FOX Exhaust Pipe Grinding - Cobot + Active Belt Grinder - Use Case - ATJ Automotive - FerRobotics

A part-to-tool grinding application with a cobot (collaborative robot) can significantly speed up production. This combination with a FerRobotics Active Belt Grinder (ABG) handles the grinding of an exhaust pipe inside and outside in 2 working steps. The constant, self-regulating alignment (active compliant force control) between workpiece edge and tool creates a homogeneous grinding pattern for the subsequent polishing process. The cycle time achieved per part would not be feasible in the necessary quality by hand.
The ROI for this system at the customers site (based on work pieces produced) is less than two years.
