That ONE game, showed that what Ten Hag had always said was true, when he has his key players fit and available, they can compete with the best in the world. Injuries ARE definitely the reason for our 8th place finish, they limited options, they limited the standard in training, the limited competition for places. I love Marcus. I think when he's at his best, we're at our best. I question the people around him. Some of his decisions off the pitch, you just wonder if they truly have his best interest at heart. Know what I mean? If I was Marcus' friend -- a proper friend -- I'm not sure I'd be encouraging him to get on the lash two nights in the row and miss training. That's not a friend.
He wasn’t at his best in the final but he put a shift in for once hopefully if he stays for next season he can get some confidence from the end of this season and kick on.
The FA Cup is massive. The money in the premier league and champions league has people convinced finishing fourth is bigger but it just isn’t. As fans, you don’t get the benefit of the increased revenue, it doesn’t go to your pockets, but the experience and euphoria of winning the best cup competition in the world is priceless.
I wasn’t a fan of Dalot but I will be admit and hold my hands up. He has proved me wrong this season at stages and really hope he kicks on. One thing I do love is his professionalism and passion for the club
Ffs guys chill out. Guarantee Rashford would be top scorer at arsenal? Cmon. Its crazy how the fa cup clouds judgement. Rashford is very limited realistically
Wan-Bissaka largely had the better of Doku. The team's formation meant Wan-Bissaka needed to keep tight to the center, so Wan-Bissaka couldn't afford to be just throwing himself into pure 1v1s no matter Doku's positioning. Bissaka had a disciplined positional game, which has traditionally been a weakness of his. Doku rarely got past him and instead had to pass the ball into the center. Those passes into the center are the natural sacrifice a team makes when defending super narrow against an elite dribbler.
We're not getting much this summer, guys. We've only got £35M, so I reckon it's a centreback and a striker, and Amrabat maybe. We'll find out how good Ineos are if they can actually make some good sales.
Since Scholesy I think Mainoo is someone with great potential, general and football IQ. Not hoping to see another Scholesy or comparing with him, I really wish Mainoo the very besy to fullfill all his potential and grow with his identity. I feel optimistic for the future ❤
Adam Mckola is the best real and emotionally intelligent when he's on it and taking it seriously. This calm version is serious and caring. Though I love it when he gets in to it on other podcasts and shows.
I was constantly saying to my mrs’ Dad that I wasn’t worried at all that they kept playing through Doku. Even though he scored (when he went very narrow), AWB eats up that kind of dribbling forward.
i kinda disagree that the club tried very hard to "make anthony work", he played about 1/3rd as much as Garnacho or Rashford in total minutes, and Rashford by your own admission had a bad season. And if you count starts, it was no comparison either. you could make a better argument for them trying to make Rashford work by starting him no matter how badly he played. Anthony was mostly used in cup and as a sub, yes he got more playing time than Amad, but I don't think the gulf between them is so great, anthony also scored a crucial goal against Liverpool. It's the price tag on Anthony that makes him such a massive disappointment.
It was a 9 month bout of what felt like extreme constipation, and a cup came out at the other end. Coventry is a better barometer for the season, but if ETH has learnt from his mistakes, he'll emerge from it stronger. The tactical change in the final shows he can adapt, but why has it taken this long? That's what INEOS will be asking. If he can demonstrate he's learnt from his mistakes and can work with them, who knows?
The media coverage around the game was an absolute disgrace. Just breezing over them winning the final and jumping straight into his job security, trying to bait him into badmouthing the owners, all the talk of "excuses". And pundits will defend it by saying "what do you want me to say? that you were amazing?" Which is just an absurd reduction of the argument, it's not that they've said United are bad, it's that they just glaze over the whys. Someone said years ago, you don't sell papers with Man United just being okay, or trying to make a balanced argument, they're either terrible or amazing, there is no inbetween.
Hate how football365 has been running stories like 5 reasons to sack EtH! Like seriously? These media pricks arent happy until they cut open the club and dismantle it, then beat down for being broken... Ineos need to do better!
Imagine a midfield that had herrera Bruno and mainoo that would be a tenacious but with a great amount of quality /legs midfield and all three of those players willing to run through walls for the team. It would be hard for us to be out worked or outclassed midfield wise .
What did you think of Michael Owen ‘s tirade on ETH just before the Arsenal game? Expecting Utd to get beaten by Arsenal, Newcastle and Brighton and absolutely thrashed by City.
If Ineos had already decided to sack EtH, he would've been sacked by now. So that can't be the case. I also find it really hard to believe that Ineos would've waited until after the final to review this season. It's much more likely imo that they already knew before the final if they wanted to continue with Ten Hag or start anew with someone else. And since they obviously haven't sacked him, it seems like they want to continue with EtH. This also makes sense considering that Ten Hag has said that Ineos told him they wanted to continue with him. I think the crux is that veto that Ten Hag has on transfers. Ineos is most likely not keen on that staying. So I think that is gonna be a big sticking point in whatever negotiations is going on right now. Hopefully they can agree on something so we'll see Ten Hag at OT next season as well.
I don’t think the veto is anything more than media hype. The whole point of having Ashworth and Wilcox at the club is to work with the manager. It the norm at clubs now and they simply identify how they want to play, then identify players that suit that system. It’s not like Van Gaal asking for a centre midfielder and a centre half, then Woodward rocking up with falcao and Di Maria. If anything it takes some of the pressure off ten hag. The previous system we had was limiting him to guys he’d worked with before or guys who had played in Holland because he simply doesn’t have the time to be scouting for new talent.
Come on, it was a good result but city won the title! I think we’re sounding a bit desperate. Ten Hag should stay because there is no obvious replacement but he needs backing, not just in the transfer market but moving players on and sorting out the terrible injury list.
So my problem with Bruno as Captain, is that he is not steely when we are down. He doesn't stay disciplined and drag us back to winning. Which to me is the key trait for a leader. He is a great player when we are winning. And in a setup when we have enuf working teamwise he is a great contributer. But, I still suspect we would be better off selling him for value right now. As he is peak value, before he starts to decline with age. I'd rather buy two younger players to develop. But I am not set on it. I rate runo.
I dont think ETH should be sacked, it was a horrible season in the elague, we had a lot of injuries yes, but its not excuse for everything! we had other players where we should do better than what we did. This game in my opinion should count for something, not because we won, but ther way we won it. we had hunger, we wanted to win and played as a team, we were proactive. We need to have that every game, we really need to have more signings for ETH to have more options in case injuries happens, we can have more options with quality
I once again must say that Varane played the most games of any centre back at the club this season. "Injury prone" - what about Maguire, Lindelof and Evans being injury prone?
In fairness Gary Lineker did try to keep it on the football that had just been played... it was shearer who was the one who started the talk on finishing 8th and then the conversation was only able to go one way...
That post match “interview” with Linekar and Shearer was an absolute disgrace 😡 Some in the media have had it in for him from the off because he got the job over their media darling mate Poch. Pep never gets pulled up about his 100m flop Grealish, yet ETH constantly hammered over Antony signing
I’m not saying ten Hag is necessarily better than Arteta. Arteta has the backing of a proper working environment behind him. Ten Hag has not the opportunity to work with competent people who knew what they were doing. Each season has been an small incremental improvement for Arteta and I applaud his and Arsenal’s efforts. An FA cup and 2 succesive 2nd places aint bad. For ten Hag, 2 cups over 2 succesive seasons in 3 finals in his first 2 seasons aint bad either in pretty horrible working conditions. 10:59 Can McKenna do that? Can de Zerbie do that? In a pressure cooker environment like United? Not even SAF could do that in his first 2 seasons.
Best result timing, Beat the Scousers before the international break(2 weeks of happy). then beat Chitty in the FA Cup Final!!! FFS :) , and as a bonus Newcastle get booted from Europe :) It's only a game...hahaha
Even though Doku had AWB on a plate, I still think AWB is better one-on-one than Dalot. Nothing against Dalot, they're just different players. Id keep both for options in depth. Horses for courses and all that
People forgetting last season we won just 5 more games and came 3rd.. we blew at least 4 easy wins this season and that was without half they first team all season
Strange that they are only now talking about at a review , this is going to sounds weird but I reckon SJR/Ineos were expecting united to lose and for them to have enough evidence to then sack him. But winning has complicated things , heard earlier that by winning the FA cup it has also added more financial responsibility to SJR to pay him for that cup win as a bonus. That added with the majority of the fans now wanting him to stay , it seems like they are now swayed. Decision should have been made on Friday evening in my opinion , it shows they are not decisive when making decision , and dear I say it very Glazer ish. I just hope they dont mess up the transfer window.
Prospective transfers couldn't be made any more complicated than not knowing who the manager is going to be. INEOS were angry that a reporter "leaked" the story, that ETH was being sacked regardless of the result of the final, and yet INEOS appear to be hampering proceedings entirely based on the final!
being realistic, We need players in every position! I feel we all know our 11 is strong but beyond that the gulf in quality is scary, Id be ok with us going out and signing some young players from the Championship instead of 1 flashy player for our entire budget!
Would Klopp have done better than 8th, at United with our basket case of owners CEO and director of football, rashy sancho, Antony off field issues, and injuries and overall lower squad depth?
Amrabat for the 6 hes cheap. 2 centerbacks one has to be todibo and maybe tossin on a free. A good leftback and a striker are the NEED to replace positions. The rest is dependent on who is going in the summer.
Beat your local rivals and use it to talk about Arsenal.....strange but we take it as a compliment. We're in a good place and the future is undeniably bright for us given the ages of Arteta and our squad. Congratulations on winning the cup btw.
Amrabat - takes time to settle in a new league, was injured when he arrived, and then played in the wrong position to begin with. Its understandable why he was poor to begin with. Id sign him and a great squad player

Love this convo from the best combo. Good stuff lads.
Joe devoured a roasted chicken like a Neanderthal who had just discovered fire and cooked for the first time 🔥 😂
I wasn’t a fan of Dalot but I will be admit and hold my hands up. He has proved me wrong this season at stages and really hope he kicks on. One thing I do love is his professionalism and passion for the club
29:53 you can tell it gets to pep that city will never be as big as United
Ffs guys chill out. Guarantee Rashford would be top scorer at arsenal? Cmon. Its crazy how the fa cup clouds judgement. Rashford is very limited realistically
Bruno is top. Casuals will never really know and will just believe Talk Sport type non sense.
Others can stop you temporarily, but you are the only one who can do it permanently keep it up and keep improving your game surely success is certain
Brilliant, best content you have done, loved it!
That’s what I sad I really wish ETH had turned to Gary & Alan you know how hard it is to win trophies coz what have thy won sweet F A
We're not getting much this summer, guys. We've only got £35M, so I reckon it's a centreback and a striker, and Amrabat maybe. We'll find out how good Ineos are if they can actually make some good sales.
What about 38 games where the team finished in 15th in expected points - you cannot ignore that no matter what injuries included
The chemistry on this episode reminds me of York and Cole , great video
An Arsenal fan who will say: "Everyone is obsessed with Arsenal!" In 3, 2, 1 ...
"Better than Arteta" used to be a regular segment on this channel in the OGS days!
I watch a lot of fan channels and I have to say, they do go on about Arsenal a lot. It's a bit weird.
It's because arsenal fans keep saying there gona win the league or champions league. And end up winning naffin lol 😆. They have biger fish to fry.
@@stephenmcguire8545 Paying attention to online fans will guarantee you see the biggest idiots, no matter what club it is.
@@kevinb9830 . Thanks lol
Ten Hag .proved on saturday the kind of manager he can be given time.He mastered Pep Guardiola ffs nuff said.
Since Scholesy I think Mainoo is someone with great potential, general and football IQ. Not hoping to see another Scholesy or comparing with him, I really wish Mainoo the very besy to fullfill all his potential and grow with his identity. I feel optimistic for the future ❤
Once 4th spot was too far, it was right to focus on the FA Cup. Ten Hag is a winner.
Adam Mckola is the best real and emotionally intelligent when he's on it and taking it seriously. This calm version is serious and caring. Though I love it when he gets in to it on other podcasts and shows.
If you think he is emotionally intelligent you have serious problems
People forget we were saying Ten Hag was great at in game management. Everytime he made a change, it improved our play
Scottish cup is the oldest cup. Fa cup is the older competition, however, the trophy wasn't introduced until years later
Nar I'm not having that macca, zero luck, 115 million % deserved through hard work! Well deserved win for us devils
On the Doku/AWB goal: I think Garnacho - trying to help out, to be fair to him - got in the way and Doku went around HIM, more than AWB.
Imagine a midfield that had herrera Bruno and mainoo that would be a tenacious but with a great amount of quality /legs midfield and all three of those players willing to run through walls for the team. It would be hard for us to be out worked or outclassed midfield wise .
The chicken story had me howling 😂😂
What did you think of Michael Owen ‘s tirade on ETH just before the Arsenal game? Expecting Utd to get beaten by Arsenal, Newcastle and Brighton and absolutely thrashed by City.
He's never been known for thoughtful analysis.
I thought it was good and showed how much he cared about Manchester United. Owen is top five best English player ever he is like r99!
Great FA win but please applaud the womens FA win too.
It was just as massive.
The guys already did congratulate the women.
27:27 Joe laughing like Lord Farquard 27:27
I once again must say that Varane played the most games of any centre back at the club this season. "Injury prone" - what about Maguire, Lindelof and Evans being injury prone?
In fairness Gary Lineker did try to keep it on the football that had just been played... it was shearer who was the one who started the talk on finishing 8th and then the conversation was only able to go one way...
They can both eat it.
The kid "Alphy" face got viral at the last goal with the liverpool f.a game hehehe lolol
Trophy-less fans who are hating please go elsewhere 😂
Mainoo seems to have a knack for big moments
Small moments, big moments. Don't think he's bothered. Football is Football for him.
I told my mate who’s also a Man U fan I had a feeling we would win and that was a day before
Imagine being told as a club you need open heart surgery!
Imagine winning 2 titles in 2 years at the same time as being operated on
They have just said Olise to Chelsea is on but it was on the Football Terrace. It must be true then.
The football terrace is below tier Z 😂😂
Best result timing, Beat the Scousers before the international break(2 weeks of happy). then beat Chitty in the FA Cup Final!!! FFS :) , and as a bonus Newcastle get booted from Europe :) It's only a game...hahaha
You have to enjoy these moments - FA Cup got me through the late 70s and the 80s. Also fantastic chicken related section.
Even though Doku had AWB on a plate, I still think AWB is better one-on-one than Dalot. Nothing against Dalot, they're just different players. Id keep both for options in depth. Horses for courses and all that
12:50 I'll genuinely agree to this. It's got a really good battery and I have the same issues trying to find the charger 😏😬
That Titanic segment was funny asf!! 🤣🤣🤣
People forgetting last season we won just 5 more games and came 3rd.. we blew at least 4 easy wins this season and that was without half they first team all season
Well, this aged terribly.
Love this club even in our worst times they give us moments to be proud of ❤️
Strange that they are only now talking about at a review , this is going to sounds weird but I reckon SJR/Ineos were expecting united to lose and for them to have enough evidence to then sack him.
Absolutely. Please give ETH another 5 year deal. Put to action what u believe in and not just say for the sake of saying.
being realistic, We need players in every position! I feel we all know our 11 is strong but beyond that the gulf in quality is scary, Id be ok with us going out and signing some young players from the Championship instead of 1 flashy player for our entire budget!
Im always saying how many managers are out there in the premier league who have won trophies???
We’ve done another Ander Herrera thing by letting Verane go. Why’d you keep Maguire and let Verane go? Makes no sense to me.
6 minutes to mention injuries, yet he managed to win a trophy despite having injuries and barely rotating
Luke Shaw has missed more games than Varane since his arrival, I think it’s time we speak about Shaw leaving
Not worth the money at all but Anthony did generally play better towards the end of the season.. including the goals v Liverpool & Burnley
Maitland Niles caught me off guard 🤣
Would Klopp have done better than 8th, at United with our basket case of owners CEO and director of football, rashy sancho, Antony off field issues, and injuries and overall lower squad depth?
Amrabat for the 6 hes cheap. 2 centerbacks one has to be todibo and maybe tossin on a free. A good leftback and a striker are the NEED to replace positions. The rest is dependent on who is going in the summer.
Rashy needs to take time to sort his personal issues out and being away from Europe is a good thing for him. I think he’ll come good next season.
