I have learned to appreciate Light’s play style and ability with Fox so much more as Ultimate has gone on…his movement and reactions have always been easy to recognize, but his spacing, timing, baits/punishes, and just overall skill piloting this character is seriously something to behold lol…and idk why, but I think punishing a whiffed grab with landing up air like he did to Sonix is one of the coolest looking sequences 😂
I don’t think he proved fox is the best spacie I just think he proved he’s one of the best players in the world and prolly the best pilot of a spacie. He’s just cracked out man.
Light is one of those players that makes his character look so fuckin hype and amazing to play as, then you actually pick Fox up in matches and get edgeguarded and miss all the combos and tech chases and act like it's Fox's fault and not yours. Seriously though, Light just optimizes and plays Fox on a level I (as a novice-intermediate player) can't comprehend sometimes. Amazing to watch.
Fox is one of those characters that I would love to be good at. Along with joker, greninja, and a few others. However, my brain is too simple so I must play simple, such as byleth
@@zacharyalford8185 Yeah for me personally I just end up always loving playing Falcon more than any other character. I think if I had the time I would grind out learning Fox more in-depth and get him to my Falcon's level.
It's tough in the beginning. And you might lose a stock at 40%. But when you're on a roll and start steam rolling an entire stock and your opponent can't keep up with what you're doing you feel absolutely unstoppable. When you figure out when to not over extend(which is insanely easy to do with fox) and work on your approach and spacing he feels busted. Like if you get a read in the middle of it you can get a 0-90% and then it's just laser chip damage to Nair up-smash.
It's really hard to decide who the best spacie is, but Fox is definitely the most precise. Precise characters typically don't do as well online, so Fox's meta is developing post covid.
I am a smash dunce for sure. But it has always seemed to me like a reliable off the top kill option is the next best thing to a spike kill confirm. And Fox has two off the top options.
Part of me still thinks Wolf > Fox > Falco, because Wolf is the most well rounded of the three and has less exploitable weaknesses compared to the other two. But another part of me makes me wonder if Fox really is the best spacies. Light makes him look way too good, like almost, if not better than the Aegis (Fox > solo Mythra at the very least imo), and that's coming from someone who co-mains them. He made me want to replay the character again (Fox was my main in Brawl and one of my secondaries in 4), which I did these last few days. Last time I played, I pulled a sour spot nair => sour spot dash attack => up Smash to end a match, I couldn't believe it 😄. Character is mad fun 😁
I feel like wolf and fox have the same level of exploitable weaknesses. The difference is consistent damage and low execution vs greater damage and neutral and high execution. Fox has always had more potential than wolf (especially after buffs). He's just difficult to be consistent with at the moment. Sheik and Fox have similar story arcs. But I feel like this is only the beginning. Fox can punish you just as hard as wolf can, but you have to be better in order to do it. So, the fact that Light is the best pilot of a spacey and is using the best spacey for high execution high reward is a testament to Fox > Wolf. On the other end of the spectrum, Falco is low execution and High Reward, but has the worst neutral of the 3. Hmm, maybe his neutral isn't that bad, but it's interesting to compare them. I'd say it goes something like this. Advantage State: 1. Fox 2. Wolf & Falco Neutral: 1. Fox 2. Wolf 3. Falco Disadvantage: 1. Falco 2. Wolf 3. Fox Recovery: 1. Fox 2. Falco 3. Wolf Tech Chase: 1. Fox 2. Falco 3. Wolf Punish Game: 1. Fox 2. Wolf 3. Falco I'd love to hear thoughts on these aspects of the gameplay. I just think fox has such a good neutral that he wins a lot of interactions that let him recycle his ridiculous advantage states. Wolf maybe has a better overall punish game, but because fox is faster and can capitalize on Whiffs better in general, I think his punish game ends up being the best overall because he can push his advantage state without having to reset neutral like wolf does.
@@sikeyno.8797 He also said that fox was the worst spacey. I think there's some context that needs to be added. Falco has the most consistent and damaging combos by a pretty wide margin. That makes his advantage state crazy, and it's arguably the worst thing about fighting him. However, it is much easier to reset neutral against Falco because of his slow run speed. He can't tech chase nearly as good as fox can. I think falco has the best offstage game and best combos. But Fox can put you in the blender and run you down for an entire stock. His offstage is respectable. His combos aren't as consistent or good as Falco's but he can press advantage state for longer. And again, with his better neutral, he's getting more advantage states over the same amount of interactions. I definitely think Falco's advantage is better than Wolf's, but I also think Wolf gets bigger punishes overall. Like losing neutral against wolf 3-4 times is a stock. He kills pretty easily so I find it hard to say that he's that much worse than falco because he doesn't need as much advantage state as falco does to get the job done. I wouldn't argue with Larry, but I definitely think Larry has a history of underestimating fox because of how different he is from previous iterations of the character. Larry would be playing Fox a certain way that might not highlight his strengths as well. But yes, I am aware that Falco advantage state is the most frustrating since it feels like a cutscene XD! It's just that fox can do that same thing if played optimally.
@@romeospells2487 imma keep it a buck I’m not finna read all that I was jus correcting you falco has the best recovery out of all the spacies whilst fox has the worst out of the spacies i do agree thar fox is best spacie tho

I know the smash community is a mine field when discussing "good", "broken" or "unplayable" characters and I am merely a casual player, but there's no way for me to admit fox is better than falco and wolf. Online falco is just a living hell to play against, uptilt confirms into everything at any % and becasue of his incredible double jump height it is almost impossible to catch falco in the air. Wolf on the other hand is more predictable imo, but his moves are all so hard-hitting and seem to overpower anything you throw out. Light makes fox look incredible and almost broken. But before jumping to any conclusions, try to play fox once for yourself. He is incredibly combo heavy but takes a lot of precision to master, especially due to his fast falling speed and incredible disadvantage off stage. You can die incredibly early when falling in a random smash attack or losing your jump off stage and killing with him can be a problem if you can't nair>upsmash anymore due to higher %. Not saying Larry is wrong or something like that, but I don't think fox is the "best" spacy just because Light has the ability to explode with him. Since release, wolf has dominated online and offline smash and still kinda is. The only thing that has changed is that people learned how to play against him.
Wolf and fox are extremely close, but at top level, Falco can struggle to kill if he doesnt get that confirm, can get edgeguarded, and there's just a bunch of characters better than him. Tilde has been pushing Falco tho, and things are always subject to change

Time stamp?
It's crazy how Light reacts "too fast" in situations some people can't even react to in general
This happens often if you have a read in your head but you execute it to fast
Sonic’s get up animation made it so Fox’s foot went right between Sonic’s legs when he got up. Light timed it properly.
Maybe he isn't reacting and it's called a tech chase. Sonixs didn't tech so light was waiting for his get up option. Pretty basic smash
@@benschmidt5480you realize that’s reacting right?
