The entire thing with Thor is that in mythology he needs the gauntlets and belt to be able to lift Mjolnir, so I think despite Marvel deviating from Norse mythology quite a bit, that him having armour makes sense.
I also fuck with the heavier build I know it's not 100% confirmed what norse myth thor's body type was, I do think a heavier build suits him given his near gluttonous personality
not only that, but thats the normal design for canon Thor's future in Marvel, the reason why his arm is so big is because its a prosthetic and all that, I just miss the eyepatch

He's just a version of the diety inspired by Norse mythology. My friend was praising the game for not making Thor slim...but Thor was always a pretty slim guy in the comics..so to say hes an accurate representation of marvel comics isn't true..if anything they just pulled even more from norse mythos.

The Marvel Rivals version of Psylocke is from the Demon Days comic, by Peach Momoko, where she's pretty much from Feudal Japan if I remember correctly, so that's why ishe looks so much like a ninja.
tbh with Rocket i think this might be one of my most favorite designs because its respecting his original blue and red costume but making it modern and more rough around the edges. Hes not a soldier he's just a guy whos going to pickpocket you and than sell your id in alien underground market to get a new weapon. Same goes for the punk-ish aesthetic combined with huge fluffy tail, he's aggressive yet loveable and has a soft spot for very few individuals which really well represents it. This is something that really expends his character and i think that's a really nice and satisfying adjustment
The only designs I have major problems with are Magneto, Moon Knight, Psylocke, and of course Wolverine. Even with those 4 though, I actually still like all of their designs minus Wolverine 33 character designs and only one of them (at least imo) being a miss is pretty great, especially since wolverines alt costume is perfect and makes him look infinitely better

Thats captain america 2099 that's why, actually Marvel Rivals is taking most of its characters from 2099/future universe. Also hulk has 3 forms, the main form is the biggest one.
I know you're getting heat for not liking some looks but I agree that a lot of these are bulky and overdesigned. Some of them are downright silly, like Wolverine has the metal pieces on his hands when those are usually just on his gloves so that his claws don't tear the gloves I think? When his gloves are off, he has no visible indicator for where the claws come out.
Most of the character designs in this game are genuinely fantastic and the level of artistic style and detail is truly amazing to look at. Some of my favourite designs have to be Hawkeye, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Doctor Doom, Moon Knight, Squirrel Girl, Black Panther, Namor, Iron Fist, Groot, Venom, and Jeff (of course 😊🦈)

This game has the kind off overdesing that I like because even with the many elements the characters have, they mostly are details that tell you about their lore, and the more cartoony yet stylized artstyle just makes it easier to digest. It's not just random lines for the sake of "realism" like the MCU tends to do
I love Moon Knight's hood is not only shaped like a crescent moon, but it has this little holes at the top that make it look like the god Khonshu's bird skull head. Like he literally has Khonshu in his head
Nice video and very entertaining as always! If it was up to me, I’d put “how different is it from the original look” as a weaker metric. I think originality SHOULD be a factor, but it should amount to bonus point and not to a core metric. Ultimately, “does it look cool” is the question we need to answer when making an aesthetic cheatsheet. If the original look works and is iconic, we don’t need to change it just to change it. You even said so yourself in Captain America’s design. But as with any tier list, it is highly subjective so I respect your opinion.
I hope you might read my comment but that is rare in youtube...Wolverines metal slider actually does make sense,you just need to remember his hands does hurt everytime he pops his claw ripping his skins,so the metal slider keeps that part if his body from closing and making clear way bring out his claws,at first it used tobe in his gloves but I like how it was integrated into his arm...and if you look closely,you will realise the jacket that he is wearing is actually upper part of X-men uniform,he's just wearing it in casual dressup and without any other part of that uniform,much like a blue coller worker aesthetic and pub aesthetic(since he mostly is regular pub type guy)

The Thor love and thunder skin adds a cape and it 100% improves the feel. Hopefully the rivals design gets a cape on a future skin

I don’t even like squirrel girl, but her design is S tier. In comics she always looks super weird with like a leotard and weird stripes on her eyes, but this design gives her a new body shape and completely new clothes.

The Marvel Rivals version of Psylocke is from the Demon Days comic, by Peach Momoko, where she's pretty much from Feudal Japan if I remember correctly, so that's why ishe looks so much like a ninja.

tbh with Rocket i think this might be one of my most favorite designs because its respecting his original blue and red costume but making it modern and more rough around the edges. Hes not a soldier he's just a guy whos going to pickpocket you and than sell your id in alien underground market to get a new weapon. Same goes for the punk-ish aesthetic combined with huge fluffy tail, he's aggressive yet loveable and has a soft spot for very few individuals which really well represents it. This is something that really expends his character and i think that's a really nice and satisfying adjustment
The only designs I have major problems with are Magneto, Moon Knight, Psylocke, and of course Wolverine. Even with those 4 though, I actually still like all of their designs minus Wolverine
33 character designs and only one of them (at least imo) being a miss is pretty great, especially since wolverines alt costume is perfect and makes him look infinitely better

I know you're getting heat for not liking some looks but I agree that a lot of these are bulky and overdesigned. Some of them are downright silly, like Wolverine has the metal pieces on his hands when those are usually just on his gloves so that his claws don't tear the gloves I think? When his gloves are off, he has no visible indicator for where the claws come out.

Most of the character designs in this game are genuinely fantastic and the level of artistic style and detail is truly amazing to look at.
Some of my favourite designs have to be Hawkeye, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Doctor Doom, Moon Knight, Squirrel Girl, Black Panther, Namor, Iron Fist, Groot, Venom, and Jeff (of course 😊🦈)

This game has the kind off overdesing that I like because even with the many elements the characters have, they mostly are details that tell you about their lore, and the more cartoony yet stylized artstyle just makes it easier to digest. It's not just random lines for the sake of "realism" like the MCU tends to do

Nice video and very entertaining as always! If it was up to me, I’d put “how different is it from the original look” as a weaker metric. I think originality SHOULD be a factor, but it should amount to bonus point and not to a core metric. Ultimately, “does it look cool” is the question we need to answer when making an aesthetic cheatsheet.
If the original look works and is iconic, we don’t need to change it just to change it. You even said so yourself in Captain America’s design.
But as with any tier list, it is highly subjective so I respect your opinion.
I hope you might read my comment but that is rare in youtube...Wolverines metal slider actually does make sense,you just need to remember his hands does hurt everytime he pops his claw ripping his skins,so the metal slider keeps that part if his body from closing and making clear way bring out his claws,at first it used tobe in his gloves but I like how it was integrated into his arm...and if you look closely,you will realise the jacket that he is wearing is actually upper part of X-men uniform,he's just wearing it in casual dressup and without any other part of that uniform,much like a blue coller worker aesthetic and pub aesthetic(since he mostly is regular pub type guy)
