Hartzog's face mask penalty was, possibly, the most bone- headed, undisciplined play I've ever seen out of a Nebraska player.

Bielema or his coordinators did a better job with schemes and play calling than NU's staff. When Raiola missed that TD pass his demeanor showed that that was the one chance for the W. Telecast showed some graphic about one score games in the past couple of years...of course IU was something like 6-1 and NU 2-7.

Illinois won't be that great, Nebraska always makes teams look like top 10 material. Getting outcoached is not a good look. Either play Mazzuca or cut him, enough of this bs. Rhule hasn't shown he can make the right decisions under pressure, I don't see that ever changing unfortunately. Nebraska will only win big, they just aren't going to win close games and every opponent knows this.

Do you think we have over emphasized getting to the QB with less and taking the ball away? I feel like we got away from what made the defense good last year… blitz from everywhere and being sound in tackling. Our YAC have gone up because we’re always ripping at the ball.

Even though Nebraska hasn't had a winning season for almost 10 years, I'd still be disappointed with 3-1 record. I would even be upset at 7-1 after the Ohio State game, but I get the point that your making expectations was a bowl game minimum after watching Dylan and the defense first few games peoples expectations were to be one of the twelve in the playoffs. Even Jim Mora thought Nebraska was making the playoffs.

Tony White certainly did a good job with the defense last year. However, most people have lost sight of the fact that outside of 2, maybe 3, teams with an offensive pulse, Nebraska faced quite possibly the worst collection of offenses ever assembled on a college football schedule. Iowa, Minnesota, Purdue, Michigan St., Northwestern, Wisconsin & Illinois were absolutely anemic on offense last year. Made an improved Nebraska defense, while decent, appear much better than they were. Now with a year of film and what looks like generally improved offenses on the schedule, the defense is regressing to what they probably really are. Also, NIU kind of pushing the defense around for the entire game was an bad omen for Illinois, a very physical team.

I’m a little confused with Doc’s analysis post-game. On last weeks pod he seemed to think this game was going to be a break away game for the Huskers now you’re giving kudos to Bert and Illini 😂 I love the pod but gotta call a little BS on Doc talking out of both sides of his mouth on this game!

That loss felt like the classic embarrassing loss where we are complaining about the refs cause we have no answers for regressing so hard. Felt early on the first quarter it was a hope we can somehow squeak by because we are the worse team by a lot. Receivers wide open seems to be a common issue now for the defense two years in unless we get pressure on the QB. Offense continues to disappear in the second half.

I'm guessing next years losing season will be "Chasing 7?" 😂
You are a really bad staff when Brett Blimpia rolls into your place, again, and beats you on a historic night.
Stop with the penalty excuses, Illinois outplayed and out hustled a completely unprepared, and poorly coached Nebraska football team! Both Coordinators for NU got schooled! Try stopping a late fourth Qtr scoring drive White...
....and good luck with that HC gig😂
Whatever you do Rhule, make sure you put all the weight of the teams success on your Freshman QB's arm.
Do not, and I repeat, do not actually try and establish a running game.
Make sure you score in 3-4 plays and rush that Defense back out there for 8-10 minutes...
...brilliant game plan in the BIG!!!
Michigan averaged 33? points a game last year, won a Natty....🤔
I think Bill Busch lives like 4 miles from you Rhule, he is an actual "Special Teams" coach....
    ....Foley is not!
This team will be LUCKY to win 6 games this season....
    Maybe Purdue, Rutgers, Wisconsin 🤞🏼
When your on your used car salesman soap box Mr. Rhule, remember....
.....people who don't get it, don't know that they don't get it.
    GBR🎈

Love the broadcast few thoughts I would love your comments. First while the time of possession was roughly equal it was not equal by half as Illinois had 7 more minutes in the second half.
My biggest concern for Nebraska going forward is they are not adjusting to how a game is being called. For example in the first 3 games holding was getting called, but against Illinois it was not. My concern is the defense did not adjust this ultimately resulted in a hands to face calls. From a defense side you need to run more stunts to get your blockers clear. Also on offense we should have started getting much more liberal in our blocking and hold to some degree when it became clear they were not calling it.

Well as to the ref's there was pass interference in the enzone which would haven given Neb 1st down on 3 which caused Neb to settle for 3 rather than 7 in the 1st qtr.

Early season rankings mean absolutely nothing. I love it when you say Colorado is no good but you take great credit for beating them. Then the national sports people say Colorado is no good as they have not played anybody yet. You are all full of sheet.

what happened was very simple....we are an overrated avg. team at best with a bad coach.....now of course 90% of my fellow huskers fans get triggered reading this as i get all kinds of backlash in comments from them....oh well truth hurts....i said the same thing after frost's first year here....he was a bad coach in lincioln and needed to go....i took heat for that as well and i was right cause that didnt age well for ya did it,lol.....unfortunately it took 4 years for lincoln to toss him....i pray to god it dont take 4 years to toss out rhule....he needs to go after this season bowl game or not!!....cause if you being honest husker fans since when was a toilet bowl the goal and success in lincoln?....cause if thats your standard, and thats the actual standard in lincoln now than baby jesus how far we really have fallen 🤦‍♂.....truth is he needs to go!!....cold hard truth

Thought you might like another perspective on Hohl's missed field goal, the designated turning point in the game (Huskers vs Iliini), from the view point of physics!
Sort of an unusual way to look at this, but maybe worth the thought. I watched this attempt in slow motion several times and noticed several things. The snap was a little off, and the ball placement became suspect as a result. We must look at Einstein's general theory here. When an object is moving, spinning in this case, angular momentum comes into play. Angular momentum is 'acceleration' which is gravity. Just like the earth orbits out star, and is spinning and falling toward the sun simultaneously, it stays in a designated orbit. This is good for planets ( so we don't fly off into space), but NOT for footballs. Kicking a field goal requires that the ball be 'motionless', (laces out) so the contact with the foot of the kicker can apply momentum on the tangent directly outward. The opposite of spinning planets.
In this case, the holder (Bushini?) was still turning the ball to laces out when John Hohl's foot made contact. Result...angular acceleration (gravity) was applied, even a small amount, and created enough momentum from the kick to take a curved path over the distance squared...about 39 yards. Just enough gravity to pull the ball left and miss the direct tangent target straight line. In other words, bad for footballs, but OK for planets in an orbit.
So the fault here was timing as the football was still turning. That goes to the long snapper and place holder here, not Hohl.
This is something that can be corrected by practice and study of physics.
    What do you think?

    • @danrose3233
      @danrose3233 8 дней назад +1

Lay off the drugs. Kickers often contact the ball while the holder has the ball in motion with no ill effect. He shanked it...simple. It is obvious by the way the ball was rotating. The ball was struck too far up on the foot.

Rhule flat out admitted he's not as much an x's and o's guy as most coaches. To me the head coach needs to be someone that can tell his coordinators what they need to fix based upon what he is seeing during practices. He also said he's more of a defensive mind which is why this one really shocked me. I think they game planned on the front 3 being able to do what they had in the first 3 games. Instead they all got double teamed and worn out. TW should have dialed up some more pressure very early on.
