Hong ki said that his ultimate idols are Jared Leto. 30 seconds to Mars his ultimate band, Dave Grohl and a Korean rocker. He is an actor since childhood, musical theater actor, a ballad singer and most of all a rocker, he wrote this song and over 90 more, the bassist and the two guitar players are lyricists too, Jaejin the bassist writes about love and happy songs Hong Ki writes about pain and suffering and leave me alone. If you are checking their songs check morning coffee, last love song, crying in the rain, Chocolate, Fish, Aqua, Tornado... the drummer Minhwan has been playing since 8 years of age. I just love their music. If you want to hear a great album check their NWU Japanese album...
That's such a fantastic live performance of a terrific song. Aside from Lee Hong Gi's powerful vocals the other MVP of that performance was the drummer, Choi Min Hwan. He totally killed it during the bridge. Real cool to let Choi have the spotlight there so he can show some of his chops. Like you Choi is a father even though he's the youngest member of F.T. Island. He's married with a son and twin girls. It's great that you enjoyed the song and performance! I remember really feeling that "Sick of all the lies, you'll just do it again" line too when I first heard it!
I love that song so so much. Lee Honggi has a strong voice. Even when he goes to king of mask singer people recognize him without doubt because of his unique tone. This guys just finish their military dutes. I think soon se Will have new amazing songs 💜
Love your reaction. You got the meaning of the song down even if it only has several lines in English and the rest is in Korean. You have heart.. and an ear for great music. Love this band!
My first concert was theirs 3 years ago as I remember and I can say it was amazing. I hope you'll look into their songs more because they deserve it. Love the reaction btw.
Even though they lost the two guitarrists Lee Homg Ki the lead singer said that they might hire fans who covered their songs on RUclips. He said they have been thinking on give those talents a shot.
Just recently Hongki said he was influenced by Linkin Park and Chad from Nickleback. This group has been through some stuff the last few years. It’s going to be interesting to see what their sound is as they come out of the military. And can’t wait to see what they do about the loss of both guitarist.
Before this album, FT Island was usually known for a more softer, kinda pop-rock vibe, which was very well recieved but with this album, they wanted to do something that is more them and go more thowards the hard rock genre. What's sad though is that this album was much less well recieved in Korea than their previous stuff. I personally think this was their best album that they put out but it seems the korean public isn't really into that kind of music. Maybe that's part of the reason why their more recent stuff is much more toned down.
"Before this album, FT Island was usually known for a more softer, kinda pop-rock vibe" This is not really accurate as what you are saying is only the case in South Korea and that's motivated by the fact that South Korea (like English speaking countries also) is not really into Rock music all that much so they have to focus more on Pop Rock and Rock ballads in South Korea. However, in Japan they have done a lot of harder Rock music Japan and in Japan they are known for that. Even their Japanese Pop Rock And Rock ballads tend to lean into more Rock than the South Korean songs they do which is again motivated by the musical tastes of each country. What is frustrating though is that many people who comment on FTIsland think that they know about them but they don't because all they recommend are the same 3 Korean songs over and over again (Pray, Take Me Now, Wind) because in reality that's all they know and they never recommend their Japanese songs because they don't know them. It's ironic too because Pray and Take Me Now are songs that FTIsland made specifically to be like the kind of Rock music they do in Japan. "I personally think this was their best album" It wasn't. It was perhaps their best Korean album yes but their Japanese albums have always been better.
@@NomadFlow Yeah, that's actually what i ment, i just didn't articulate myself clearly. I ment that the korean audience isn't very into the hard rock/ metal sound, which is partly why their Korean releases are generally more toned down than their Japanese releases. But i stand by my opinion that i personally find Where Is The Truth their best Album, although i also really like United Shadows and it's a close second, but Where is The Truth just has a special place in my heart. That's just my personal prefference though.
Again i love how you notice the linkin park influence the vocalist's favorite band is linkin park. React to this song by him React to the ft island vocalist lee hong ki and another rock band vocalist ha hyun woo sing this song it's great. ruclips.net/video/Lbkz8sIqTC4/видео.html
I really enjoy watching ur videos, ur very humble and nice and always react so enthusiastically to the songs and performers, keep up the good work! If u ever have time and want to react to this song its really good: ruclips.net/video/XrAozjxulqM/видео.html Its a jrock band called −真天地開闢集団−ジグザグ (-Shintenchi Kaiho Group-Zigzag) and the song is 忘却の彼方 (Beyond Oblivion)
