbowls with chiefs as a oc and just got fired. Kliff failed in college never had a winning record he even lost with patrick mahomes. It is racial child do your research
He got the job and THEN Caleb posted. But overall I agree with Steven A Smith. Cliff does seem to fail up. He couldn't win w/ Patrick Mahomes in Texas Tech
With all the different hires last couple of years the race card doesn’t seems to work anymore for the Eric Bieniemy HC talks.., so let’s use it when a white guy (former HC) gets an OC opportunity 😞 No talks on EB … as his OC season was a disaster.. so that kind of talk doesn’t fit the ESPN narrative anymore 😊
Something SAS seems to be leaving out: it’s about relationships in the coaching world. So yes, shmoozing can get you places but eventually if results don’t meet expectations it no longer works
You’re crazy it’s a good hire Washington depleted Dallas Def coaches, Dallas defense players during free agency will want to come in which will upgrade the commanders defense. Jim wasn’t going to go to Washington without a clear QB situation.
@@tyronebrown2246 Washington defense under performed for years with so many high draft picks on the defensive roster. The offense improved last year under Eric’s turnover of the offensive scheme. I'm sure there are better candidates out there, but I doubt Washington did their due diligence.
The Commanders probably aren't going to attract the best and brightest, and these hires prove it.
We got one of the best GMs in the NFL
@@philthyrich007 Yeah, the Commanders are lighting the world on fire.....
Yea I’m usually not in agreement with Stephen a but what did kliff kingsbury do that was so spectacular??? He was a loser in college for the most part, he gets a head coaching job in the nfl where he gets to coach the number 1 pick, has 1 good season in 4 years, gets fired and then gets an OC job to potentially coach ANOTHER number 1 pick??? I mean talk about failing up.
@@Mrjonezzz Because he's done a good job at developing quarterbacks and the commanders are going to have a QB to develop this season. Its not that complicated
@@Mrjonezzz Y'all professional victims are just sad & can't think. He's good at developing QBs. New ownership, means new staff. Think for once.
I’m with Doggy on this. Give him a chance to coordinate.
LOL. The fact that Stephen A Smith doesn’t like the hire means it’s probably phenomenal. You’re a bozo
Who was anyway fm
He’s a hater too that’s why I don’t watch since white man left show .only watch him wen cowboys that’s funny.
Evertime they hired white coach
its not. So cliff is the best you guys could come up with. Or you guys just wanna use him to lure Caleb and get rid of him in a year or two if it doesnt really work out?
Bro as a black man I wish people would stop throwing racism word around so loosely. They just using it for clicks now.
Kliff is a good offensive mind, and can develop QBs. This isn’t a crazy hire
Stephen A always finds a way of making things about race. This why I can’t stand ESPN
So you get rid of a OC with 2 Super Bowl rings and replace him with Kingsbury
I thinking samething 😂😂😂Hired Kingsbury worst coach ever seen won 5 games texas tech hired as head coach
EB might have been possibly the worst playcaller I have ever seen. He got carried in Kansas city (where he never called plays)
@@breonmitchell2443 Y'all professional victims are sad. New ownership, means new staff. They gave em a season to prove they should stay & failed.
@@themacaronichronicles717 EB entire career is him getting carried my 6 year old nephew could of made better calls. Happy someone else agrees he was terrible.
I’m just happy he’s a white man… I’m just happy they hired two white men and this black 👶 qb is calling his white boy coordinator his dawg@washington dc=THE BLACKEST CITY ON 🌍
Kliff Kingsbury was a head coach of course he will get another chance. Very few former head coaches fail to get another shot. Bill Bellicheck is different.
When Mayo was hired as head coach, not coordinator, Stephen A said he was happy for him and supported it….. Interesting
Before I watch, I’m guessing they brought race into it ?
Stephen A. is STILL my least favorite racist.
What Team does Stephen A run again? Who cares if HE likes the hire, or not? Kingsbury was a rising Coach, and should get a shot at being an OC at the least, because he is a brilliant Offensive mind, and he was a decent College QB. I'm a lifelong Washington fan, and I'm ok with this. Dan Quinn? Not so much.
It's about time .ya'll get on that.
What happened to Coach Bienemy?
They took him to the docks
He sucks
I personally feel the same way
Kingsbury over Beienmey should be malpractice. One guy lead the best offense in the league for 4 years. The other guy has bounced back and forth between college and nfl
Bruh as a Washington fan EB fukn sucked..
Kaleeb Williams is egregious 🤣🤣🤣
Exactly boss
This is about Eric
im so DONE about Stephen racist cart
So you agree with the hire
Big Wood, it's about time bro. Love the shirt, it's flavorful and you look good in it. Bravo big guy.
we're poverty, and we've been poverty my 14 years of being a fan (im 20). Are any teams accepting new fans?
Yes, the Packers are and we would love to have you
Slide to Tampa Bay you don’t deserve this
Well...I know we're hated rivals, but come on to Cowboys nation lol.
Good riddance
Only fake fans be saying this😭
How tf does this have anything to do with race
SAS is low-key mad that Bienemy got let go, so he's taking it out on the Kingsbury hire. Kingsbury has developed some of the game's skilled QB's, and he has a good offense oriented mind.
He hasn't developed anybody. It's a big difference between knowing someone and developing someone as SAS said. EB should've gotten another chance under the new management,,I mean he did win 3 Superbowls with Pat MaHomes.
He has developed no one
Commanders can’t ever do anything in anyone’s eyes
I won’t say how I exactly feel but if we hired Raheem morris he wouldn’t say tjis
QB Coach makes more sense. OC is a little bit concerning because Dan Quinn is calling Defense so it’s heavily dependent on him to make all the calls and playbook.
To be Fair Kliff Kinsburys offense was ranked higher than washingtons in 2023 and you all praise Eric Bienemy like he is some offensive genius.
One coached in the NFL and the other in College. How are you going to compare the two 🤦🏿♂️
I'm a die- hard Commanders fan, yet I don't like this move or the head coaching choice... Kliff ain't it but I hope both hires prove me wrong... HAIL !
Unfortunately nobody available. HC or Coordinators. Top 3 all stayed except Macdonald. I’m not struck on Quinn, feels similar to Rivera Hire
What happens is if the Bears take Caleb and Washington is stuck with Kingsbury calling plays for Sam Howell? 😐😑
There are other QBs in the draft…… Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels just to name a few.
Williams has already let Chicago know he doesn't want to play there and will probably force a trade the way Eli did when the chargers took him.
Also, Washington is perfectly fine with that outcome. Howell ran an air raid style offense in college. So did Drake Maye. Kingsbury runs a similar air raid offense and liked working with young QBs. This is a great hire no matter which way you look at it
@@Jzav987 not true
@@chazzhammer425 ok then all the reports are wrong and you know more.
Bill Belichick style might be outdated speaking that Raheem got the job over him
Raheem didn’t get the job over belichick Bill was fired Raheem was the replacement
Calm down, professional victim.
U watch MSNBC no question
Kliff is not a good coach and has proven that.
Why because he's not black?
It's bizarre.
I don't see who is the greatest Balck offensive coordinator that haven't been hired this year
You sound stupid how about the black oc they literally just fired in Washington
Eric B won 2 superbowls with chiefs as a oc and just got fired. Kliff failed in college never had a winning record he even lost with patrick mahomes. It is racial child do your research
Stephen a MYTH is here only to push the “race and inequality” message. He’s an industry plant 🪴
Well, Byron Leftwich and Eric Bienemy are 2 Black OCs that have Superbowls on their resume and don't have a job.
@@williamphillips3035Eric bienemy sucked last year. That’s why he doesn’t have a job. I’m a commanders fan
My god ESPN is a joke. They can’t even get Caleb’s name right. “Khaled Williams” “Caleb Williamson”
Kaleeb Williams is crazy
He got the job and THEN Caleb posted. But overall I agree with Steven A Smith. Cliff does seem to fail up. He couldn't win w/ Patrick Mahomes in Texas Tech
Stephen A couldn’t be more wrong on this topic
"Breath smell like Similac!" LMAOOOOOOOOO
Keleeb is still wet behind the ears he’s a 👶
Martin! 😂
With all the different hires last couple of years the race card doesn’t seems to work anymore for the Eric Bieniemy HC talks.., so let’s use it when a white guy (former HC) gets an OC opportunity 😞
No talks on EB … as his OC season was a disaster.. so that kind of talk doesn’t fit the ESPN narrative anymore 😊
Something SAS seems to be leaving out: it’s about relationships in the coaching world. So yes, shmoozing can get you places but eventually if results don’t meet expectations it no longer works
As a Washington fan I hated the Dan Quinn hire as well. They weren't able to close the deal on Harbaugh.
You’re crazy it’s a good hire Washington depleted Dallas Def coaches, Dallas defense players during free agency will want to come in which will upgrade the commanders defense. Jim wasn’t going to go to Washington without a clear QB situation.
They weren’t able to close the deal because they didn’t want him
@@tjrose9830 Dan Quinn was a bad hire I’m sorry I don’t know what your talking about. With the right coordinators maybe something good can pop off.
@@tyronebrown2246 Washington defense under performed for years with so many high draft picks on the defensive roster. The offense improved last year under Eric’s turnover of the offensive scheme. Now with a new OC they can see the CLEAR positives that was displayed and just develop that bad performing defense. You just look at names and not the issues it seems.
@@MrInternational1980 they wanted him but they weren't going to concede the power he wanted.
Eric Bieniemy has a interesting history . Why he left dorsey high school to go to bishop Amat. I know there was problems with the reffs in Carson & banning high school when Bieniemy ran that ball. In 1988-1989 . Keyshawn Johnson might know more about that. (Dorsey high) . So what I'm saying there's HATiNG against him. Respect job
Didn’t ear you point put the underqualification of coach Pierce for the Raiders, stephen. Stop the racism.
Why is Stephen A always making it about race?
Why does everything have to be about race?
Kingsbury had only one guy to develop in NFL; Kyler Murray. He's still playing so it's not a bust. The college QBs he's been 'around' are all playing too. Stop hatin'.
Where is Eric Bieniemy? Isn’t he the current OC in Washington?
They’re most likely replacing him with Kingsbury which makes absolutely no sense
