GAWD. . . Shannon Forrest sounds SO CLOSE to Jeff. Amazing. That groove just keeps inspiring. I love Simon. But Shannon is taking it back to the origins of Toto. Good stuff.
@@jaggass Really, really good bass player, but I think people forget that he was 6+ years older than any other member of Toto, (and I think he was the one that got Jeff and a couple of others the job on Sonny and Cher) and when they started, he was the "misfit", as the older, more mature guy. When most of the guys were 24/25 or so, he was 31/32 and already a seasoned performer. In their live video, Goodbye Elenor" (1980), Luke and Jeff were about 25/26, David was 32! For this show in 2014, he's 66!!!!! Like somebody's Grampa hanging out with the boys. Only Lee Sklar is older. (1 year older than David. Proving that old guys rock!!!!!)
Thanks for posting this! Very cool man! I was at this show on the 10th row. They were incredible! It was GREAT seeing them at The Fox!!!! I'm so glad they did not play at Chastain this year!
Shannon Forrest. AKA: Jeff Porcaro (reincarnated) He's incredible, and those Brady drums sound fantastic. Closest thing I've ever heard to Jeff Porcaro, since Jeff Porcaro.
Tom B David Hungate commented that if he closed his eyes playing with Shannon Forrest it was Jeffrey on the drums. That's about the finest comment a drummer can get.
Daniel Lekardal The guy blows me away, how authentic his grooves are in those early Toto tunes. Obviously it'll be less impressive on the tunes SP recorded--but they aren't the same type of drummer. This incarnation of the band really NEEDS a guy like SF on the drums, so he is absolutely the perfect person to play the gig. I don't know the man personally, but have several friends in Nashville who tell me that he is a nice person...so you like to see good things happen for someone like that. Therefore I am very happy for him, that he's on this gig. Certainly the audience will love it...
Shannon got the Jeff's spirit
DH just sitting on the drum riser chillin. This stuff is so effortless for these extraordinary players.
That's one big drum sound. Holy shit.
Shannon Forrest is a killer drummer. First heard him with Brooks and Dunn years ago.
But... Isn't that Keith Carlock? Had a very brief spell before Shannon came on board.
@@paulcaplin2764 No, that's Shannon. They couldn't be any more different
Luke playing Enter Sandman is something you don't see every day

Shanon can pull out the chops
David McCain which is why they lost their power
Shannon is up there
Great fit
@@theandiller wrong. They got the sound from The Seventh One back and finally got the Porcaro Groove back. Toto was Jeff's band.
Absolutely cool to see original bass player David Hungate rejoin the band after 30+ years!
+EuphratTigris Then leave again last year.

Bloody Hell, Shannon sounds so much like Jeff it is uncanny.
They just break into these tunes, no effort. I wish I had a fraction of their talent.

Show!! Top▶️▶️
Toto has kicked more ass than Chuck Norris!
Since Jeff, Shannon Forrest is the best choice behind the drums. He has a lot of Porcaro in his blood. Now the band sounds much better!!!
Agreed
Jeff Porcaro reincarnate! Wow!
Love Shannon
Aí STtronda !
WTF, enter sandman????????????????????
Why not? They can play anything.
And I think Luke can play it better than Hammet
Luke can play anything better than Hammett.
