Couple Begins to Transform Neglected Property Into Homestead // 3 Month Timelapse

- In June of 2023 we sold our house and moved from California to East Tennessee to begin the process of building a homestead and a home from the ground up. We arrived at our property to five foot tall weeds and grasses and a faint outline of what was a small driveway. We began the process of clearing land, getting our RV, unloading our personal belongings and building our homestead and home. Here is the first 3 months progress of the adventure.

Thank you for all the comments regarding the sound. I didn’t notice the sound issues while editing in Premiere Pro but unfortunately at this point I cannot change it. Sorry for the audio issues on this video.
I enjoyed the video and The audio was fine to me.
Hiya, I have never owned property before am curious after watch. How do you know where your property starts and end? There were no fence or markers in the vid to show where your property is. Thanks
The audio was fine
@@wumao6797 Our property is fully fenced around the perimeter so that is one way to know and there is also a tree line around the perimeter that kind of boxes it all in.
@@TriStarHomestead Ah I see thanks for the description.
That zero turn earned its keep 10 fold
wow i was shocked, a zero turn lol.... nice
I'm glad the USA is promoting agriculture and permaculture. This is a great influence to be followed by everyone around the world. Watching from the Philippines!
Thank you for the kind words and glad you are enjoying.
interesting channel, but the music setup is too loud over anything else going on...I am sure it is something that will balance out as you practice editing....editing is the only reason I didn't start my own channel
So impressed by all you guys have accomplished in such a short time. Thanks for sharing your journey with us!
❤❤❤❤❤
Maybe wear a speaker so we can hear when you talk especially when the music plays. Its hard to hear you. Also as you are new starters less music and more hearing the tools and work.
Yep the music screwed up this video and kept me from subscribing
Not worth unscribing folks, creator said they didn’t realize it, only humans
I ran across your channel last week and have binged watched all of your videos.
I'm a 45 year old African American. I grew up in Chicago, lived in Hawaii, and have now settled down in a small city, two hours south of Chicago. As I age, I'm drawn closer to this kind of living. I started a small lawncare business, which is totally different from my previous professions. I worked for the DOD/Air Force in Hawaii and then a General Manager for a very large student housing company in Champaign IL.
I must say, you are truly an inspiration, and my motivation! I wish you and your family nothing but blessings and can't wait to see how it all turns out.
One last thing, what is your profession? You have many skills. Super impressive! I assume you're a contractor.
Thank you for the kind words. I was in the commercial construction field for about 8 years but just enjoy working with my hands and have been since I was a teenager.
What part of Africa did you immigrate from?
@TriStarHomestead, you're welcome. I'll be following you guys along your journey.
Looking good! Every night when I go to bed, I’ll say a prayer for the eXmark zero turn! 😂 I’ve been through Morristown a couple times, welcome to the south.
Great job!
Great video y'all !! Congratulations on the new homestead. Y'all made it look so much better. Young man you are a hard worker and very talented. That little one was havin a blast drivin the zero turn lol. Can't wait to see rest of y'alls journey! Thanks for sharing enjoy your family time and new homestead.
Thank you!
You both have accomplished so much in only 3 months! Enjoy watching your journey...thanks for sharing it with us!
Thank you!
You've made a lot of progress in the 3 months. Looking forward to seeing more.
What an amazing journey so far! 😀
I thought "this is just another video about a couple creating a farm..." but No! this was really good! (I saw a lot of them...)
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
Just happened across y'all's channel today. Love to watch homesteading channels. You all have been busy this summer and have gotten a lot done. Will be watching from Oklahoma.
Thank you!
I have just subscribed and I am really enjoying watching you two. You are a beautiful family and doing what others only dream about. You are both doing a great job. My suggestion to you, as soon as you can, plant all your fruit trees so when your little bub gets to 5 y/o she { I hope I got that right} will be able to enjoy eating the fruit. My son and his wife are doing the same thing as you here in Victoria but a little ahead of you, I can't wait for the next video Cheers Ray Mann Melbourne Australia.
Thank you! We plan to plant the trees in the spring along with some others we just ordered.
Well done! Lot of improvements in just 3 months.
Thanks!
Te fuiste a vivir al paraíso, muchísimo momentos de felicidad para la familia.

These videos are great. You have a real talent for balancing the speaking parts with the music. Love the song choices. Keep up the good work
Glad you like them!
Great recap, thanks for sharing this journey with us, so much fun, hope to get down to help.
Looking forward to it!
Nice to meet you
Good start with the property cleanup. I’m sure you will turn it into a beautiful place. Thanks for your video. Be safe.
Thank you!
WOW looks good.
Great video. You earned a subscriber here. Good luck with your project! Everyone around me thought we were nuts when we bought 25+ overgrown acres but its the best thing we ever did, were now in the process of purchasing another 7.5 acres that adjoins the lower half of our property. We feel a whole lot less reliant on anything or anyone and there is a piece of mind that comes with that, especially these days!
Thanks! Good for you guys! We are already looking at adjoining pieces. You ain’t kidding on the less reliant pet either.
Make a lot of progress
Welcome to the neighborhood
Thanks!
Great start! Welcome to the SE! We are almost neighbors. Looking forward to watching more videos on your channel!
Thank you!
It Looks a great farm folks.

Nice, channel! Look forward to following along on your journey. We can't wait to be back to our little hobby farm in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Cheers all the way from England! Jess & Chris
Thanks for following and the kind words. That is a beautiful area up there. We hope to get up that way some time to check it up.
Hola, me encantan lo que han hecho. Por favor activar los subtítulos, los vemos desde diferentes países del mundo y la traducción automática es importante. Bendiciones.

Мої вітання👋🇺🇦
Ви чудова родина🥰
Бажаю вам вдалого життя!
Muy bueno 💪💪💪💪💪💪💯💯💯💯🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Very niceee property ❤
Thank you!
Hey! Just a recommendation- as someone who works in the veterinary field, carrying your pigs like that hurts them and can injure them and pull their legs out of socket…I would recommend finding some videos on pig anatomy that have recommendations on how to carry them. Good luck out there!
Interesting. I’ll have to look into if you have any videos you recommend I would appreciate it.
Awesome beautiful family hard working man can't wait to watch your journey !! new subscriber
Thank you!
love you
Nice job 🎉❤
Thanks
Not to worry
Hey new to your channel and I'm from North Carolina
Hi, love watching you guys. Could you turn the volume down or drop it when you talk . We cannot hear what your husband says because the music is too loud. It's really wonderful what your all doing and accomplishing.
Just found you and wish you all the best .Great video guys looking forward to more.
Thank you!
How much land do you have? It is impressive how much you have gotten done in these time laps. I have started documenting my land work on 16 acres in Northern MN, but you have 30 years on me.
We have just over 20 acres. Good luck to you on your acreage and journey as well!
Its like farm simulator in RL 😂❤
Enjoyed your video. Please lower the music volume so we can hear you. Thanks
Las ciudades ya sirven para vivir todo es demasiado caro y se llevá una mejor vida en el campo y muchos no podrán pagarse esa vida de ciudad 😂🎉
Enjoyed watching this, from the Uk. Tunes at 5.48 and 17.50-22.0 ?
You probably need an aerator for the pond 💡
It’s on the list! The solar powered ones are not cheap and the ones that are, are just that, cheap. Hopefully in the next couple years we can get that pond thriving.
Love he video. The only critism is the dubbed in music over the talking.
Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩
👍
Interesting adventure!
Like others said, that music made it impossible to hear you sometimes.
One tough zero turn mower!
I would have the pond water tested before letting animals drink it. A friend of mine was losing sheep and finally figured out it was the pond water causing it.
All the best!
Great work, maybe a small tractor would have been a good investment. All the best from Ireland
Would love a tractor! In due time I’m sure. Thanks for watching!
Congrats, amazing job done. Please lower that music,we cant hear anything.
Thanks
You need to get his and her owers.
hay bud like your channel hay next time you have to rent skid steer get the bush hog with it to it make clearing around the pond a lot faster
Totally wish I could. The place I rent from has only one high flow setup on a skid steer and that unit has been broken down. Would be real quick.
no shit go figure@@TriStarHomestead
Everything is looking good and my only question is how are you able to have all those things including the land,, new riding lawn mower, new impliment trailer, nice fancy travel trailer, fancy big pickup, and now getting ready to build a new house, All those things and so young and calling it homesteaders?
I would assume they worked hard to achieve their dream. You should check out the Dick Proenneke documentary and you would see the same thing. Homesteading isn't about building something while being broke. I'm impressed that two young people actually worked for something instead of playing video games and living in their childhood basement at 25.
You’re doing a great job. If you don’t mind me asking how many acres?
Thank you! We have just over 20.
You need to wear speaker when you talk even though you a man can't hear you that good hun enjoyed the video just can't hear Eros always God bless and be safe
Just came across you on youtube. Folliwing now. Nice find in tenn. How much land do yall have? Hopw you plant some trees for shade
Thank you! We have just over 20. Trees are in the works.
you need a couple hundred goats turned lose on those weeds....nice job
Great video, but very very hard to hear you over the loud music. Maybe lower it to more of a background music, perhaps.... Just a suggestion since I read a few other comments about being able to hear the talking over the music
Please keep some sort of native grasslands! It's sad seeing such beautiful land get destroyed.
Keeping land maintained is hardly destroying it. If not for me doing what I have done here this place would be covered in invasive trees and there would be no “grasslands.”
I’m moving from Hawaii to your general area, do you have a Realtors name that I could use as well please? Looking for 2-4 acres, great job so far!❤❤❤
Send us an email with the areas you are looking at and if it’s in range we can give you a realtors name. 👍🏻
Just know those piggies are going to come to a sticky end
Only one was for meat. The other two are our breeders.
Please have cc on I’m hearing impaired and miss much of the commentary.
Captions are turned on on all the videos. If RUclipss bots can't pick up on words then they won't be available for certain videos. There is nothing I can do on my end to change that. I just checked and it seems like this video is one of the only ones that they are not working on. Sorry.
Hi good luck with the channel. Could you turn down the back ground music just a little loud hard to hear you thank you looking forward to the growth
Why at the start of the vid, while in the truck, does your dog look scared or sad?. Secondly, wrong mower, i would have used one that would let me bale the hay and sell it, make some money off the cut grass.
I wanna find land like to to move on in missouri
Good luck to you! We thought about Missouri but not a fan of the tornados and ticks.
My name is Curtis Harlan
Wow this is nice how many acres?
Thank you. Just over 20.
That's awesome I want to get into homesteading but I don't know how to start or where to start
Your at the right place. RUclips and books can teach you a lot and what you need to get started!
