@@stuart4341 YES, this. Think about this guys, Darth Vader's suit was PURPOSELY outdated! That has been covered before. The emperor did that to make Vader understand he could kill him easily at any time. To the next point, everyone is assuming something incorrectly. The best kind of assistive medical devices don't replace, they allow the body to rebuild itself! The setting is in the future, and in our current time we are just catching up to the idea that instead of just replacing with something inferior, we can work with the body to fix things so eventually you will not need the artificial. It is very likely that the tech used to rebuild Shepard could have been the kind to re-stimulate growth. That is extremely likely here and maybe the reason you hear breathing at the perfect ending. ALSO break down my last sentence again. YOU HEAR SHEPARD BREATHING. You cannot hear things in the vacuum of space. You cannot breathe in the vacuum of space. You cannot even move your chest to make the sound. Shepard has to be in a pressurized environment somewhere.
When zoomed in, CPL can be found hidden in the stitch pattern. The abbreviation for corporal. The mysterious character is none other than Richard L Jenkins - he has risen
You might be onto something here. I just looked up Corporal and Commander and I could not get a straight answer of which is higher. I wonder if Commander Shepard became Corporal Shepard. That might get changed though if it is true. Corporal Shepard was the protagonist of Half Life Opposing Force. That might cause some confusion.
@@keith_5584 We don't know how ranks necessarily work in the Alliance, but in real life, corporal is the lowest rank. In the beginning of ME 1, Shepard seemed to be a fairly high rank since he seemed to be above everyone on the Normandy except for Captain Anderson.
@ Any idea where in the chain of command, commander even is? (in real life) It looks like a non-sanctioned rank. I didnt check British/Scottish, Irish, and French navy’s, but it might not be an exclusive rank. The Scottish invented the Navy technically.
To me, there is no Mass Effect without Shepard. I liked "Andromeda" as a side-step, although I regret the game was underdeveloped and we didn't get any explanatory extra content, but a new "Mass Effect" has to have Shepard in it. If it hasn't, I'll still, reluctantly, buy and play the game, but it still would be unfulfilling. Although, the latter statement cannot be made before having seen and played the new installment. Currently, my "Mass Effect" attention is divided between your and 'Paragon7's releases. I tend to restrain on expectations, but your dissections and fore-seeings are quite interesting, to say the least. I can't do anything but thank you for your endeavours. Greetings from Belgium.
This is what I've been saying!!! It's unfortunate when such a good series has a main character be a staple, because it always makes it hard to continue the series without them. Some great examples would Uncharted series, Jak & Daxter (if they ever were to bring it back in a million years), Ratchet & Clank(although that's a series where the characters never age! lol), but it's just so hard to do a mass effect series without Shepard, and it will also be so hard to finally put the series to rest, but it has to end one day. If they insist on bringing it back though, they have to understand what makes mass effect mass effect, and it seems like they are hinting that they understand Shepard is core to the series.
Bioware already had non-canonized two out of four endings. Liara is in the trailer and she isn't glowing, which removes both Synthesis and Refusal. So all that's left is Control or Destroy. I think the safest bet is to just make the "Destroy/Shepard Lives" ending the canon one. I think even people who preferred Control would be won over when they see their Shepard living with their love interest in ME5.
True. Also, from what I've seen most people prefer destroy. And personally the objective since the beggining of game 1 was to destroy them, while it was the illusive man's idea to control them, and Sarens idea to join them - destroy makes the most sense.
I always thought Liara looked very old in the trailer and that may exclude Shepard being the main character. but i'm really clueless actually, no one really knows.
I agree Kala. I was soo disappointed with N7 day. I was prepared too (or so I thought) for the “quieter” N7 day. But I fully believed we were going to get some concept art and a cryptic tweet from Gamble at least! But nothing is just cruel 😂 imo!
As QA (not for Bioware) It's almost definitely not QA's problem LOL. At most QA goes "Oh, we're putting a reference in? NEAT." and then we make sure your arms don't clip through the sleeves.
Well Shepard's supposed armour got sucked into the Fade, maybe Shepard did too when he disintegrated in either RGB ending. Dragon Age / Mass Effect crossover lol
I am starting to feel like what rich classed people think they do to the "paupers." Throw them a crumb, that will be enough and they should be grateful! I am clearly not talking about the actual developers or the writers. They were throwing out "we are halfway though development" level teasers 3-4 years ago. That's why this hurts so much this year. As they said, that social media manager would have made a strong business case to whomever to give us something better, but its deeper than that. We are anxious because ME3 was so undercooked. The industry needs a spanking, they clearly don't care sometimes and then scream "they are picking on us," while they fill out pink slips for the people who put their soul into a game. That's gotta stop. Writers NEED time to write a good story, you cannot rush that. You have your software engineers start shopping and building while the writers explore and collaborate their ideas. If you wait to develop till after a script is written it won't go well. Have your software engineers build the engine so if better technology gets released while developing, you need to do very little to move to it. Rush and crunch were never acceptable. The shareholders (the ones that throw weight around) are going to have to take a loss to understand or whoever is in charge will need to do it correctly before it gets better. Gamers, writers, and most software engineers put out selves out there for our passion for gaming. We want this to work, some of us put stock in our mental health over it. So don't call us the bullies when a bad call is made, then ruin families by laying off whoever could crunch for you because their children were sick and needed their parents.
I have my own little theory that we will start off as this N7 agent in training. Some things come to pass and we go look for shepherds old team whoever is still around. I’m not sure after that but I think while working with the team we will try to bring him back while chasing leads on information. I like this idea and I can see it happening. I just don’t want it to be the full game. I would like if this happened early in the game almost like a prologue, for us to then turn into Shepard and lead our squad with this new n7 agent for whatever disaster they brought us back for. This way we get to know what the worlds like after the fact and possibly before another conflict starts. This way We also get our classic human civilisation checkup like how we were being told humans are not trusted enough as we saw some of earth. We could see some mostly humans N7 training camps to really bring us back.
I Agree with you. they need to eventually confirm if Shepard is alive or dead. as far as I remember none of the endings actually confirmed Shepard dead. That one ending even showed Shepard take a breath. So If Shepard isn't dead and Liara is searching for her or him(That's my theory, Liara finds a piece of Shepards N7 Armor and somehow that leads her to believe Shepard is still alive after all these years. and she starts searching for her or him) then they need to continue Shepards story. they can't/shouldn't just sweep it under the rug and say "meh" Shepard is old news and leave it at that. Mass Effect is Shepard, Shepard is Mass Effect. in my opinion
Said this for the past few N7s now, they really need to confirm Shepard in/out as soon as possible. If only to manage expectations. People are going to be pissed either way but it's far easier to deal with that further out than closer to the game being an actual reality. If this ends up following the Andromeda template, as in tease, tease, tease, GOTCHA! then I think the game will be DOA come what may. Having mulled this over ever since the original tease announcement/trailer, I've firmly come down on the side of "no Shepard, no purchase". I have no interest in building an entirely new character at this point. If they go the other way then I'm totally fine with that, it's their prerogative, but I'll be tuning out as soon as that becomes clear. So again, c'mon BW, throw us a bone so I can either get VERY interested, or stop caring.
I find it interesting that the Spectre jacket was revealed last year on a woman (or at least what appears to be), but then they showcase the REAL jacket on a man this year. Makes me think...
I definitely don't think they are even trying to imply that Shepard is going to be the protagonist of the next game. I think whoever was writing the descriptions and names for the promotional items was just having a little fun and the product information on the store is just intended to sell the thing to people. I'm still 100% convinced until proven otherwise that in the next Mass Effect game we'll be a brand new N7 Spectre, likely set quite long after the trilogy.
Ok, but what about the chest in Veilguard? It contains a very similar coat and it comes with a note saying the chest was "shepherded" from the Fade and that it reminds her of something an old friend would wear. The note is written by a VG companion voiced by the same actress as Liara
@l10zzardk1ng2 I explained my thoughts there in my comment, whatever writer on the team who wrote the description just wanted to hearken back to something familiar.
Ok, but they didn't add any armor previously worn by Shepard in any game, but added a new one known only from last years teaser, and called it Shepard's. It's really a dangerous game if they give us a new protagonist.
The fact there has been basically nothing for a whole year since the trailer with the new N7 character is really frustrating. Dont release a trailer if ylu arent prepared for more marketing.
Bioware has been very busy with their work on different games, but the recent news I heard is that they will be focusing on ME5 for the future. Bioware is a company that stretches itself too thin sometimes so it is to be expected.
I think you're looking into the armor too much, ME3 had the Blood Dragon armor which was directly from DA, I think the Veilguard armor is the same thing and saying it was "shepherded" was just another nod to the franchise being that it came from the character who also voiced Liara. It's just a multilayered shoutout I think, and I'm not going to have any expectations, but what's concerning me is that a lot of people are already gearing up to hate bomb it like they did Andromeda. We didn't get real closure with Andromeda other than a graphic novel, and it's all because they decided it wasn't worth the effort trying to please people.
but they are using things pulled from a trailer for a new game, so it is implying a lot of things. It's pretty obvious what they are doing and she is right about it, they are playing a game where people will end up pissed off because they are creating expectations for something that might not be true.
Ok, but they didn't add any armor previously worn by Shepard in any game, but added a new one known only from last years teaser, and called it Shepard's. It's really a dangerous game if they give us a new protagonist.
I think the in-game reason for the jacket being attributed to Shepard is that the council made it to honor him/her as the N7 hero of the galaxy. A new protagonist is wearing the new jacket, simply called "Shepard's Jacket". Shepard saved the galaxy so it's inhabitants will most likely hail them as a superhero and attribute a lot of things to Shepard. For example, in-universe there could be multiple movies and documentaries about Shepard.
*"This N7 Day was a disappoint"* _Not if you're a Legendary Edition modder, we got a lot of cool mods from the Mass Effect Modding youtube channel_ EDIT: But also, BioWare probably want Veilguard to actually sink in for the year until N7 Day 2025, at least that's what I'm assuming
That's exactly what they wanted. That's why they focused on Veilguard for this year's N7day plus No Man's Sky got the Normandy, which is pretty cool. I'd say it was a pretty decent N7day
You can day that again. Having me2 abilities in me1 is like mods of the year. I have literally never been more excited to play me1 as it's female my least favorite mass effect to play. And I've single now had changed all that
@kingcrowley2871 I wouldn't say so now for concept art of this game. With today's technology they should actually be able to create what they draw, unlike in past games.
Its fucking unbelievable, Dragon Age Veilguard is the hot topic of the moment, N7 happens, not even 1 single concept, tease image? I dont understand the lack of action in some companies...
I agree that there seems to be some confusion regarding "Shepard or not Shepard" in the skant teases released so far. I also agree that Bioware are playing a potentially dangerous game with the success of ME5 and maybe follow-ups. If not clarified soon, one half of the ME followers are going to be very dissapointed and possibly disinfranchised with the upcoming game, instead of warming to whichever route Bioware selects. Personally I prefer Shepard to be the protagonist, despite the complexities of making that work following the 3 diffent endings to ME3. Having said that, I am fairly sure most of us used them all. It should also be recognised that these choices don't effect game play. They only effect the end cinematics of ME3, except the old man talking to a boy about "The Shepard", suggesting many more stories could be told. Having worked hard to get a reputation for my character in the preceding games, the idea of starting again under the shadow of a dead hero, Shepard, is less appealing at the moment.
Nah, it wasn’t Jay. We can be honest, with the results of the election we all just needed something to take our minds away for at least 24 hours and we didn’t get it, lol
I just don’t like their reasoning for a lame N7. Just because Veilguard came out. That just sounds like a poor excuse and yes I know they probably don’t want to undermine the hype around veilguard but come on. They’ve already said all hands on deck for mass effect so they’ve even moved on already.
I agree with you that the N7 is heavily tied to Shepard and BioWare will pass a lot of people off of they use the N7 marketing and there's no Shepard. I too believe it's not Shepard in that trailer and that trying to have a new protag follow in Shepard's shoes would be incredibly difficult. I'm curious to see comments from Mike Gamble as he's been interesting to see comment on different posts related to Dragon Age. Now that Veilguard is out, I'm expecting to see him comment more on Mass Effect centered posts.
Im not putting any hope in Mass Effect 5 but I am looking forward to Exodus and believe Bioware is going to have its work set out for them to match or beat Exodus
It def feels like BioWare is in its death throes and unless they somehow manage to pull through and make me5 the best mass effect game ever made they're done
YES! THIS! They gotta know that the fandom was gonna grasp for straws and maybe take this as a hint. I'm personally hoping it's not a hint. It took the focus to the vielguard all of a sudden. I get that they need the sales, but N7 day is for mass effect things. I hope that wasn't their way of teasing, and it's just another cool armor crossover like in ME2/ME3. Although the timing of it is what is confusing... I'm with you. They need to put this Shepard debacle to bed sooner than later. Rip the bandaid off. Nobody wants the shock of how andromeda started. They had to have learned some lessons from the past this time around. One can hope 😅
It is starting to get annoying how much they are tip toeing on the line of confirming whether Shepard will return as the protagonist or not. I don't think it would be a huge blow for them to just straight up just say yes or no. Sure if the protagonsit of ME5 is Shepard they have a LOT to live up to. It might be easier on them if it's a new protagonist but man... I do wish they bring back Shepard and absolutely nail the continuation of the ME Trilogy.
They don't say it now because there is still a long way to go before the game comes out, so they throw out these vague clues, for me in the next trailer they release it will be confirmed whether Shepard returns or not. PS: I don't know why but Gamble's tweet made me hope to see something at The Game Awards xdd
I've played a little with last year's teaser video and audio bc I still think I've missed something. After I've decoded the transmission in 2022 I don't really believe they'd let a trailer just be a trailer. Either they made it harder to decode, or there's nothing there and I have a severe case of searching for deeper meaning syndrome. I haven't played any DA games but I'm glad you've made this video. I also see what you saw behind the item descriptions. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Bioware needs to stop teasing and building hype for the next ME... . Before expectations are out of control just like with MEA.... And we all know how that ended... In 2019 they announced they where going to make a new ME game. That's some 4 years back and before we get it at least another 3 years maybe 4 ...so tell the fanbase what the idea is ( shep back or not )and give them updated until release, it keep fans excited with out out of control hype
I am both disappointed and not at the same time I did expect maybe a new poster or some more concept art but with Mike saying 2 different times that they were gonna be quiet due to veilguard I was already kinda expecting nothing, just kinda didn’t seem like the year for anything with the last couple having some cool teasers and them officially going into full development they probably didn’t have time to put anything together but also getting just a jacket and veilguard cosmetic is pretty much nothing lol I think I woulda been fine with them doing nothing and just putting the trilogy on sale.
I believe we won't play as Shepard, but they will be present on the game somehow, maybe recorded codex or resurrection. I feel like they will be relevant to the story.
That would be so frustrating to import your save or for many people on new consoles to have to manually recreate the character and choose the decisions nade only for it to barely matter
@stuart4341 yeah, I hope they learn from DA veilguard and go on a different route, if Shepard is in the game, most decisions from the previous games must be addressed, ME3 ending above all.
@@jonaspetty8767 Thing is... based on the ending selected in ME3, each of those could be *completely* separate games. That would actually be super interesting. Import the ME3 character to see which game you're getting... lol (and require replays - or, at least ME3 ending replays to get the save file desired)
@@ecviets Yeah! That's what intrigues me the most, I think they have the chance to do something awesome with this. I think that the most realistic approach is to do the same overall story but the world is completely different for each ending you got. Some characters would have slightly different personalities and would react differently to the same decision, and so on. Same story overall, but a lot of substantial differences depending on the ME3 ending you got. I would love to put a big beard on my Shepard this time, never got the chance to do that on any of the games lol.
I feel bad for Gamble. Hes like one of the only veteran staff left and the DA:Veilguard release just put even more pressure on an ME sequel, which invariably will piss some fans off - given it will need to canonize an ending choice from ME3 or side step that matter creatively. Frankly, i think they are better off canonizing if it allows them to tell a better story/make a better game.
They are definitely fucking with us as they have done before and it will bite them in the ass as it have before. I agree that they are going to introduce a new protagonist or make liara the main protagonist. Can or should they bring back Shepherd ? Yes they should, the same way they resurrected him in ME2, but will they l don’t think so.
Yep, you really do 🙂 But I'd recommend stop watching videos spoiling anything of the plot 😅 Though maybe you already know most of it since it's quite an old game at this point. Either way, I highly recommend getting the legendary edition and prepare to have your mind blown by this universe 👍
@@suburbantimewaster9620 Even if you can't, watch a compilation of the romances or the game piece by piece. I was very ill, and needed something to pull me away from it. ME did it. First I started with Tali's story. Most of the videos out there don't spoil the main story when it comes to the romances. They are freestanding. If you are having problems running the game, and have the time to play it I would highly recommend playing it on Nvidia's Geforce Now. You will still need to buy the game and a controller, but if your PC can't run the game its a much cheaper option. You can even run the app on Smartphones if you get a bluetooth controller. I believe the first tier is free for Geforce now, but I have been using it since it was BETA on the nVidia Shield Portable so I might be in a grandfathered state. Priority is very affordably priced. Geforce now works with many Steam games and Ubisoft games so you just link your accounts. If you already own it on Steam and its possible it will popup on Geforce Now. Can't recommend that enough if you have only sections of time between things to game.
The way I see it is that they are under no obligation to give us anything on any specific day (Nov. 7th or otherwise). So I never expect anything at any time. Makes it literally impossible for me to be disappointed because I never expect something that doesn't happen. Instead, when we DO get something, I can just be excited for whatever that tidbit is. That's the best way to go about it imo.
After Andromeda Bioware learnt that hearts are not to be played with. Let's hope they still remember this lesson, because if they don't, then it will be a great disappointment for the fans
If you want to talk about someone in the past you would use the words 'would have worn'. Using 'would wear' implies it is something either in the present or the future. And yes, I'm right there with you in the good ship 'Overanalysis SR3' XD
Technically you could have Ryder wear their father's armor, so they could be the one wearing the N7 armor on the cover and such. There's even action figures and FUNKO pops with Ryder wearing their father's armor.
I have seen a theory that thinks the N7 you see in the bad-a$$ jacket is a rouge N7. Possibly the next antagonist. Liara getting that part of Shepard's helmet is Liara going to an alternate universe Alchera (Because the helmet in her universe was in Shepard's cabin) so she is retrieving a Shepard that was not recovered and bringing he/her back to out reality after the Reapers were defeated. cray-cray, right? But makes sense!
My thought is: Control, Synthesis, Non-perfect Destroy endings: AI Shepard that we've seen in the trailer. Perfect Destroy ending: "real" Shepard. I don't think that's necessarily incompatible with what you've said in this vid. I agree with you though, they are playing a bit of a dangerous game with the fanbase.
I do find it interesting that it's listed as Shepard's jacket. I saw all the lore as just Easter egg stuff like the Krogan in the winter palace or the ogre in the vault. The wording is there to show you it's an Easter egg. Of course it could mean something but more likely than not it's just lore like the blood dragon armor being the logo of Edmonton blood dragons urban combat team.
I didnt really have a ton of expectations for N7 day this year since i knew Veilguard was coming. Always appreciate them doing anything on that day though. The fact that its all hands on deck with Mass Effect now at Bioware has me so excited. Its finally full steam ahead. Next year will be the year we get something cool. It has to be. Andromeda failed due to EA for the most part imo. EA forced Bioware to use Frostbite which is a shooter engine. They cut funds thereby diminishing their potential for making a ton of new alien races. I am too big of a fan to not buy and play anything Mass Effect, but I certainly hope they make a much more amazing story with deep relationships and moments that hit you in the feels.
I wonder if ME5 will start us off playing as Ryder who travels back to the milky way (through some time warp or not) and meets Liara on their travels. Liara then tells her story and we switch to playing as her while she searches for remnants of Shepard. Maybe she believes that with new exceptional advancements in human tech, after the reaper war, its possible to bring Shep back. After finding some remnants of shep, Liara takes it to an organisation like Cerberus and they reconstruct Shepsrd from DNA that Liara has unearthed and we play as ryder while Shep is regenerating to a point where they still need life support but are awake and alive and so the N7 suit/jacket/armour is needed to allow Shep to do what is tasked of them but the AI used to regenerate Shep, malfunctions and makes Shep go bad guy on us and only Ryder and his/her SAM can help fix the sybchronisation between Shepards true nature and the functions of the more sentient SAM or AI attached to Sheps regeneration. After fixing Sheps SAM, we then switch to playing the last half of the game as fully regenerated Shepard to battle whatever new enemy is left in the game. This gives us back our Shepsrd without worrying about the time difference between milky way and andromeda while also allowing a coherent story. It sets up the bringing back of shepard in a more realistic way (as far as ME can go with realism haha) but it will mean playing as Ryder and/or Liara just for the initial set up in the beginning
your right He is and this will leave a Very bad taste in not only the fans of This franchise but the people like the devs as well not only that but any credibility He Had with His team and the gamers like you and me will be flushed down the toilet
I think the protag could be a Shepards Descendent, or they can pull an X-23 using Shepards dna to hopefully create a new Elite individual of the series, Just guessing because of Mass Effect 2
Shepard is a last name, I think this mystery N7 is either A. Secret love child from before the trilogy or B. a long lost sibling. I remember a leak from years ago that Shepard becomes the villain in a future game. Could be playing into that if leak was true.
I can see the game going in a direction where the galaxy has moved on and forgotten an N7 saved the galaxy that Shepard saved the galaxy. Monuments have just become history and no one understands the weight of the past. If it someone new maybe the galaxy is at a tipping point where the role of an N7 is needed to bring the galaxy back together to unite all and the new character needs to remind the galaxy that an N7 is needed now more than ever. That an N7 is someone that that is needed to show the galaxy what Shepard sacrificed.
There's a person in the Fade note! 7:50/51 look at the center of the note. Blow it up and look at the image. There's a figure that looks like a mirror image folded in half and opened that is either 1 or 2 people hidden in the black.
4:54 sorry I know I probably should’ve waited till the end of the video and if you basically say this whole thing in the rest of the video, I apologize, but I had an idea and I couldn’t stop myself, but I’m thinking that Leora is going to be wearing this jacket as an homage to Commander Shepherd who meant a great deal to her. I think they’re saying that Shepherd is not coming back, but Leora will be acting in remembrance of him and carrying on his in seven insignia or the symbols of it to show the world. This is how much he meant to her or she meant to her. I don’t know if Leora is going to be in the jacket in that thing or maybe she is and maybe because the helmet doesn’t fit her head. It’s because she’s walking inside of a computer and this is her avatar image in order to keep her concealed. But I think that the jacket is gonna belong to her because she is wearing it both as a style and a piece of armor as she goes throughout the galaxy doing things and this is an honor of her great friend and possible lover
Yeah, having N7 exploited in Andromeda and only to learn it was short lived was a cheap hook we would be playing as a mover and a shaker. N7 used here is a hint of Shepard's return. I agree they need to reveal to what extent Shepard is involved in the next game and soon. But they might not know. I've been following Mark Darrah's channel. A point he made that stuck with me is developers may be sick of working on the same thing is a reason why things stop or have to be different. He didn't mention that in his video about why we are not seeing DLC's like we used to. I commented games are taking longer to make than they used to and developers are surely sick of working on it is another reason as to why we are not seeing DLC's and he responded with there's something to that for sure. That could be why they have a new writer. i think Shepard should continue because there is a void in the superhero category.
I think the only reason they are using Shepard to try and market a "return to the roots." IE trying to convince that ME4/5 will be something akin to the Shepard Trilogy. They also likely don't have a concreate name for the protagonist (or even a concrete idea who the protagonsit, just a concept.) they figure at this stage stick with the notes that are of the Trilogy and shift to it's own identity once things are in pre-alpha (If I recall the game is in Pre-production.)
That being said I am certian that the N& is not Shepard related, or even a Human Alliance N7. Rather what I think is that an N7 operative is now the new Spectre and they make use of the iconography becuase Shepard's actions where so legendary the N7 operatives look to live up to their example
I'm starting to think that the N7/SPECTRE is Liara's and Shepards child. Asari only give birth to females and the N7 in the teaser has a very feminine figure in my opinion. Also in ME1 Liara more or less says that Asari don't really feel sadness for the loss of their bondmate. Instead they cherish the time they have/had with their partner. I agree that she looks very "reflective" as you say when she finds the N7 piece in the snow. I think their child is a good way to bring Shepard back, without bringing Shepard back.
I think shepard's identity itself is very player oriented and its very hard to reconcile the three endings in a way that actually suits every player. I think they're deliberately trying not to reveal shepard's fate because having that intrigue for shepard's fate is important for it to remain in every player's imagination and how they have played the trilogy. My guess is that shepard will be a non playable character and we would be playing as any alien race based on the fate we chose for the galaxy in me3.
I'm starting to wonder if Bio Ware devs really know by now who is our future protagonist. Maybe there are still opposing fractions weather to bring Shepard back, or not.
It's entirely possible they made the item descriptions without input from the MA team and it's also entirely possible they haven't ironed out the plot for MA5 to the point where they have locked in the protag (new character or shepherd). I feel like if you're looking for clues in the new item descriptions, they can go either way, which may be intentional.
Yeah Shepard definitely is the mystery n7 though they're ai/clone. We can feel nostalgic and connected but have the opportunity to forge a new story since it's Technically not the og.
The first ME5 teaser was at the game awards. This year is the tenth anniversary of the game awards. Quiet N7 day because of Veilguard, with bigger tease pushed to game awards?
I agree Kala, I think it will be a new protagonist. Shepard story was told and told well, I think we (Mass Effect) should move on, remembering his/hers memory.
I disagree really strongly about it being well told. I did not get any closure for my Shepard. If that was it, I would have liked some kind of epilogue. Maybe if you picked blue or green you're able to get that closure because you sacrificed yourself for the galaxy, but not for me and not for many many others. I know many will be automatically let down if the next game doesn't have Shepard. I just battle prefer games/books/series where the next part is a continuation of the previous story rather than a new story set in that same world. This is why everything else being equal Mass Effect>Dragon Age. At least for me.
I could see them pulling what Naughty Dog did with Joel in The Last Of Us 2, where you see them in the promos but they're dead in the game. Maybe Shepard is dead for ME5, but you see flashbacks of them throughout the game that take place after the perfect ending of ME3. Shepard wears the coat in the flashbacks, and that's why the coat is supposed to remind you of them like some of the notes in Veilguard hint. But eventually Shepard actually dies and the coat became standard issue for human spectres in rememberance of Shepard, which kinda ties in the loss and rememberance themes in the other Veilguard notes. Idk, just tossing together a theory 😂
Yo I'm sorry your correct and this year n7 was very quiet if we get a new protagonist some will be mad some not if commander shepherd comes some will be mad some not like u said a very dangerous game they are playing
Just smoked some weed and this came to my mind: In the black coat trailer, the coat is form fitting and is worn by a female because you clearly see a nice butt with a narrow waist. She walks like Liara. If you notice in the snow trailer you'll see the same curves on Liara along with the same stride and spatial awareness (the way she turns her head). She is wearing the black coat because she is now a Spectre and maybe she's working relentlessly to find him. Shepard is indeed alive, but he's waking up on some rock on a different planet and only the Alliance knows where. Thoughts?
In the citadel DLC shepard had a clone........maybe more than 1 clone was made, and it was Liara who found shepards remains and gave them to cerberus to carry out the Lazarus project. Liara, being the shadow broker, would hold many secrets......maybe an unused clone of shepard is another of her great secrets.......
@SeverusHunt but my femshep did a bonding thing with liara just before the final push on the earth mission, maybe liara took her memories too......I know I'm clutching at straws 😅
It was a disappointment. They should have put at least SOMETHING out, but didn't in favor of some Veilguard commerciial activity. As for the armor, how aboout not Shepard but a decsendant of Shepard, that kinda would fill the bill.
The on;y other N7 Liara knew that was game cannon, was Alec Ryder. He left the Milky Way for Andromeda with his fate unknown to her prior to the events of ME3 so.....
eh they just dropped a whole game and they gave us actual free in game items for the day. I hope they're all relaxing and enjoying some post release down time!
Maybe the real N7 was the Shepards we made along the way.
This is fantastic! 😂
Dude 😂😂
exactly 😂
Please explain, I don't get it.
Shepard is a cyborg now. All the damage from ME3 has made it so he needs a lot of parts to live. He’s Darth Vader now, needing machinery to live
In the destroy ending where he breathes at the end, he doesn't look that damaged.
I hope you're wrong if this means Shep will be the villain. If the commander is back he has to be our hero
That's literally what Shepard has been since the beginning of ME2 already
Shepard is a cyborg since ME2 tbh
Plot twist. We're getting omni swords in ME5! 😂
Omni movement sweats in me5
Shadow broker set complete with the shadow broker shield.
@@keith_5584Corporal is one rank above Private
@@keith_5584 We don't know how ranks necessarily work in the Alliance, but in real life, corporal is the lowest rank. In the beginning of ME 1, Shepard seemed to be a fairly high rank since he seemed to be above everyone on the Normandy except for Captain Anderson.
@ Any idea where in the chain of command, commander even is? (in real life) It looks like a non-sanctioned rank. I didnt check British/Scottish, Irish, and French navy’s, but it might not be an exclusive rank. The Scottish invented the Navy technically.
@@keith_5584The rank of commander is a commissioned officer rank in the United States military that is above lieutenant commander and below captain.
"Don't...don't give me hope" bro, this so thrilling, Shepard, da dog in allll of us...coming back?...i am praying and hoping this is true...🕊
I won’t lie, at this point I will be very surprised if Shepard isn’t the main character
Same! Next years should be a LOT bigger though.
@ I’m hoping we get a tease at the Game Awards next month. *Cross fingers*
BioWare Dev Intern: "LOL, can't believe that armor set made it past QA!"
As QA (not for Bioware) It's almost definitely not QA's problem LOL. At most QA goes "Oh, we're putting a reference in? NEAT." and then we make sure your arms don't clip through the sleeves.
As someone who worked in QA for a while, I can confidently say that this is not a QA problem.
I fully believe the tease means that Shepard is the new N7. As to the how and why...is anyone's guess.
But how, you made a video about how that thing wasn't even a human
@@stuart4341 that was just a theory, not an irrefutable fact
@@alguien6649I also don't think it's shepherd because the default shepherd is usually the male one
Is it just me or does the style of the jacket look quite similar to the style of Liara’s ME3 outfit?
Posting about DragonAge on that one day Mass Effect gets highlighted is a cheap thing to do
I have my own little theory that we will start off as this N7 agent in training.
Synthesis was pretty obvious though. But I don’t think using that could work in any of their games as the Milky Way’s life is altered completely.
@Draconiangem Synthesis juat felt completely wrong. Even more wrong than control. It's what Saren wanted, and failed to do.
Shoutout to Jay
Exactly. Makes you think what character of the ME universe is both male and female. Dun dun dun!
They never should have announced it so soon. It's been 4 years and all we've seen is a tiny teaser trailer and some art.
Yeah that did not work out for them recently so either way i think they went back to the drawling board with this game
ME 5 has been redone allready 3 times considerating bioware ! wait 8 y for more info !
Bioware has been very busy with their work on different games, but the recent news I heard is that they will be focusing on ME5 for the future. Bioware is a company that stretches itself too thin sometimes so it is to be expected.
@@UndeadCookieMonster Which is why you shouldn't announce a game you haven't even started working on.
It's really a dangerous game if they give us a new protagonist.
like really.
man, these crybaby haters nowadays ruling over… piss me off a lot
i really feel your pain... i wish that he/she coming back.. onestly, we need.
*"This N7 Day was a disappoint"*
_Not if you're a Legendary Edition modder, we got a lot of cool mods from the Mass Effect Modding youtube channel_
EDIT: But also, BioWare probably want Veilguard to actually sink in for the year until N7 Day 2025, at least that's what I'm assuming
That's exactly what they wanted. That's why they focused on Veilguard for this year's N7day plus No Man's Sky got the Normandy, which is pretty cool. I'd say it was a pretty decent N7day
We actually got content for other games instead of some nothing concept art that probably wouldn't even reflect the game in any way, lol
You can day that again. Having me2 abilities in me1 is like mods of the year. I have literally never been more excited to play me1 as it's female my least favorite mass effect to play. And I've single now had changed all that
Alas, I am a console player 😔
@kingcrowley2871 I wouldn't say so now for concept art of this game. With today's technology they should actually be able to create what they draw, unlike in past games.
Idc it’s Conrad Verner.
Conrad Verner in heels 🤣
I’ll put my flag in the sand and say it’s definitely the return of Shepherd.
I have an unhealthy obsession with Liara and Asaris for it not to be.
Maybe it's a clone of Sheppard
About Exodus I don't know why but I'm sure we will have gameplay and release date at The Game Awards.
He's dead Jim
Totally forgot about N7 day
At least the modding community were cooking for us this year from the lack of the official Mass Effect content.
Believe me, when they release a new trailer we will have confirmation if Shepard returns or not.
@morbintime9359 one can hope 😅
They need a homerun....why wouldn't the dangle Shepard in front of us...
@@jonaspetty8767 if Shep's in the game he has to be our hero
Liara won't be the protagonist for many reasons.
I am with Paragon7 on Sheppard coming back.... totally agree with you that they have to stop teasing them otherwise.
I really need to check out the Mass Effect games.
So. worth. It ❤
Do it they are incredible! I played the trilogy for the first time in 2020 and was hooked immediately.
Yep, you really do 🙂 But I'd recommend stop watching videos spoiling anything of the plot 😅 Though maybe you already know most of it since it's quite an old game at this point. Either way, I highly recommend getting the legendary edition and prepare to have your mind blown by this universe 👍
@ Thanks for the advice.
That N7 is a drell and not Shapard. I am sure. And if the devs of Veilguard are making it it will flop.
N7 is for humans. Why would this be a drell?
I'd keep my faith as it is talking about shepard coming back
I have seen a theory that thinks the N7 you see in the bad-a$$ jacket is a rouge N7.
Disapointing N7! A true let down from Bioware!
If BioWare keeps it up, ME5 might actually be awful. Praying I’m wrong
Way too much money for that coat. I doubt many would buy it.
Dang..."shite or get off the pot" (RUclips friendly version)
Love it.
BioWare was telling us Shep’s a ghost and gave us their jacket as a farewell
In my opinion, the protagonist of ME 5 should be the child of Shepard , or if not that, someone who looked up to them
I can see the game going in a direction where the galaxy has moved on and forgotten an N7 saved the galaxy that Shepard saved the galaxy.
Getting drell vibes off that coat. I'm hoping for a more drell centric story.
This will not happen. The developers have said many times that Mass Effect is the history of humanity
That's a real coat? I want that. But why $500?
No Sheppard = No playing it.
In ME2 Shep under Cerberus was also kind a Ghost 😱
And Liara was collecting the N7 helmet part on that planet Shepard was found in ME2?
Could be the fancy looking Geth... Another "Legion" Geth. Could be wearing it to infiltrate the N7 base. Then gets found out.
Clearly, this tease means our next protagonist will be Agent Harding :D
Yo I'm sorry your correct and this year n7 was very quiet if we get a new protagonist some will be mad some not if commander shepherd comes some will be mad some not like u said a very dangerous game they are playing
Just smoked some weed and this came to my mind:
In the black coat trailer, the coat is form fitting and is worn by a female because you clearly see a nice butt with a narrow waist.
Thoughts?
I thought it was just a goodie and a benign reference
They won’t have much Shep to use anywhere until all these VA strikes conclude.
Shepard AI maybe? Maybe it's gonna be into the Shepard-verse.
But the clones don't have the memories of the original. This is what the clone in the Citadel DLC says. That is, without memories, it's not Shepard.
@SeverusHunt that's true......
Not everyone can have a descendant of Shepard. For example, Miranda is infertile. Tali also cannot bear a child for Shepard.
The on;y other N7 Liara knew that was game cannon, was Alec Ryder. He left the Milky Way for Andromeda with his fate unknown to her prior to the events of ME3 so.....
So?.. O_o
I knew it, Shepard's back as an AI in a fake body.
The "ghost" description can mean that we shouldn't forget Shepard. Not forgetting Shep because he/she still there 😱
eh they just dropped a whole game and they gave us actual free in game items for the day. I hope they're all relaxing and enjoying some post release down time!
Kala you put it perfectly. Shit or get off the pot with Shepard.
BioWare must be delighted to get so much content of nothing - as Quantum Mechanics tells us there is a chance to create something out of nothing ;-)
"It's over Commander Shepard. Soon, I will become the Mass effect 5 of all time" Easily my favourite part of the game
