      The french is hard to play for a beginner cause there are many lines you have to know or you will end up losing to some nasty attacks

    Please showcase Grishuk particularly the games against Carlsen and Caruana. I enjoy his positional system playing both white and black. I can see how the top players can predict his positional preferences. Love the warning "don't play the French particularly against Grishuk".

    I don't know if this is a good idea, but a few days ago the Game Grumps played chess on their channel for the third time. It wouldn't be very educational, but it might be funny to examine a game between a guy that kind of knows what he's doing against a guy that has no idea what he's doing. Especially since they're also big on RUclips.

      Study piece to piece relationships: like how a pawn can defend every other piece on the board.
      Start off by playing a friend with limited pieces. This will vastly help simplify how they work with each other.

      You could get your FIDE rating by simply playing rated games traditionally in real life, in clubs, or you could get an artificial rating on a chess website like lichess.org or chess.com, but online ratings can be very inflated.
