While I have never been a fan of Buff Bagwell in WCW, I am happy for him that his is turning his life around for the better. At least he is alive to tell his story, which is more than what we can for others who are not here with us. Also, God bless DDP for helping these guys get their lives together. That man is a treasure. 🙏✝️
The crazy thing is, when you watch that Bagwell Vs Booker T match from RAW, it really wasn't even that bad. There's been dozens of worse matches on WWE tv.
When I saw this was a topic for Dark Side, I was like oh man this is going to be boring, it'll probably be about how Bagwell and his WCW years and lost his opportunity with the WWE. OMFG.. when you hear about the shoot out with his dad and manscaping stories.. I was in shock and at the same time was laughing my ass off. This was definitely an entertaining episode to say the least.
I actually met Buff Bagwell a couple years ago, at my nephew's highschool, he was doing an Indy show with Scott Steiner and Billy Gunn. During intermission buff Invited, my nephew, cousin and I in the ring. He let my nephew wear his goofy hat, and we took pictures with him. He was a decent enough guy.
Wholeheartedly agree about DDP needing his own wing in the hall of fame. That man is a genuine angel on earth and his youtube channel? All this man does is be awesome and help not just wrestlers but everyday people. Love him.
@@thedarkemperor9292 I could honestly see WWE possibly doing that one day because they love making segments and documentaries about wrestlers or employees needing help and rising like a phoenix from the ashes.
That episode of Raw with Booker T v Buff Bagwell was my first Raw. I just realised this as Jason described Austin & Angle beating them both up backstage. As a remember a huge roller door.
Bagwell really is one of the more underrated wrestlers I've seen. Before he broke his neck, he really did have potential to be a top level guy and he was a great worker. After he broke it, he wasn't the same in the ring, but he was ready to be a top babyface and WCW just totally screwed it with that double cross on Rick Steiner. After that double cross, he lost all the momentum as a top guy.
I'm glad that Buff is starting to get his act together thanks to DDP but man this episode was something else. I'll never unsee the reenactment of Judy shaving his balls 😂
My takeaway from this is two things. 1) Maybe Judy was so thankful to have a son that would kill to protect her that shaving his balls was no big thing. 2) I have to wonder how "friendly" Buff and Scorpio truly were if Scorpio is giving interviews that the guy isn't packing. Not a bro move, ESPECIALLY if Buff isn't packing. A bro would lie on camera for you. "I saw him in the shower once and I've never forgotten it." And that's vague enough where it could go either way.
this was a pretty informative episode of dark side of the ring 2 cold Scorpio still looks the same after all these years I learned so much after watching this episode.
I was a WWF fan in middle school when the Buff neck injury happened and I remember how bad it looked when they replayed it, over and over in slow motion. I remember Buff coming back heel, and I always assumed it was a work, from that time until now hearing this episode. Because why would you work against the sympathy of a real neck injury? Oh that's right, because it was WCW.
Too bad they didn’t cover or Air footage of the shoot of the Airplane fight between him and Scorpio! Also Sean Oliver of Kayfabe Commentaries has quite an interesting story about old Buff 😂
Growing up I had the biggest crush on this guy. It's a tie between him and, soap acxtor,Michael Easton as to who was my first crush. Needless to say,I'm glad that it's gone and if it wasn't gone before this it would be gone now. Having his mom shave his balls? My God! I've dated guys who have an affinity for their moms but that's a limit I'm glad to have never hit.
If my mom had ever expressed any interest to shave my testicles, I'd find it deeply disturbing. That is bordering sick. Even more-so than the shooting story.
This turned out to be one of the most fascinating episodes in the series to me. I knew Buff was a goof but I didn't know he was the Honey Boo Boo of pro wrestling.
*Regarding the American Male theme:* Anyone else think the guy that sings is the SAME dude who did Hulk Hogan's "American Made"? Which btw, is actually a GOOD theme for Red & Yellow Hulkster. You guys should listen to the next to get this song out of your heads.
Generally they stay away from people who are with WWE. Although I wonder if HHH would be okay with it. Obviously Vince wouldn't, so they wouldn't bother.
Buff Bagwell that's a mess opportunity never had the world championship always liked him but you gotta give it up for Scotty Riggs that brother been threw it as well they have both had the life respect them both good talk
For the Movie about Buff Bagswll you gotta get Chris Evans as Buff Bagwell And for Judy Bagsell you gotta get Melissa McCarthy Cheis Helmsworth as DDP Danny Trejo as Scotty Riggs
Yeah Buff's a goof but glad Riggs was mentioned by all accounts he was a solid dude that was dealt a bad hand ( trying too re-do a house too be wheelchair accessible isn't cheap in the slightest) not like he was a top guy so not making top money. He looks amazing for his age
27:14 did you really expect the Undertaker to question Vince's booking decision on DDP? The guy hardly said anything about his own streak being broken at Wrestlemania even though he felt like Brock Lesnar did not need it. Plus there was a story of how Undertaker and other guys like JBL did not like DDP because he would come in before and try to lay a match out and they were like and given the animosity between WCW and WWE, they didnt take it lightly. So I would cut Undertaker some slack
Man Me and my two Kids who are 22 daughter and 20 son. We work Indy shows last one I worked the sound for the show. The show had Buff Bagwell as a special guest. My daughter said who the douche with the weird hat lol. Plus she said Drew could ya imagine knowing this before we met him. I miss out on saying Hey who shaved ur balls lol
I grew up in the south around a lot of hillbillies, and they lie through their teeth constantly so I wonder how much of his childhood is a shoot or a work. But a crazy episode , nonetheless. Lol, the calf implants.
with some of the weird facts in this guy's story (specifically the manscaping incident), i wouldn't be surprised to find out there was some serious Freudian shit going on in that household.
The Undertaker let Brock Lesnar end the Streak because Vince McMahon wanted it. U really think Taker had any say so about how Vince booked DDP!? Don't be a mark Jason!
Biggest missed opportunity? Nah. Disappointment? That’s fair. People have all bagged on it being a missed opportunity while never appreciating why it was the way it was. The size of contracts they woudve had to offer all the top names people wanted to see would have been insane. If a top name guy can stay home for a year or life while they collect seven figures to take time away of the grind knowing that the grid of the WWF schedule of the day is gonna be there in a year what amount of money will it take ti get a guy to decide that instead of getting seven figure to rest and spend time with their family that they should pass it up to be on the road 200+ days? It would be safe to assume that the amount would need be substantially more. Now factor in the effect overall on company pay structure and your roster when your largest downside guarantee is $1M with the pay relying on revenue share if you go out and give WCW guys guarantee much higher to convince them to come in right away. Does it seem like your current roster is gonna be cool on the current max grantee number or will they expect that you increase their downside to that level and lead to a much higher cost commitment for an invasion story? Of would it have been best to wait for everybody to join and risk that people would stil care after a year if WCW being gone? Or consider how when the NWO came Scott and Jevi were out immediately with Hall getting let go or Nash being hurt the away and missing so much time. Goldberg was there because he hated it and Sting just wasn’t interested. The angle was never going ti be what people dreamt it would be and as disappointing as it was the way it actually happened did strong business.
Honestly, the way WCW guys were getting treated on television at this time was the main reason why I just gave up on modern wrestling. I’d become a fan of WWF in 91 but I’ve been a wrestling fan long before, but it just looked like Vince was the world richest Mark. On top of all that why would you do that in Tacoma Washington? It was either the week before or the week after they were going to be like in Georgia or North Carolina, which is straight up WCW country and that’s where they should’ve done it but this was all planned by Vince just so he could get his jollies off. Fuck Vince and I’m glad he’s going through it now.
“From bullets to ballsacks” he actually put that in the title 🤣
The Bagwell family sound like they can be characters from the GTA universe.
Dlc for gta 6 when the mods come in
Just a regular pro wrestling family like the McMahons.
The Invasion is not just the biggest missed opportunity in WWE History. It is the biggest missed opportunity in WRESTLING history SMH
Yep. A historic, landmark fumble.
I try too forget that even existed talk about horrible timing and extreme pettiness combining into that abortion of an angle
While I have never been a fan of Buff Bagwell in WCW, I am happy for him that his is turning his life around for the better. At least he is alive to tell his story, which is more than what we can for others who are not here with us.

“Oh hey buddy” 😂🤣 11:08
Lost my grandfather last night and wow did I need to listen to this today. Very entertaining. Bagwell had quite the life lol
Sorry for your loss ♥️
Sorry for your loss🙏🏾
Sorry to hear that. I lost mine on January 1st, so I feel for you.
Sorry for your loss
I’m sorry brother, I lost my grandma in 2000 and it still hurts. It’ll get better it’ll just take time. I know he’s proud of you, keep your head up ❤️
I didn't think anything could top Marty Jannety, the first thirty minutes of this blew it out the water.
The crazy thing is, when you watch that Bagwell Vs Booker T match from RAW, it really wasn't even that bad. There's been dozens of worse matches on WWE tv.
Crowd dint give it a chance. Eddie vs Rey Halloween Havoc type effort couldn't have salvaged it on that occasion
“I’m buff. I’m tough. I’m the stuff. And if you get in the ring with me, you’re just…………not enough”
Fans: Marty Jannety has the craziest “Dark Side” story.
Buff Bagwell: Hold my beer….
“Hold my balls”
Buff Bagwell's dad is ALL ELITE.
11:00 Omg! I'm on my lunch break here at work listening to this absolutely cracking up laughing! 😭😭😭
From bullets to ball sacks 🤣🤣
What a title
"From Bullets to Ballsacks" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Trademark that!
should be the title of bagwell's biography
When I saw this was a topic for Dark Side, I was like oh man this is going to be boring, it'll probably be about how Bagwell and his WCW years and lost his opportunity with the WWE. Make an award called the DDP Award dedicated to wrestlers helping out fellow wrestlers and/or the public
@@thedarkemperor9292 I could honestly see WWE possibly doing that one day because they love making segments and documentaries about wrestlers or employees needing help and rising like a phoenix from the ashes.
Scotty Riggs story is very uplifting
That episode of Raw with Booker T v Buff Bagwell was my first Raw. I just realised this as Jason described Austin & Angle beating them both up backstage. As a remember a huge roller door.
I was like you, I was like wtf several times. This story was crazy.
Bagwell really is one of the more underrated wrestlers I've seen. Before he broke his neck, he really did have potential to be a top level guy and he was a great worker. I've been listening to Solomonster for years, and this is the hardest I've laughed at anything in idk how long. This was hilarious.
Solomonster you are one of my favourite youtubers absolutely hilarious DDP is a wrestlers angel what a man
“I’m not sure Steve gave em the best coke.” 😂
Even Norman Bates would be horrified by that bathtub story.
And Chris Chan would get Chris Solid.
Bagwell sounds just about as bright as his fellow Trumpers
I'm glad that Buff is starting to get his act together thanks to DDP but man this episode was something else. I'll never unsee the reenactment of Judy shaving his balls 😂
Mom shaving his balls….I’ll never be able to unhear this.😝😝😝🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My takeaway from this is two things.
1) Maybe Judy was so thankful to have a son that would kill to protect her that shaving his balls was no big thing.

We need a Hurricane vs Buff Bagwell feud on TV at some point
this was a pretty informative episode of dark side of the ring 2 cold Scorpio still looks the same after all these years I learned so much after watching this episode.
Yep. Still looks like the same crackhead he looked like in 91
2 cold Scorpio was awesome in ecw
I cried listening to the story about the balls 😂
24:29 I’d have been so tempted to ask “Buff, where’s the stuff?”
I havent laughed this hard in a while. Thanks solomonster
And if you don't pick him, then I guess you're just not enough.
The guy teamed up with Heisenberg to battle a monkey.
Emptying a home owned machine gun on a pack of geese sounds like the most american thing ever 😂😂😂
The Bagwells reminded me of every rich family in every small town in the USA
Holy shit, this episode was amazing! Buff will always be the Stuff!
Buff daddy 4 life
I'm not going to lie I would love to see Bagwell return to the wrestling scene, probably as a manager for a young tag team.
Only in America could a story like this happen.
And only with Bagwell would you have a parent hand your group of friends some dope before going out like they’re a pack of condoms.
The title 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 solomonster got me corpsing at work
Too bad they didn’t cover or Air footage of the shoot of the Airplane fight between him and Scorpio! Also Sean Oliver of Kayfabe Commentaries has quite an interesting story about old Buff 😂
one can only wonder what else buff and mama bagwell have done that nobody has walked in on. good god.
To be fair, compared to what too cold Scorpio is rumored to be packing everyone is small.
Growing up I had the biggest crush on this guy. It's a tie between him and, soap acxtor,Michael Easton as to who was my first crush. Needless to say,I'm glad that it's gone and if it wasn't gone before this it would be gone now. Having his mom shave his balls? My God! 😂😂😂 Please tell me you developed better instincts by the time you actually started dating
If my mom had ever expressed any interest to shave my testicles, I'd find it deeply disturbing.
That is bordering sick. Even more-so than the shooting story.
This didn’t feel like a Dark Side episode 😂
I was not shocked at all when he said that he became a stripper right after high school LOL. Of course a guy like him would do that.
Wow this was a WILD episode 😂
Buff bag well is a wcw legend
Fastenyourseatbeltsfolks!!!!😂😂😂😂😂
At least you can see the logic in a Custody of Dominic match.
No wonder Ric befriended Judy. Only Bagwells could match Steiners in their insanity
Buff is the stuff. I still love Marcus Bagwell!
Same
After all these years we still can’t get enough.
9:15-11:25: I have NEVER laughed so hard at this story. I know I should be deeply disturbed by this story, but I can’t help but laugh so fucking hard.
This was a crazy story bagwell had a crazy life talking balls & a slap.
This turned out to be one of the most fascinating episodes in the series to me. I knew Buff was a goof but I didn't know he was the Honey Boo Boo of pro wrestling.
That title has New York Times Best Seller written all over it
Buff’s dad should’ve been a character on WCW too 😂
*Regarding the American Male theme:* Anyone else think the guy that sings is the SAME dude who did Hulk Hogan's "American Made"? Which btw, is actually a GOOD theme for Red & Yellow Hulkster. You guys should listen to the next to get this song out of your heads.
You should’ve use the bullets to balls as the title . Bagwell was one of my wrestlers as a kid
Enjoyed this episode. One of few that didnt depress me beyond belief
Same Eric Bischoff is right Buff Bagwell is lovable
I am actually surprised they didn't try to get Shane Helms' side of the story.
What's up with that?!
Generally they stay away from people who are with WWE. Although I wonder if HHH would be okay with it. Obviously Vince wouldn't, so they wouldn't bother.
just watched the ep on RUclips. never knew about the fight with hurricane
My question is who didn't Scorpio like in WCW
Road Warrior Hawk. They got into a fight when WCW was in North Korea.
Stars and Stripes was a great team 💪
EDIT: ...And now I'm to the part about ball shaving... What. The. Hell. 😲
same here, I don't know how many wtf I said during this episode. It was absolutely bonkers. A lot of the things I'd rather die than tell people 🤣
Buff Bagwell that's a mess opportunity never had the world championship always liked him but you gotta give it up for Scotty Riggs that brother been threw it as well they have both had the life respect them both good talk
good review
Hurricane vs Buff Bagwell will be very interesting
They need to cover WCW New Blood Rising as a future episode because there is so much shit to go through.
WCW 2000 in general would be a 3 part episode. But it's also been beaten like a dead horse, so there's nothing new most people wouldn't already know.
For the Movie about Buff Bagswll you gotta get Chris Evans as Buff Bagwell
And for Judy Bagsell you gotta get Melissa McCarthy
Cheis Helmsworth as DDP
Danny Trejo as Scotty Riggs
This was wild.
Couldn’t he have waited the contract out like the other WCW guys? He should’ve debuted when Steiner did.
He was the stuff!
What did I just listen too

Judy bagwell on a forklift match Russos idea
Personally, I kinda like the outlandish storylines, like the DNA Match or Big Boss Man stealing The Big Show’s dead dad’s casket 🤣🤣
I guess buff Bagwell wanted to top marty jannetty from last season.
Buff bag well dad, mark were a great millionaire,I do remember Judy bagwell almost became Chris kanyon 's Kimberly
This is absolutely hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂😂
with some of the weird facts in this guy's story (specifically the manscaping incident), i wouldn't be surprised to find out there was some serious Freudian shit going on in that household.
When I was 15 I got my first job washing dishes for 2.25 an hour. Your both privileged.
Missy Hyatt was the first girl backstage interview person

FANTASTIC REVIEW ON THE BUFF BAGWELL DARK SIDE OF THE RING EPISODE SOLOMONSTER 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Listening to this review, My thoughts are simply Buff Bagwell is basically Oedipus with a physique 😬🫤
