- If you are trying to find the top Soul Food restaurant in Louisville, then your search is over. Daddy Vic’s Soul Food is as good, if not better than any other places I have ever reviewed. The owners, Monique and Clarence are as nice and welcoming as can be, so stick around until the end of the video and meet them. The rest of the employees are also very attentive and polite. Don’t be afraid to ask for a sample taste of items before you order, and don’t forget to ask about the “Boss Sauce”. Family owned and operated. Support local!!
been there several times . The family is great I love this place.. Sunday is the day to get in there. Chicken and dressing OMG.
I’m going to be back there soon and it will be a Sunday.
Thanks for the cool review...I've been about three times since seeing this: once with a friend, once with my girlfriend, and once with my mother...simply put, EVERYBODY loves it (and if you only knew how picky my mother is, that is quite the accomplishment).
Everything is cooked to perfection, good sized healthy portions, super warm and friendly staff...and if anybody checks this place out you simply HAVE to order that off-the-hook peach cobbler for dessert.

Really nice video, Barry - it is always good hearing from the owners of the establishments you visit! Soul food is my favorite of all foods, and those shoulder bones have really tender meat, after being cooked for hours! All the food looked delicious. Love peach cobbler also! I liked the way Mary polished off those wings. This will be my next restaurant to visit! Thanks for the video

There cabbage is absolutely slammin'. Love the meatloaf too. We worked odd hours, and it was tough to get in there when they were open. Saturdays were pretty much the only day we could get in there but had a blast in my travels to Louisville and this was right down the street from where we stay every time we come up there.

Me my mother and big brother ate there shortly after they opened and we was amazed at the flavors of the food,the hospitality and scenery,we dined in right by the TV’s and ordered two types of fish(thick huge pieces too) cabbage (our favorite) Mac N Cheese corn bread and peach cobbler with some singles of their kool aid and every bit of it was very enjoyable we even took a couple cabbages to go lol .
We even ordered our thanksgiving turkey from them shortly after in Nov 2022,we’ve been back multiple times until my mom and big brother passed away and I haven’t been back since..we loved their food and I’m glad we had that experience together trust me they are worth the visit and I never say this stuff about restaurant soul food on platforms like this so that’s saying something 🔥💯💪🏾🌹🙏🏾

My boyfriend and I tried Daddy Vic's for the first time today and it was fire! Delicious soul food and great customer service! The ambience was so impressive with the saxophonenest playing in the background.

Lord help me that food looks absolutely 💯 % DELICIOUS 😋 I use to promote concerts in that city Louisville in 1988-1990 At a venue called The Louisville Gardens I believe it was we Co promoted Keith Sweat there and the R&B group GUY we use to stay at the HYATT Hotel downtown when there I use to support a sista that had a record store downtown back then called TIFF'S RECORDS we still had Albums and cassette tapes then 😁
Cool story. Louisville gardens is still there but is used as store by the city.

I grew up in Evansville Indiana just down 64 west from Louisville when i was into concert promotions i did a couple shows in Louisville KY at a venue called the Louisville gardens or garden i believe it was i did keith Sweat there 1988 or 89 i was living in Atlanta then im retired in vegas now i hit 60 on the 30th of this month its been tears since i been to Louisville i might come for Derby weekend im going to check and see if that Htatt Regency is still downtown i believe it was on Jefferson ave and i use to support a Sista that had a record store Downtown called Tiffs records i believe. Yeah good times young and hungry like im getting looking at that Beautiful food im on my way 😊😋🙏🙏🙏💯💯💯🦾🦾🦾

I would recommend you come any other week besides derby, unless you’re actually going to the derby. The hotel prices are outrageous that weekend.

Barry my friend, great review & food looks delicious, I did not realize Louisville area had so many mom/pop places even though I've been down that way quite a few times, yes, shoulder bone meat is great, do they use neck bones( turkey) in their green beans ?, good flavor. I think you have a surgery to come, I have 1-2 more on my back, let me know so I can pray a specific prayer, God Bless you all pal

When you ate today, you ate normally and it was very pleasing to see. You don’t always have to do that stupid double turtle snap every time you eat something. Lotta times it’s a turn off but today it was nice to see you eat normally.

That place is on my list. Those neck bones look great.
They gave daily rotating menu. Call ahead and see when it’s neck bone day.
Those shoulders look like neck bones…the food does look good, like my grandma used to make.
Wow you have on A university of EVANSVILLE Jersey on I was raised in that city went to Stanley Hall grade school that use to set on Bayard Park and Evans it was tore down in the early 70's and built back as a alternative school for bad behavior students. I was part of the Busing of the Black students to the Caucasian schools I went to Washington grade school and graduated from Bosse HS and left for the US NAVY in 1983 and never came back to live there but still have a lot of family on my mother's side there.That City Evansville has some of the Absolute Best Thin Crust Pizza 🍕 cut in squares you ever could imagine and the Strombolis at PIZZA KING on Weinbach and I loved Roca Bar and STEVES UNO PIZZA IS THE HANDS DOWN BEST TIN CRUST IN THE CITY OF EVANSVILLE INDIANA I Get his pizza mailed to me next day FEDEX here in LAS VEGAS NV the location on St James Blvd 😋❤️❤️🩹❤️🔥💯💯💯👍👍👍
Pizza King Stromboli’s can’t be beat, especially at the weinbach location. I did my student teaching at Bosse.
