OMG! I used to do this as a kid. I’ve also still got one of my leaflets I designed for a Theme Park called Adventure Valley that was located near Worksop. It’s a complete leaflet front and back, with full park map, facilities, show times, pictures of new rides, ticket prices, etc. I look at it now over 30 years after drawing it and am still impressed by my drawing and design. Some of my theming was absolutely epic. Shame you can’t share photos on here.
I have designed (and a number of revisions) of a theme park that I'd like to build. Along with that, about 14 or 15 restaurants and their menus. Gift shops that don't violate copyrights and about seven arcades (a theme park I worked at, local parents used the place as a babysitting service-and they should not have). Glad to see that someone else has done almost the same thing.
Til this day I still have a passion for drawing theme park maps of my own original I absolutely love doing it! I want to turn this into a career of mine I definitely love your artwork Shawn I would love to see how you draw now as an adult in day of time!!! I hope meet you guys one day! Just the amount of details you put into your vlogs and videos
This is bloody brilliant. Best park related video I've watched for ages. Just nice to know we weren't that weird after all. I used to do the same, even in Secondary school. In yr 7 art we had 'sketch books' and every week we had to sketch something as homework. Whenever I could shoehorn something coaster related into the week's theme, I would do, and those sketches would be 10 x better than any of my other art homework. My best sketch was of the Big One in Blackpool, it was so much better than any of my other work that my teacher sat me down and asked me why I could sketch coasters so well, and why I didn't put as much effort into any of my other art work!!! Thanks for the video guys, made a nice change going down memory lane.
Hi both absolutely AMAZING to see how you got so drawn in with theme parks and fairs. I can remember when Alton Towers was juts a place to go and see the gardens and then rides appeared and along came the Corkscrew. I can remember queuing for the Blackhole with my older brother on the very first day of opening and queuing for over 3hrs 45 minutes and the park put on entertaininment to keep people amused on a seperate stage. It's so pleasing to watch two people so happy to share there thoughts and experiences of theme parks around the world. Keep it all going both and get out there and keep on riding. Come on Blackpool let's get Valhalla up and going 2023. Lol
Excellent drawing Shawn from down memory lane as I look through a selection of old theme park drawings that I did when I was a child! Many of these drawings are between 15 and 20 years old and have remained in storage ever since!. And Excellent camera work Charlotte with the video camera. keep the good videos up on the channel Shawn and Charlotte, I cant wite to see the next one on the channel.
I was looking back at my theme park stuff I owned today. I found my oblivion drawing and I remember working on it for 2 weeks. I was small for my age so I didnt ever get to go in it till I was 11. I remember if I was too young or small I would draw it. I found it today along with many first time on ride photos. Great video shawn 🙂
Love it Shawn you are so talented loved sharing this with you the drawings are fab loved Charlotte's baking really looking forward to seeing your garden keep up the good work guys what memories etc you will have to share when you have little ones love to you both xx
Left you a comment on your Instagram post but I also have many drawings from my youth of imaginary rides and theme parks from over 40 years ago. I’m so happy there are others out there like myself with dreams like these! Some of my crazy ideas came true, others are almost like ones I thought about back then (Fly’s boarding sequence) and still more that haven’t yet become a reality. Thank you for sharing this! ❤
These are genuinely amazing Shawn!! It’s so nice that your parents encouraged your passion for theme parks they must be so proud of how it has grown!! 😊
Bet they brought back great memories shawn, can see why you love planet coaster so much now, its like doing your drawings in 3d plus you get to ride them!! Cant wait to see what else is in your collection.
Amazing art work! It’s so fascinating to see how long you have been an enthusiast.I think your knowledge and love for it all is so infectious.I really enjoy both your channels
Hi shawn and Charlotte Wow this was amazing brilliant that you kept them. It shows how much you love the Theme park world. You very talented in your drawing I couldn't draw as good as that . Brilliant stuff thanks for sharing with us. Love to you both as always Tracey 💕 xxxx
I liked designing roller coasters when I was a kid. I used to play Thrillville on PS2 and my cousin and I designed our coasters with that game. Such memories.
I’m currently doing a project on alton towers for my illustration degree- some of those maps have better coaster drawings than I can manage! love the hex appreciation 🎉
Very creative. I used to do this. I loved Sticking A3 paper together and drawing my own massive theme parks. I remember doing it in school once for a lesson topic as well.
A lot of detail in your brain from a early age. Makes me think that you could go on to construct some Rollercoasters or and rides via Lego or similar construction items and have them on display. Thanks for showing. Just struck me, you missed my favourite park....Seaworld Orlando !! mind more Rollercoasters there now.
Love it, what a talented chap! So interesting to see all the influences and how much you loved theme parks at such a young age. You should get one framed!
WOW Shaun these are amazing! It’s so interesting to take a look back at these, a true enthusiast since day one!! I would love to see an updated version of your latest theme park vision.
this reminds me of being a kid! i remember me and my friends planned on opening a theme park when we were about 7 and drew probably the most neck breaking coasters known to man. 😂
I did something similar! Alas I lost mine, but I think some kids like laying out, and organising in some way, and theme parks are definitely a key one (hence Roller Coaster Tycoon, Theme Park, those games) I used to make these layouts and imagine walking round it. These are amazing mate
I'm excited to see the British Theme Park Museum, and well done on getting the Apocalypse sign. Hope your keeping in touch with Alton Towers, if any of the Nemesis theming gets updated or replaced then you need to get whatever you can for the museum...that would be the ultimate acquisition 👍
I used to do this all the time, especially taping all the paper together to make a massive park! I always dreamed of having my own park! No Idea if we have any of the drawings anymore though...
That's soo cool. I still do theme park map drawing of one's I want to make when I'm older. Maybe you could visit them one day. I also realy hope your museum goes well when it opens because I'd love to visit that
Literally did the same when I was a kid! One concept I came up with was Disneyland UK in Cannock Chase, which was basically a mashup of all the best aspects of the existing Magic Kingdom style parks haha
Can I just say, I'm an artist and your drawings for 7/8 years old are absolutely amazing. The way you can create perspective with all foreground & backgrounds. I would love to see you recreate one now you're older 😊 great work!
I also used to do this as a child I did my own version of a Disney style park and then my own version of chessington with rides and animals and I still have the chessington on stored safely to this day .The Disney style one is long gone .However I showed the one I have to a mate and he was super impressed with it .I made it in 1982 when I was 11 🫶🫶🫶🫶
Wow 🤩your artwork is amazingly beautifully designed and presented with all of the different attractions including the shops as well as you’ve must of spent huge amounts of time on these with so much thought going into these, I too love 💕 Art so sharing your talented designs makes people appreciate how dedicated compassionate caring guy you are I bet your folks are totally super proud of you Shawn with their interests passions passed down to you, you look like you had such a memorable childhood jam packed of endless fun adventures hey. Awesome vlog
Your drawings are awesome Shawn especially the last one wouldn’t it be amazing if you could bring your drawings into reality and have your own theme park
I did this as a kid as well, I drew theme parks, funfairs, or just a single roller coaster with themeing areas around it. I'll have to try and find them!
when I was younger, I drew a small amusement park named T Land, and I made a 520ft coaster named Doomspire, i plan to make a version of Doomspire on Planet Coaster
I hope you and charlotte have a great day I love the adventure island map in Southend-On-Sea which is my local theme park, also the major project is that there is a massive Ferris wheel replacing the dodgems And it meant to be like the London eye opening in December this year, how is rage like since I’m going on it the first time and no idea what it’s like since I’ve always been so nervous, I hope you have a brilliant rest of the day- Tiahna😊
I love your drawings Shawn. The details you put into them were awesome. Shawn's art gallery next? Keep up the awesome work and get out there and keep on riding
Aww what a fab video! You did such a good job on those!! So lovely to see just how passionate you are about this - it must feel fantastic to be able to look over these with all those memories
I think it's really nice how you have managed to preserve these in storage for so long. And for drawings that are 15- 20 years old, they are in very good condition. The drawings themselves are pretty good as well considering you were only a kid when you did them. You need to keep hold of those drawings & maybe show them to your own children one day if you decide to have children in the future.
Oh man, this kind of stuff reminds me of my own childhood, when I would draw up plans for a Nintendo theme park... And what do you know! Something like it became a reality with Super Nintendo World! 😂 Loved this!
wow shawn that is amazing all this time watching you for last couple of years now i never knew you was that talented they look so detailed and so realistic its incredible 🙈👏bravo to you mate wish i could draw stuff like that i wouldnt know where to start lol but hopefully people like rmc and b+m now see your video on this and take inspiration and ideas from it and also shawn in the future you should collab with them in designing parks coasters etc in the future youd be great at that deffo got the skill for it

This is incredible, they are genuinely amazing, lovely to see that passion and interest at such a young age, I’d have them as wallpaper in my daughters room, she’d love it! Add it to your merch page 😃

I'm so glad you kept all your artwork was great to see 😁 reminds me of when I was little 😊 although ill admit I didn't have the creativity and dedication to design an entire park 😀
This is so wholesome and sweet 🥰 and this is honestly such a fun activity for kids to do. I used to do something similar, but maps of a road trip. I would draw the map of a route including toll booths, ags stations, forest, tunnels etc.
These are great! I used to love doing theme park designs on paper too. Mainly, I would design them on Theme Park World or RollarCoaster Tycoon and then try and remember them and draw them out. Maybe you should draw out a new one now? Inspired by all the new parks you’ve been to! Though I’m not sure how many pieces of paper you’d need for that 😂

You can make them into a slideshow.
You could make a google slides and send the link to it
Post them on their Facebook group
That’s amazing!

This reminds me of the drawing of Slinky Dog Dash that Andy did that you can see in the loading station.
Wow! I didn't know that. I used to draw roller coasters, and theme park maps when I was a kid from 2009 to 2014.
These are fascinating! The level of detail and care is just stupendous. Love 'em!
💗💗💗
Your artwork would make great merch for your channel - t-shirt, mugs!
Til this day I still have a passion for drawing theme park maps of my own original
I absolutely love doing it! I want to turn this into a career of mine
