Thank you for your honest review. I was considering Blue Waters as a excursion for my son and I but I will find something else because I don’t like smelling smoke either. Do you recommend any other excursions family friendly? I’ll be traveling next summer
Been to Jamaica a few times on cruises so I totally get your review of the beach outing. You presented it well so that those who would like that type of excursion could book it and for others, stay away. You will love 7 mile beach - beautiful. We have loved Cayman on each adventure there. Thanks for your videos. Have fun.
Thank you Allison for your thoughts on your excursion and the cruise overall. It is always nice to compare the different cruise lines and see what is the best bang for your buck. I have sailed on RC three times but it was many years ago and it is nice to know what it is like now.
Literally was looking up reviews of all the RC beach excursions for my family of 17, and your review of the smoky beaches has helped me make the decisions. No paid excursions in Jamaica...got it. Thanks for the heads up!

Quite revealing, thank you! We're cruising to Jamaica soon and had thought about booking our small group a private excursion, going to the Green Grotto Caves first, followed by the Blue Water Beach Club on the way back, arriving there at about 1.00pm and leaving at about 3.30pm. We might have had some quieter time towards the end, but I'm glad we changed our minds. Jam packed seating and smoky noisiness isn't our cup of tea either.
This is my cup a tea ty for a honest non judgmental review.

The last time Princess took us to Cabo San Lucas a 2 and1/2 hour highlights tour turned into a 4 and 1/2 hour timeshare presentation of Los Cabo. People had to buy their own drinks and food.....People started walking out and went outside the hotel with the tour director trying to stop us.....There were a whole string of Taxis outside the hotel waiting for people to take them back to the ship. The taxi drivers said they always take people back from these tours when they find out what is really going on......
Allison you should go to Barbados and go to the beach there it is absolutely beautiful white sand clear beautiful blue waters
Hi, we haven’t been to Jamaica in a long time. Magens Bay is a beautiful beach in St Thomas and St Maarten has nice beaches. One is close to the ship. There’s a water taxi which takes you to town and a beach near. The eastern Caribbean beaches are beautiful and there are many islands to visit.
We sailed explorer of the seas 10/15-10/21. I love RC but was so disappointed with the food on that ship! I thought the buffet was like school cafeteria food. The dinning room was hit or miss. Is all the great food in the pay restaurants? I really want to be loyal to Royal since we have an opportunity to cruise when we want. But now I’m second guessing myself. We experienced something very similar in the abc islands this last time. No personal space at all. Truly on top of others. Cayman Island has beautiful beaches. Can’t wait to hear about it!
For the last few years if our ship stops at a Jamaican port we usually just walk around the terminal area. They usually have shops set up. After you've done Dunn's River falls, rafting on the Martha Brae River and visiting a banana plantation I think I've done everything I want to do in Jamaica. They are lovely people but it is a very poor island and sometimes you get very aggressive people trying to braid your hair or sell you something.

We usually don't go to Jamaica anymore, the excursions are not what you would expect . You'll love grand Cayman, even just to walk around. We've done the stingray adventure.

I am going on celebrity reflection to Ocho Rios Jamaica. Any idea where it how to get to a real nice beach they’re from what I’ve seen online they don’t look that great the ones by the port.
Dunns Falls is a good excursion, just plan on a lot of vendors

Allison, I think you would enjoy a trip to the turtle farm instead of a beach day. My daughter and I have both been and it was great. I am worried that an excursion tot he beach will involve parked like sardines beach chairs also. Grand Cayman is always very busy. Please go to the southern CAribbean someday…best beaches…St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Thomas, Antigua, St Kitts…..this is where we are going in January.
I agree about Grand Cayman beaches being packed. We got there and left asap. Southern Caribbean is better for enjoying the beach. Having once lived in Texas and sailed out of Galveston (and the port of Houston when it was open) we tired of the Western Caribbean. Will only sail the Eastern and Southern Caribbean now.
It sounds like the excursion was grossly misrepresented in all of their advertising.
If it was me,I would try to get my money back for that excursion...
Same here. I would have shown the video with no space and the clouds of smoke. Absolutely crazy and unacceptable. We literally was about to book this. This is why it is important to look at many different reviews.
Thank you for mentioning that about the smoke. I am asthmatic and can't be around smoke.
As to the missing steward why didn't they call housekeeping? Or leave a note in their cabin for the ice request. Smelly room...yuck, get me another cabin, fast!
You are braver than I am. I would never do an excursion in Jamaica.
@Cruising for O e Hi Jeffrey, I don’t think we are braver. I think we clearly don’t know what we are doing here. Any insight you have for us is greatly appreciated. Would you do a beach excursion on Grand Cayman? That’s what we have for tomorrow and I am worried about it. I just wanted to see the beautiful white sand beaches with the beautiful water and get to put my feet in.
@@LetsGoTravelTips I have never gone to the beach on Grand Cayman but I think you will it to be a much better experience. Grand Cayman is is more like St. Thomas or Porto Rico if you have been there.
that looks awful..just awful!!! Frankly I would want a refund. I am way too old for that action. Seven Mile Beach is much nicer....but go on your own...walk the beach.
