Red Hot Chilli Peppers with a Capo - cheating or working the system?

The question is related to the fact that many people disparage the use of capo for chord simplification and progressions, as a kind of attack on technique. Personally, I think it is a tool like any other and the important thing is the result we achieve through it and not its use itself.
