Makes no sense to have nurses wear N95 masks in dialysis center. Does nothing to protect vulnerable dialysis patients. Protects nurses instead. It's overkill. Nurses don't need that level of protection. Like having an AK47 for home protection. If you lived in middle of violent part of the world with high risk of being shot, AK47 might be needed. But if you live in peaceful suburb where violence is rare, you don't need AK47. Same with N95. Those working directly with Covid patients are at high risk of getting infected by Covid so need N95. Those caring for noninfectious diseases don't need N95. Lastly, for N95 to properly protect the wearer, the fit of the mask must be perfect (no leaking space). N95 wearers must have the fit tested regularly. They put you under a plastic hood with N95 on and spray noxious substances. If you cannot taste or smell it, the mask fits. If you can, adjustments are needed. So unless facility has ability to test the mask fit, N95 won't be helpful.

The “healthcare system” I work for doesn’t have the right masks for us but keeps sending daily emails about how proud they are of us. If you’re that proud, come walk through the hospital units. Not just the ICU and ER but the psych units where my coworker got spit in the face by a psychotic patient, or the med surg units where they’re picking up the slack. I don’t want a thank you or pat on the back, I just want the proper tools to do my job.

The people who voted for Trump voted for multiple reasons and biggest one was because they were impressed how successful he became during the decades. Political experience doesn’t matter because the government was not supposed to be made up of career politicians, HOWEVER, it’s completely ridiculous to want someone to be given levels of power because they say something you agree with.

The “healthcare system” I work for doesn’t have the right masks for us but keeps sending daily emails about how proud they are of us. If you’re that proud, come walk through the hospital units. Not just the ICU and ER but the psych units where my coworker got spit in the face by a psychotic patient, or the med surg units where they’re picking up the slack. I don’t want a thank you or pat on the back, I just want the proper tools to do my job.
