MSG stands for monosodium glutamate. It's basically just a salt that enhances flavour much better. It strengthens the flavour of whatever you use it on; if you put it on lemon, it makes it way more sour than regular salt on lemon. You can extract it from seaweed, chicken, fish, tomatoes, etc. It's the very reason why chicken stock and canned tomatoes are widely used in cooking, because they both contain high amounts of MSG.
fun fact! msg has lower sodium contents than salt, it's usually recommended as a salt substitute.. that said... a bottle in 2 weeks... is concerning....
@@chrisvighagennah that's not a lot of salt. There are many ways spices are packaged. Small bottles, large bottles, and _bags._ Luckily she didnt consume a bag of msg (bags are usually a few kilos). A small bottle would be between 100g-350g, so over 2 weeks that really isnt a lot. Assuming the bottle is 200g, that's 25g of sodium over 2 weeks, that's 71% of the recommended daily intake of salt per day. Pretty good, and surprisingly healthy.
@@kuratse205 please do not conflate pure sodium, salt, and msg as having the same amount of sodium. There is 40% sodium in salt, MSG has 12,8% and the recommended daily consumption is depending on organisation. The USDA and Institute of Medicine recommends less than 2300mg, American heart Institute no kore than 1500mg, and the World Health Organization 2000mg. So when you say it is only 71% of RDA, do you mean pure sodium, or Salt? Because you use that interchangeable in the same sentence. As you said, We dont know the size of the bottle, so that is pure conjecture on assumptions. Besides, the reason you should be careful with adding to much is because you don’t know how much is already added in the form of salts or naturally occurring sodium in the food. But then there is the issue of unknown health risks, if you have a history of heart issues in the family, or liver and kidney issues. Over consumption of sodium can be dangerous in those circumstances. All that said, MSG is one of the safest addtives to food that we have, it’s incredibly well studied.and personally I love the stuff and add it to just about everything in moderation.
@@AdmiralDragonwell, technically, if someone has so much MSG that they have sodium poisoning and die, the body will be decomposed, they will lose hairs in that process

Rainhoe, making MSG rain
And by MSG did they mean Monosodium Glutamate?
Yes
I didn't know that the cat and giri had a collab.
Msg by itself is okay.. same amount of salt has more sodium then msg.. if you use msg.. dont put salt..
Can confirm. You'll get intense headache for the whole day if you mix the two
@@rule66ofcoooohhhh so that’s why. Now it makes sense cuz I used to do this.
nope, entirely depends on how much msg you use. If you msg is more than salt, then yes. you'll get a headache from it.

not even once I got headache because of it~
