Another thing that got me in the whole saga was EFAP complaining about Synth "punching down" on ZNC. They respond to all sorts of people on EFAP unprovoked, Rags responded to a child once. On top of that ZNC made a video about Synth first. The whole episode really changed my opinion on EFAP and I hadn't even heard of Synth before then.
The whole New Vegas portion of the video is an obvious no brainer. Most who are hyper fixed on politics would have immediately spotted the many elements of creeping progressivism both in video games and film. New Vegas wasn’t even the first lol. We can go to the 90s with surface level female empowerment tropes, to the 70s-80s inclusion of more black actors. The one saying that “New Vegas was never woke”, was probably someone exposing themselves for being a late bloomer (probably also a child).
The 80:s saw the appearance of the "black action hero" , I doubt that was politically motivated. It simply allowed Hollywood to use a wider range of actors and was popular with black audiences while no longer bothering the white majority audience. Black parts were also likely easier for them to write than other minority groups (which you saw much less of) , say, if they'd included a Chinese-American police detective. Black characters could either be written pretty much the same as white ones, like in Predator 2 or Blade, or else they were usually the Eddie Murphy streetsmart motormouth archetype.
Female NCR Ranger..... I feel like I don't need to say anything. ..but.. I'm pretty sure that chic could kill me in real life, they don't just toss that rank/role around like party favors. They ain't the U.S ARMY trying to get D.E.I points or good press. They are at actual war with The Legion. I'm not dogging Synth, just pointing out that if they were back in the NCR capital then yeah he'd be right. But not on the damn front line in the hopes of holding the Hoover Dam.(no pun intended)
It's not about her fighting regular, normal guys, it's about her fighting trained, skilled veterans/fighters. For example, sure, a pro westler woman would easily destroy me, a regular dude, but she would stand no chance against a pro wrestler man. If a man and a woman are on the same level (in their own groups, for example #1 tennis players in the male and female categories respectively), the woman stands absolutely no chance whatsoever.
