Went to the my local 5.11 store and I tried these on, Immediately bought them along with the defender flex urban pant. Love how these fit and they don’t look “tacticool” at all.
I only care about a lot of cargo pockets with good materials, but I need to look "professional" for work so I get kacki looking ones instead of jeans. We need more slim leg options for tactical pants.

Perhaps it's just me, but the diagonal front pockets look more tactical than the standard cargo pockets to me... I don't love the carbo pocket look, but it's hard to beat the utility of them.
The slash thigh pockets are fantastic at the range for stashing AR mags, but the slash pockets stay flat to be easily overlooked out in public. The upper back pocket over the Velcro back pockets serve the same purpose.
Great review thanks for this. I’ve been wanting to get these but they don’t have them in black or dark grey yet. Unless they’re all sold out. Also worried about the fit ordering the wrong size. What size do you take?

I really like these pants as well. However I think 5.11 is starting to phase them out as the grey and brown ones are already being marked down for clearance

They may give it a slight hint of tacticalness, but I think definitely not as much as actual cargo pockets.

I hate cargo style pants. I love my 5.11 Defender flex pant and jeans. No cargo pockets, durable, stylish and holds all my EDC items.
I agree. For everyday wear they are great.
