The UK does so much interracial dating you barely see Black couples together in film or TV. The majority of UK actors who are of color have WHITE significant others. Idris Elba is the only UK actor I know of who has a Black or half-black spouse.
Garcelle is a lovely woman of a certain age. She's already had 3 children who are adults. Ricky isn't married, doesn't have kids and only dates white girls. Ain't nothing going to happen between those two.

This is so important. Biracial people are two races, not one, and it's time people start recognizing it. I'm glad to see a biracial person finally saying this. Too often I just see biracial people claiming one side, which is not only inaccurate, but wrong, and it makes it look okay for non-biracial people to label biracial people as one race when they're not. Thank you Ricky Whittle. You are not black, you are not white! You are both!
I don’t think biracial people claim one side on purpose. America is a black and white country. So even when you say “biracial” or “interracial” you think black and white. Race is mostly about phenotypic features. If you look fully black society will address you and categorize you that way. If you appear white or white passing your experience in life will be different. So most biracial people claim what they most look like and how society treats them.

As a biracial person from the UK, so good to hear him talk about being proud to be from both backgrounds but I do remember when tiger woods said the same thing he was mocked in the USA
I have no idea who he is, but everything about him (accent, personality, etc.) just took my breath away.

These racist rich whites couldn't stay in power w/out the help of a divided black community, mistreating one another like this. They'd never be able to stop us if we were united. Tired of seeing ya'll throw away people like this.
It's no wonder Meghan Markle eventually felt suicidal. She had no support from anybody over there. She had black folks not caring if she lived or died, and who literally were F-I-N-E w/seeing her suffer, for the "crime" of being light skinned... and tons of racist whites, who didn't think a woman of color should be marrying "above her station".
She had nobody BUT Harry at that point. And her mother. Her wonderful, accomplished, intelligent & beloved BLACK mother, who she needed to be closer to, which is why I'm so glad they left. It literally saved her life.

Watching everything about him after watching him on 100 🥰. I’m not from the US but live her for almost 20 years. I understand when he says some Americans “live in a bobble” it’s a huge country with soooooo many beautiful places to see and visit, people and culture from all around the world. In nyc alone you can go from Hispanic, to Hasidic Jewish, to Indian to Middle East and back to Harlem. So yeah I’m happy to live in this bubble and travel around the world without really traveling 😆. Anyways... Ricky call me! 😜

The ultimate question is what is race? What is also mixed? Mom and Dad? Grand Parents? Is it a percentage? A school teacher of mine once said " Mixed" is not a race, it's a culture. A lot of people are mixed anyway if it's a matter of percentages. People assign value to one particular 'race' over another or over others. We all bleed, we all need love we all hurt and we all die. Society needs to stop obsessing over colour or ' race' and should focus on the character of an individual.

how old are you? there were many terms to refer to biracials as but many that were deemed degrading. E.g in the Caribbean, before you would have terms like "halfcast" which is offensive to many, but you would also have seperate ethnic groups created for those of a certain biracial background like e.g. Black and Indian. My family is Latino but terms like "mulatto" used to be phrases i would hear a lot growing up until people explained why it was offensive. My grandmother would still call herself that. There are also certain phrases and terms in latin america you would use to describe black people as that would obviously not pass in America
