If you sat through the installation with this song, you know you loved this game. The boss fights was just so epic with this song playing in the back! This is the song that brought me into the work of Yakuza!
I kinda wish I could join in with all the "Best installation ever", but I played the Remastered version, so I never had to do that. As far as I can tell there is literally no place in the game where the vocal version actually plays, because they used the instrumental for the intro movie. If I hadnt been looking for this myself I may have missed the masterpiece. That thought makes me feel somber.
I never understood why they shose to use an instrumental version of for faith, instead of making one for butterfly city(the actual song that plays in the intro JP-only tho) and using that instead

This game is great, but instead of enemies blocking a lot like yakuza 3, they quickstep which (in my opinion) is more annoying, tanimura and akiyama can deal with it and saejima too but damn, even though kiryu is so stacked in this game and does tons of damage he can't really do much to certain enemies, I mean just try and do ultimate match 4, that shit gives me nightmares. That's why I think 3 and 4 were the most influential in the series becuase they were the building blocks to yakuza 5 and 0 which I personally think are the pinnacle of yakuza combat. I haven't played judgement, or lost judgement or the samurai spin offs so I don't know what they're like

Just remember this - Ryuu ga Gotoku 2 came out in Japan in Dec. 2006 for PS2. The PS3 was already out. Sept. 2008, Yakuza 2 hit North American shores for PS2. Anything's possible.

This was the main theme for Yakuza 4 but in the end this is basically the Yakuza/Like A Dragon franchise's main theme in general. It actually works for literally every game. Hidenori Shoji is a genius.
Y4 have some of the stupidest plot twist in the entire series but it also have some of the most badass moment in the entire series with the 4 main characters wearing black suit and standing in front of the Millenium tower
I was in the same boat. I took Japanese for 2 years in college, but it takes a lot more than that to play and understand a video game completely. I muddled through it, though, so I'm sure you will, too.
This is my first LAD/Yakuza game after a random buy of a used game at Gamestop, especially after the guy said this game is "terrible." For example in this case the whole plot of the game may have been very dumb and didn't made a lot of sense, but, at least for me, when I was playing the game and I was seeing the story for the first time I wasn't really paying attention on how it didn't made a lot of sense and only realizing it later when I finished the game, and that's because I was having a blast and I was very engaged in the story and I think it was all because of the work, effort and quality they put in to tell the story of the game to the player.
