Dan was a key piece of my life journey. I made me reflect and see things from a poet's eye and feel things from a deeper place than I likely would have. Thank you Dan. Thank you to the Poets, the Artists, those that summon the better angels of our nature.
Dan was a driving force, a quiet voice at times, an impactful artist who often dove deep into human emotions and life’s experiences. I was fortunate to see him in concert and to say I had a man crush on him is not something that embarrasses me. He inspired me, made me love greater/deeper, and gave me the hope to move on from youthful heartbreaks. Yes, I miss him but to honor him, I’ll play his music and go where he wants me to in the journey of his songs.
THANK YOU GOD FOR DAN FOGELBERG. THE BEST SINGER SONGWRITER AND SOUL THERE EVER WAS. Thanks for posting this. I DIDN'T MISS MUCH. JUST DAN! MISS HIM LIKE NO OTHER! Cheers💕
Yes, he was a musical genius. I miss him...thank God we have his great music on records and RUclips. I grew up with his beautiful music and like me, he's from Illinois!
I was fortunate to be one of the singers on this video, I am on the far left next to Amy Grant. At 4:32 there's a nice shot of me, Amy, Hazel Miller, John Oates, Jeff Hannah, Bob Carpenter, Richie Furray and Michael Martin Murphy. That was a blast for me, to stand next to Amy Grant and harmonize! Earlier in this program I played bass for Garth Brooks, Vince & Amy, Richie Furray and NGDB. What a great evening!
What a great Tribute evening that must have been. So glad this is preserved on You Tube. Sure wish the audio range could have included louder. Seems it would have been--more realistic for the night and huge crowd in 2017, when he was inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Also wish the narrative about him from the ceremony was available, or maybe still could be. Seems it was right about a decade after his death...?
@@patricks3816 Correct, I accidentally wrote John Montgomery lol. Did him and Garth have some type of falling out in the past? When him and garth shook hands and embraced the crowd made a big deal about it. I Know JMM has been a passionate advocate for the cowboy lifestyle and landowner rights and such, so I didn't know
My cousin, Denny Henson, one of his fellow Fool's Gold members, was one of many on the stage singing harmonies. I cannot even begin to imagine the emotion on the stage with all of those whose lives Dan touched. Thanks for sharing
I miss Dan so much. What a great talent gone too soon. He was a genius at everything he did. ❤

Happy to see Dan is getting the credit he deserves!
Remember Dan’s closing out his concert at campus of LSU in early 80’s with this song - long before cell phones, crowd flicked their BICs.
Excellently done, classy and well deserved! Dan was a great artist!
Garth Brooks and All beautiful tribute. Thank you all.
Love and miss you Dan... always will

Great version of this - Garth even sounds quite a bit like Dan. Great choice for this song.
Love you Dan and miss you.
Wow. Dan was a true musical genius.

Miss you Dan.
I have always wanted to hear Garth sing “the leader of the band”
Wow

Love Garth, but his vocal just doesn't work for this song.
Sure not as good as dan fogelberg
Were you expecting anyone to be able to match Dan?
@@ATalkingBadger no not really !! Thanks
Brooks is a sellout. He single-handedly ruined country music and now ruins the great Dan Fogelburgh.
OMG NO
