Airbus A330 - the perfect A300. History and description

- Airbus A330 is a long-haul wide-body twin-engine airliner.
The A330 origin dates to the mid-1970s as one of derivatives of Airbus first A300 airliner. The A330 was developed in parallel with the four-engine A340, which shared many common airframe components but differed in number of engines. Both airliners incorporated the most advanced technology of their time.
In 2017 the A330 made a new step. The Airbus developed the new A330neo (New Engine Option) airliner.

The A330 series really is perfect, it's comfortable, reliable and definitely gets the job done :D
The 2+4+2 seating in the A330, results in only 2 undesirable seats. 75% of the seats have an aisle or window resulting in the best economy seating in a production aircraft.
BRIAN O'DWYER absolutely right, 787 is 1-2 inches wider, why do airlines put a 3-3-3 configuration. I dont care about marketing nonsense of quieter engines, dimming windows, better cabin pressure, blah blah blah etc. If I'm sat in a sardine can seat for long haul flights. You never have to worry about that on a 330
Not to start the Boeing vs. Airbus nonsense, but I prefer the 767’s 2+3+2 for obvious reasons.
BRIAN O'DWYER I'm sorry but in my experience a Boeing 777's 3+3+3 seating is WAY better than Airbus A330 and A340s' 2+4+2 seating which are freakinly cramp! Airbus A330 and A340 seat are narrow that only skinny people can seat comfortably where 777s wide 9 abreast can seat 9 NON skinny, normal build adults in a row! For those who bitch about 3+3+3 seating on B777s, then how about Boeing 747 Jumbo's 3+4+3 as well as (assumingly) narrower 777's economy?
Oh BTW the widest economy seats I've experienced was Emirates' A380 3+4+3 which is the best followed by any 777's 9 abreast.
@@t8polestarcyan22 777s in 3-3-3 configuration are increasingly rare. Most carriers have moved to the more dense 3-4-3 config. But I agree with you, the width of the 777 is nice.
There is a 3-3-3 seat configuration on the a330
The most beautiful airliner in my opinion. So graceful, everything is in perfect proportion.
„Yanks have toys on their own!“ Thanks for this comment mate, absolutely hilarious :D
It is a successful and proven wide body plane for Airbus. Quite the workhorse of several airlines worldwide for long routes. A graceful aircraft and loved by many passengers.
It's a comfortable plane for passengers for sure, but a beast in the sky for pilots.
i love the 747 and 777 but to be honest, as a frquent traveler, when i see the a330 i book the a330 flight.
its comfy since it has the 2-4-2 seating (777 mostly have 3-4-3 except some airlines like korean air) and its quiet. perfect for a long haul flight to sleep the whole trip
drFu Manchu , the same for me. Also the smaller plane, the shorter line at the customs.
I agree, except that the Last time I did this, a very obese passenger sat next to me.
Sometimes I wonder at the silliness of our devotion to Airbus or Boeing. I have flown A330 many times and it’s an excellent plane. I prefer the 787 primarily because of the improved air pressure and humidity...I have a health issue that this really impacts for long haul flying. And all according to the airline, I’ve had fabulous and arduous experiences on the 777. I think the A321neo is a great plane, but always thought the cabin size of the 767 was the most comfortable ever, so cannot wait to fly on the 797. Can we agree both companies make some great planes?
@@davidsilver4339 767 to me was the worst plane they've ever made, it's a big 737, loud and obnoxious ping noise especially if you're close to the engine. (flown american 767)
Van Romondt the comparison to the 737 makes no sense in any way shape or form. The 767 is an old plane, with lots of limitations compared to newer planes, but it had the best seat layout of ANY plane. The 797 will be fantastic.
Eveytime I think of the 330 I think of commercial aviation standard. And I love it.
I absolutely love the A330
Same! I think the RR Trent looks the best on it.
I prefer both Trent700 and GeCf6
Sky KoreSCL me too. It is quiet and comfortable as a passenger.
Me too. I flew it last year on Air Transat when I flew to Toronto from Gatwick
S@me
Watching this in 2019 and the A330 is still set for a good future. The slow-selling A330neo has already received many orders from Delta, AirAsia and Emirates. I have flown on the A340 many years ago and it was an amazing experience. Gonna fly on an A330 in about a month and really excited.
That A330neo looks awesome
A330 is basically an A300 shouting "THIS IS MY FINAL FOOOOORM!" and an A350 is an A300 screaming "AND THIS IS WHEN I HAVE TO GO EVEN BEYOND!"
The title is really relevant. Indeed the A330 is the perfect A300. I find the A330 more elegant when equipped with Rolls Royce Trent 700 engines.
I agree with you
@@Rami358able honestly I can't see the difference. I can only make the difference between the -200 and the -300.
@@Rami358able I do agree with you and that's what I said. the RR Trent 700 engines give a sleeker look the A330.
@@Rami358able for me its A330-323/941
@@sheereenaali8448 -302 = GE engines, -323 = PW engines, -343 = RR engines
The drunk russian accent and effortless humor is unparalleled.
Smug Megumin
Drunk?
It’s more like a Polish accent
Well he is Russian, and his main channel, Skyship, is in Russian. This is the English version of that channel
Smug megumin nice
I must be an idiot. I thought it was from one of the Scandinavian countries. 😂
Glad Airbus built a plane to carry all the stuff we buy on Amazon lol. Also, Australia (Royal Australian Air Force) also operates the A330 MRTT. Aussies love Airbus!
I’m about to fly on a Hawaiian Airlines A330. Never been on one before so the first channel I went to for information was Sky. I love your channel!
my favorite long haul ride before the introduction of the A350
One of the most beautiful planes ever!
"It can carry 70 tons of stuff you bought on Amazon"
That's right, people buy too much
A very beautiful wide body twin jet. Long live the A330!!!❤️❤️❤️✈️✈️✈️
Always nice to see A330 arriving in Malaga from Dublin, it dwarf just about everything else
Ah, finally, A330) The best)
This, along with the a320 are my favorite Airbuses
Aesthetically speaking one of my favourite planes!
Bravo! I love the way you tell the stories of these aircraft and also manage to mix in some humour. Please keep making more!
1:20 beautiful landing.
Great video again, love your videos. If you seek footage of the a340 like you mentioned, let me know! My best regards!
I love these videos
I’ve been watching ever since the A300
Can’t wait for the A340
lookin forward for the A340.. my fav Airbi
Amazing plane, sadly lived short life. Love A340!
Well it actually was in production far longer (21 years) than the L-1011 (14)and DC-10 (20 years) with nearly as much units sold as the later.. tought the A340 case is a bit more complex as it is tecnically the same plane as the A330 with the 340 being a 4 engines and a higher MTOW (and an extra landing gear bugie) ultra long range variant.. actually both are tecnically variants of the A300..
What I love about the A340 is being immune to the ETOPS regulations where airlines needed a proper long distance, trans oceanic flights. Now a days only larger, heavier planes like B747s and A380 need four engines. Others can have twin engines due to improved reliability of turbofans.
I fly A320s but would jump at the chance to fly the 330. Such a magnificent plane...
The most beautiful bird!
I love these videos! :)
a330 is the best plane out there...looks amazing
I love your humor!
Excellent video thanks
I love Airbus A330 !
love the commentary on your videos!!
It’s a beautiful airplane!
The plane I always end up on when going over an ocean, recently took a Delta Airbus 330-200 to Hong Kong, from Seattle, such a quiet plane, engines just hum at take off and when cruising
Indeed. Delta loves the A330. It's their go-to plane from NY to Paris as well.
A good one. Love this model
Agree
Best plane out there for sure! Love flying it.
My favourite aircraft
nice work!
Man I just watched this video and youve just earned a subscriber :D
Good background information Thanx
Wonderful..
Awesome video! I would like to point out though that when explaining the original variants the videos were swapped. What I mean is when you were explaining the -300, the video was of a -200 and vice versa. Still, amazing video looking forward to the A340!
My best flights have been on board A330s.
wow amazing video
I love the way you made the thumbnail includes the best airline on earth.
?
remember the A 380 by airbus was a copy of the 747 as to size and design but couldn’t copy it’s gorgeous looks and it’s ability to perform as a both cargo and passenger plane until they woke up and again it’s capacity and was close to the Queen of the sky !,,
The A330-300. The first and only plane I flew on so far.
I agree the A330-200 is cute
I like Airbus. They get the job done without any fuss..
Comments are lot of fun! Thanks!
This is my second favorite plane
with the rr Trent 700 engines this plane ist definitely the most beautiful plane to fly in the business.
A300 and A310 were ahead of its time. A300 was a first twin engine long haul plane (the main problem was limited range), while A310 was a middle market plane that today nobody offers (the bap between A321 and 787-8). A340 was a disaster for Airbus. It lost with both 747-400 and after upgrade it lost even more market to 737-300ER. A330-200 and today mostly A330-300 won orders over passander 767 and could compete with 787 for many years.
A330 is my favourite aircraft
Perfectly shaped plane
Still the prettiest wide body of them all.
4:26 So, when you fly on this cutie...
This plane looks nice
The a320 looks cute too
Love your videos and the occasional joke with Russian accent! Keep up the good work!
For Airbus my favourite is A330. For Boeing my favoourite is NG 738. Those two looks slick and sexy to me
This is a nice looking plane... I much prefer its appearance to the ugly af 787
just seen in Dublin the fist a 330 300 passenger to fright by dhl nice aircraft.
a330 of thai airways is the first international plane i have flown with
Remember the A 380 was copped from Boing
Subbed...now go make more pls
Can you do one on the A340
I buy so much shit on Amazon I bought an A330 to carry it all.
Hey, awesome video! What about the Beluga XL, though?
I want to make videos about Belugas
I like A330. Question, is Qantas flight (I think 70) isolated issue or this type of aircraft had big problems with in airplane software?
The best Airbus!
noice
i realy like the 330-200, i book a fligth to rio de janeiro on october next year from tap, and gess wath? 330-900 issued on my tiket!! i realy like that!!!yyyyeeesss!!! on the tiket ( aircraft type 339)!!!;;
27natal A330NEO
Your lucky.
OH MY, you are lucky
I would prefer the aircraft to have 4 engines when flying over the Atlantic, just in case!
Canadian’s Air Force still fly’s A310, possible A330 as a replacement
Do you have a video of the M400?
A350 Please......
Trent 700 sounds best on this plane, especially the howl when hitting the balls to the wall
Is A330-300 still in production?
The 777 and A350-1000 look like pipes but this looks like an A300
I thought Air Hawaii the only airline ordering the A330-800? And isn't Airbus nudging them to take the 900?
you have to wonder the wisdom of making the a380 when the a330 was a strong seller. the a330 derivative a340 sold far less which should have given some clues! nice to see they have woken up at last :)
why is the a330 so gud at buttering?
I meant to say “Russian”......as you say the A 3 Chirty :)
A330 is good but I love the 777.
I think Airbus almost got everything perfect with the A-330, it's a fine piece of kit and it's a lot cheaper than most other aircraft in its category.
I like a300
4:06 that’s not an A330-200 it’s a 300
Надеюсь контент этого видео идентичен контенту видео с русскоязычного канала (hope the content of the video is the same as the content in the video on the russian version of the channel)
I wish i could own boing 737...
build Boe Coach line. MaF
Approx 287 passengers ...NOT 440 !
Hmmm hope you got permission to use some of the footage
Why only on A330 and A340 do you see R&R Trent engine nacelle in the rare "hairdryer" shape? What is the back story? Even P&W engine on A330 has cutout at the back.
John The A340 (-200 and -300) engines are CFM, not RR. Also, the ‘hairdryer’ look is also found with the RR engines on the 747-400 and 767 - check out the BA fleet. As for why, I have no idea.
What's so bad about a "hairdryer" shape? It's the most fuel efficient one as it has less resistance than the others.
Flugzeug Dokus I thought about the airflow around the engine and about the fan diameter. The one of the Trent 700 is relatively small compared to the one of the CF6, which produces more resistance.
Just a thought...
What's the point of the A330 when the A350 is better in every way? They should've made what we know as the A350 the A330 neo. Seems a little redundant.
Using your logic of an ‘Aparent’ A300 family of jets you may aswell say all known aircraft types are of the ‘wright brothers’ type? The A300 has gone! The A330 is not part of any A300 type! Its a brand new aircraft type in its own class!
I prefer A330s with Rolls Royce Trent 700 engines
Anyone else spot the Black Series?
