Man, thank God we have HD cameras nowadays, and thank you for showing us these tricks, because, for me, who understands nothing about skateboarding, It was impossible to understand the tricks from the PS1 animations. The game was great, and still is, but the PS1 didn't have enough horsepower. Your work is great. Thank you so much.
Christ air wasn't "special" to my knowledge, but then again neither were triple kickflip or darkslide in most games, so maybe Christ air was special in the earlier games too.
considering you said like Christ air. did you mean super dude where it's two hands above the hands. because I'd assume you dont mean "Dog piss" or benihana.
@minuetee there is a video on YT from like 10 years ago where someone does Kickflip backside one foot Smith. You run RL in the same problem, nose is above the rail, ledge, but you can't really point it down, cuz one foot. Thats why Johnny did it nollie, cuz this way the nose stays down from beginning. But for suski or salad the nose is way to low, imo
Well, no, because if you impossible out of a dark slide you would land with your board upside down 😂. The only thing that might work in reality is a Dark Slide/impossible/Dark slide - kind of like Matt Tomasello’s Dark slide/Kick Flip/Dark slide. The only other way is to add some sort of flip into it, but then it’s not really an impossible anymore, more of an under flip or something.
I cant skate as much as id like to anymore due to illness, but man, watching you skate gets me so hyped to go out and try to learn ridiculous tricks lol Thanks for doing what you do, You're a great influence in skateboarding and incredibly talented.
This really makes you appreciate the flip tricks more. As a kid catching air and doing sick grabs looked way cooler so that's how I optimized my characters, but stuff like the semi flip is way more technical than say, an airwalk.
Jonny you have to accept Spencer Bartons Excalibur Flip challenge!! And it would be a NBD as you wanted 😬 I don't even know if its possible but it sounds crazy 😁
I watched that. i would have thought he would exaggerate a hospital flip with a late flip but the late body rotation underflip is amazing. such a cool NBD trick. we have to get Johnny onto this challange!
@@ezufranzgrote5128 it fits the channel perfectly! plus. he is always trying to learn new stuff and eventually will have a tutorial on the excalibur flip soon enough. XD I'll post a challange in every one if his videos till him and Spencer colab or get this trick in the official trick book

Damn dude your stuff is so clean! I used to skate like crazy in my teens. In my early 30's now and I just ordered one of the same Zero boards I used to own way back when. Getting me excited to try my hand at my old hobby one more time!
New to your channel just came across this video and I'm already a fan! I think its really cool to see these tricks from the game being performed in real life much love to you and your very talented gift as a skater
I want to see you do "The Big Hitter" It's either a back-foot noseslide or a front-foot tailslide, with the board sticking out one side and your opposite foot sticking out the other. It was my favorite special trick from THPS2 and probably all the others too.
Damn dude, you're dope. I'm a sucker for primo ANYTHING. Elissa Steamer was my main char in THPS, because of the primo grind (her special). Seriously though man, you're sick, and seem like just a genuinely chill, good person. Thanks for the vid, keep up the good work dude.
I used to be obsessed with skateboarding while younger and never knew how to learn, if I had Google and RUclips then I would've skated everyday trying to learn, but love the vids man I could watch ya skate for hours easily
They just have off center cores so the bearings are farther inward. Just makes it so the nuts/axels don't poke out. Def get them if you're curious. Super fun wheels
i remember back in the day i accidentally hit a double heelflip while trying to learn a regular heelflip (and i wasnt even that great or anything) but when you kick and get it spinning it can go pretty fast. i imagine good skaters do triples or even more with ease
You should seriously do a flat ground comp against rodney for sure. Growing up he was an absolute blast to watch and just seeing the things he does on a board is ridiculous. I think it would be a good tie breaker to actually see who the best flat grounder is
My special trick back in the day when I used to skate was the 'boneless underflip'. I'd do a boneless and then when bringing the foot back from underneath I'd kick the board from underneath so it did a flip. It was pretty sketchy but I didn't see anyone else doing it at the time so I felt pretty special doing it :D
I am again and again stoked about the fast evolution of Skateboarding 🛹 since the 80's over millennium until today! Hey Jonny, I was just thinking about it, and I think it'd be dope to see someone land a sweet spine transition trick I was thinking about. Basically you ride up to blunt stall, then hook the board to impossible and transition to the other side at the same time. It seems possible, albeit very difficult.
Hey Jonny loved the video along with all the others, thought I heard you mention trick suggestions and I wondered if you would try the darkslide as a lip slide?
