I love D.O.'s voice because he has the most beautiful timbre I have ever heard in k-pop. I love Baekhyun for his passion and huge talent. But I'm really impressed by Chen's vocals. He sounds like recorded, sometimes even better. Don't get me wrong, everyone are the best (sorry i can't say much about Luhan), but Chen is the most professional from all of them. I know there are many people who don't like his tone (too high), but be honest, He can sing like everyone, but not everyone can sing like him. And sometimes I feel a little angry because He is so underrated.
Agree that Chen is the most technical. His voice is too rich and smooth for my taste though. It's all about preference. I love D.O.'s voice best for its tone and texture. I'm a sucker for a bit of raspiness and grit here and there. But each one has something unique to love them all. Like Baekhyun's very masculine and Luhan's vibrato is beautiful. 😊

I agree. Chen is one in a million when it comes to natural talent. Personally I can’t choose between any of the boys’ voices (can’t even choose any bias at all) because they all have this special way of singing. When it comes down to it, their harmonisation will always be my favourite because they all are so different when singing but it just all blends so perfectly
@@carole.7142 Chen actually has raspiness in his voice too in some songs....if he wants too. He can sing anything and sound very different in each genre... especially in early songs you can hear his voice sounding completely different in soul rock r&b and ballads...shame he doesn't show it in EXO songs or even his solos ... only when he does cover songs 😑

I think he likes analyzing the music he's hearing. He seems like that kind of singer, especially with how focused he seems on accuracy when he is singing.
I tend to go trance-like when I'm listening to music. Ever since I studied Music Theory I can't just listen to music. I study it. XD
I think its him really feeling the music and it might make him a bit depressed because of past experiences. thats what I think atleast.

I don't know if it's a good or bad thing but Chen's voice always sounds recorded. I guess he must have a great voice then.
I think that's because he is a very skilful singer, and if you see closely, Chen holds the mic at a distance, whilst the others hold the mic very close to their mouth. Thus you can sometimes hear the puffing of air into the mic from the others, making the singing "more real", but Chen's part does not, hence sounds recorded.
not recorded. you could actually find chen's imperfectness during his singing but still his voice amazed us~

i know this comment is from 5 years ago lol but i just want to add that chen probably has more professional vocal training. he's been learning from his father at a young age and i think he also has a trainer that's why among all of them, he has the most stable voice even when they're just playing high notes/low notes, the members would say that his voice is always clean

지금 내 나이보다도 어린 엑소 모습 오랜만에 보니까 되게 묘하네 햇수로 치면 10년 전 영상인데 보컬도 정말 많이 성장한 것도 느껴지고 이 때는 엑소가 제일 노래 잘 부르는 줄 알았는데 더 성장할 줄이야 이 겨울앨범 나왔을 때 정말 좋아했었는데 진짜 다운로드 받아서 엄청 듣고 겨울마다 엑소 겨울앨범 기다리고.. 엑소의쇼타임 엄청 돌려보고...ㅎㅎ 내 학창시절 모든 순간을 돌아보면 모두 엑소 노래랑 함께였는데 오랜만에 노래 들으니까 그 순간들이 떠오르는게 참 좋다 지금은 그 때처럼 열정적으로 좋아하지는 않지만 여전히 응원해 한 때는 정말 원망스럽고 허무했던 때도 있었지만 지금은 그냥 모든 멤버들이 각자의 삶을 행복하게 살아갔으면 좋겠네 엑소 사랑하자

honestly i think there's nothing wrong much with luhan's voice. the reason why people think he sounds quite awkward is because his parts are (omg how to explain this) supposedly to be sung slowly and soothingly. it looks easy but it's not. and we are used to baekchensoo singing, so when luhan 'disturbs' the original one, the first-timers listening would find something awkward
and his voice is very soft unlike baekchensoo who got strong voice so when he took their parts, he sounds softer than we expected and yeah, sounds awkward. if you are used to this version than it's actually not bad. ive been following luhan's performance for this song and he improves very rapidly, he's working hard
so i hope instead of bashing him, i hope ppl can support him bcoz i think everyone knows he's an amazing singer; listen to the chinese vers and you will know what i mean

I wish there was a korean version of MID with LuHan's voice in it. and I also don't think there's nothing wrong with his voice. wasn't he a bit sick at this time? not that it's an excuse, but he has a good voice IMO, maybe not the best, but very decent and pleasant to the ears.

i dont think he sounds bad, but its not the "part" thing cause they interchange verses with both baek and kyungsoo in this song, as he's an extra for the korean version, the thing is, the parts they give him, tho not easy at all i agree, requiere a lot of vocal control, as yes they are so soft and almost whispered, that because luhan as the bad habit of overusing vibrato, it sounds broken, he cant sustain those piano verses "mellow soft".and of course he can not unfortunadely sing baek's of chen's high Fortissimo or forte parts (strong powerful verses) he goes sooo well with for example open arms, where he can vibrato and as he as somewhat of a "stronger" vocal color, can show it off more, here not so much. i personally think this is not the type of song for him, kyungsoo did sounded tired here.
and there is often awkwardness when you sing a song (thats not in your native language) live when you don't often sing it other than lipsyncing or for MVs. but they all seemed to be a little sick? idk, maybe that's just me. i like their voices and it was a good performance, but it seemed like they had a bit of a cold or sth.

Don't get me wrong, because they all have amazing voices, Luhan's voice is so soft and sweet, Kyungsoo's is low and comforting and I have no idea how Baekhyun is able to project so much adorable into his voice but when it comes to live performances Chen SLAYS! ....however...the best part is definitely when they all sing together...that's when I get goosebumps and that's when my heart just sort of shatters...with...love? Wonderful, honestly. I hope one day they can perform it all together again :)
