- Sooo, 805005 is the first to make it into AVT colours and one of my viewers has commented that instead of being known as an Azuma, these should be known as a Nishikaigan to reflect the Japanese pronouncation of West Coast - further more - having looked into this further, I think the 805s would actually be ''Nihosei no Nishikaigans'' or slightly abbreviated .... '''Nihosei Nishi's'' reflecting these being Bimodal West Coast-ers in Japanese. The 807s should be ''Nishikaigans'' or just Nishi's for short ... sooooo this is what I am going to go with ... moving forward ... after all ... all trains have nicknames ...

That 59 nickname does make me chuckle, the one I’ve always heard is “daddy shed”
Lol yeah .. its great isn't it .. sheds on steriods
I like the look of avanti’s new toy
I like the fact that when they run under the knitting, they're gonna be climate heroes ... not like a comparatively noisey and dirty Voyager
Azuma is actually Japanese for East hence LNER Azuma I definitely like the name Nishikaigan maybe getting in touch with Avanti West coast with your idea
One of my watchers posted about it a week or so ago on one of my clips, this then made me look at what a West Coast bi-modal would translate into .. something that the railway community could differentiate between 805 and 807 which will look identical
@@johnson_street_IEMD I know LNER have a mixture of Electric and Bi Mode what you got to remember is 805 is 5 car trains as the 807 are 7 car but they all come under AT300 family.
well, there's no reason for us West Coasters to take it one step forward, is there ? lol@@pj6641
Hah, standardisation is the moral behind first group
thank you :-)
They look nicer than pendolinos, but never be like those with tilts and speed
Yeah, they dont tilt, as far as I understand
@@johnson_street_IEMDwhy?? The tilt was done to hell make the corners more comfortable at high speed
Great video - the trains look decent. Do they couple up with each other automatically, without the use of a chargehand?
Sadly, i am not a Hitachi 80X expert unfortunately, but i gather one or two peeps may have now seen this clip .. and may be able to answer this question ... that said, a number of the class are now running on the network and imagine GWR, LNER or Hull Trains may do similar moves with their 80Xs ...
Avanti's IET interiors look decent compared to GWR.
thats interesting, cos i have heard and read that the LNER ones are a bit cramped ... hopefully, they'll have taken this into account ..
So it is blue
Yep ... just like the Pendo ...
Looks like they’ve got bench seats inside 😖
I have now been inside the cab of 805006 but as for the seats I couldn't comment .. the ones I saw I am sure were covered up
