    Dear Sarah, thank you for bringing the Vine to our attention. I was totally unaware of the significance of this building from a Tudor perspective. And it is indeed poignant to consider Anne spent time during her last Summer on earth here. Thank you so much for sharing. Blessings, Colleen XXX

      Yes, some great history and some fabulous Tudor interiors - the panelling in the long gallery is unique. I hope you get there one day, Mark.

    Thanks so much Sarah. What an interesting and informative video Great to see you out and about exploring again..
    I don't believe I've heard of this great house before so it's always cool to find about something new especially anything Anne Boleyn and Tudor related. Love the red brick exterior. The panelling in the long gallery is a sight to behold, particularly the emblem of Catherine of Aragon.

    Thank you Sarah for this video and information. I hadn’t any idea place so intimate with Queen Anne existed there. How I wish you offered private tours.

    • @TheTudorTravelGuide

      You are so welcome! I know but my time is so limited, to effectively cost a private tour would just probably make it too expensive to be viable. So it just my weekend immersion and group tours atm. Thanks for tuning in!

    What was Henry VIII’s favorite palace that he and Queen Anne Boleyn stayed at? Thank you in advance! ❤️🔥❤️👑
    I’d also love to know where Mary Queen of Scots spent more of her time in Scotland while she ruled???
    Thank you! ❤️

      Probably Greenwich Palace, although they both took a keen interest in developing Whitehall palace after it was taken over from Cardinal Wolsey. Anne Boleyn knew Hampton Court but actually, she didn't spend too much time there and never lived to see the new privy apartments that were being constructed for her. Sadly, only Hampton Court survives for us to go and enjoy. Thanks for your question!

      @@TheTudorTravelGuide wow! Thank you for answering me! Interesting to know!!! Yes Wolsey gave his palace if I’m not mistaken when the Cardinal gave his luxurious palace to Henry who made it luxurious for Anne!

    Queen Anne Boleyn the most important Queen of England for without her no Elizabeth her hidden poet son King Fr Bacon author of Shakespeare and entire English renaissance.

      Some historians believe Katherine of Aragon was the most important queen. She led a battle against the Scots and won, the Scottish king being killed, while Henry was away in France. Her mother had been a warrior queen taking tiny Katherine to battle with her. If Katherine had agreed to an annulment from Henry Vlll the entire course of English history would have altered. The king would not have cut England off from Rome, nor changed the laws and religions so he could marry Anne. There would have been no reformation, no uprising from the North, no destruction of the Abbeys with the monks and nuns thrown out to beg on the streets. If Anne had produced sons Henry would likely have stayed with her but still had mistresses and Anne would have faded away into obscurity, There would not have been ruptures with the Emperor, Katherine's nephew. Princess Mary would not have been cut off and castigated by her father nor made a bastard, thus giving her the chance of a foreign royal marriage and children, instead of the suffering embittered queen she became. Elizabeth may have been born but she'd only be one of a brood of children, the sons being more important. She too would have been married off to a foreign prince and had children. All this......if Katherine of Aragon had not stood her ground and demanded her rights as queen, and most of the people of England supported her, even if they had to do so secretly.

    They probably hung tapestries to hide Queen Katherine's emblems from the new Queen Anne.

    • @TheTudorTravelGuide
      @TheTudorTravelGuide  2 года назад +1

      Maybe. If they did there would have been a lot of tapestries needed - its a big space!
