This song doesn't do justice to Hong gi's (Lee Hong Gi) voice, his voice is insane.. its crazy good on live shows.. FT Island does music in korean and japanese as well.
How painful it is to remember how incredibly talented Jonghoon is. The lead guittar, pianist, main composer and ex leader. He is even a good as painter!! Had a major crush on him while i was in high school LOL loved to see them live. I really had bad taste in men since then haha. In case someone doesn't know he is in jail for being part of a drugged gang bang, filming girls and sharing withouth their consent... a jewel. FT Island is, regardless of all this, an awesome band and was able to stick and make it even when this music was 0 popular back then in korea. They weren't able to do the music that they wanted to till mid 2010`s but ever since then they became a million times better band. let's see what the future brings.

I feel like I don't ever see FT Island reactions, but what a nice and refreshing surprise. They're truly top-tier musicians and artists, I really think Lee Hongki is one of my all-time favorite vocalists for me. It's so interesting how kpop always seems to be what ropes people into korean music, but then there always seems to be a lovely surprise of Korea having like such good artists in very underrated genres. I mean now it's mainstream, but even just a couple years ago khip-hop was nowhere near where it is today. On top of that like now I find myself going back and listening to older classic rock/folk artists from Korea as well, along with like indie bedroom pop artists. The country really has a wide collection of incredibly interesting and talented artists.
Ft Island is the OG band in the K industry!! Honki's voice is itt, highly recommend Wind by them which was to celebrate their 10 year anniversary!! You can really appreciate his voice there

Ft. Island is so underrated here in America I actually found the group when I was watching a kdrama and the lead singer Lee Hongki was acting in it he was my favorite character in the series and he has one of my favorite male voices. By the way if anyone wants to know its an old kdrama from 2009 called You're Beautiful. He played a character named Jeremy and has great acting skills.
I love Hong Ki's voice. He has a song called Monologue that is amazing. Even after a few years, listening to his voice in that song always gets me. Wind by this band is also a favourite of mine.
FT Island is actually the first Korean artists I heard. One day I accidentally clicked on a show called Modern Farmer on Hulu, instead of clicking on Modern Family. It was so funny and I kept watching it even though it was Korean with subtitles. It was for first time I have come across Korean entertainment. The main character was played by Hongki, who is the lead singer of FT Island. I got hooked by him. He was so hilarious. I checked out other shows he was in, and his band, and my life hasn’t been for same since. It’s been almost 7 years and I’m so deep into Kpop now.

This group will never be the same. Only 3 members still exist: Hong Gi [Lead singer], Jae Jin [Bass], & Min Hwan [Drums]. Song Seung Hyun left FT Island label, FNC, and the band, at the beginning of 2020 to focus solely on acting, & Choi Jong Hoon was released from his contract & the group after being jailed for rape charges in relation to the Kpop Burning Sun Scandal. Currently all 3 present members, Hong Gi, Jae Jin, & Min Hwan are serving their mandatory 18 month military service, although Min Hwan, since not only does he have an almost 3 yr old son, but his wife gave birth to twin girls this past Feb, so they're a year old, and he went into the RESERVE right afterward so that he could do his service and be afforded the ability to commute from home so he can help with his 3 kids. lol. Hong Gi is going to be getting discharged this coming April while the other 2 won't get out until the end of the year. So, no new music for a while.
I love FT ISLAND so much. I was and still am a fan of them. I started to love them when I was 9. I am 21 now, and still listening to their songs. Nostalgic. Really.

OMG, came to you for BTS but FT Island is one my absolute favourites. Lee Hong Ki has the best voice. He;s also a great actor in dramas such as A Korean Odyssey, Modern Farmer, and many others. He started as a child actor. He also is great at ballads- try his song Still Love You with Yoo Hwesung from the band N Flying (another great band to check out). Two powerhouse singers with insane high notes.

Ft island is loaded with ballads due to k media dislike towards rock. They have some hard Korean songs like this one but they are mostly known for they amazing vocals and their ballads. They also have pray which is another hard(ish) krock song. They've been around for quite a while, about 14 years. Their Japanese songs are to die for but I would check for copyright before reacting to them since Japan is more strict with copyrights. 1234 is one of their few full english songs but it's under a Japanese label so check for that one as well. Hongki (the lead singer) has solo music's as Lee Hong Gi where he sings other genre other than rock, mostly pop and ballads. Recently he released a Korean song called mixtape during his enlistment, and a japanese pathfinders just a year prior that. Pathfinders is one of my top favourites from his solo career. To finish this, (its getting too much to read) there is another group under the same Korean label as ft island called n.flying, they're a bunch of goofs and are widely known for their amazing covers..
Not sure if you would like it but the frontman of this group has a song with the singer of another group who is also in a kinda rock group, though it is more pop/rock BUT they made a ballad together and i normally do not like ballads but this one is so vocally strong it will blow you away! It's called "Still Love You" by Lee Hong Gi (from Ft.Island) and Yoo Hwe Seung (fromN.Flying)

It's not Kpop or K-rock, but if you like rock music, I would totally recommend Japanese rock band, One ok Rock! The leader is like best friends with the leader of F.T. Island and it really shows. They're an amazing band. I had a chance to meet them and see them live and it was amazing! I would suggest " Deeper Deeper" and "Mighty Long Fall".

They are one of my favorite bands. They have both Korean and Japanese albums. Their Japanese titles tend to be harder rock but I love all of their releases. If you like them, you may also like their really good friends, a Japanese band called One Ok Rock.
