Just back from Daoiri's Weymouth gig at St Laurence's Church. My 3rd time hearing him live in Dorset and his singing never fails to totally grab me by the heart strings and give 'em a damned good twang, as if it was his bouzouki! I find myself struggling to contain tears - of what? Is it joy or something less easily categorised? - on even seemingly innocuous songs like The Creggan White Hare (which he sang this evening as an encore so soon after I yelled it from the front row it can't have been the cause!) Beautiful. So nice of you to share a piece of local life. Your traditional and beautiful inclusive singing should be a part of every culture. Here are in California it's really only found in religious settings. But you do find rampant and gross materialism on full display, wastefulness, and plastic surgery here, so what more can you ask for? 😂
