I don't know about that. When I was about 15 I would have reoccurring dreams that I was in a queue waiting to buy a sandwich. I'd buy it, then wake up before I got to eat it. Terrifying! 👀😝

I hope you get as big as knowles transport because there is no one in this game anymore that has keen spirit and attitude to the craft to get it all done keen to get into action etc etc with a smile, I’m an owner operator of 4 x 8 wheeled tippers and 2 artic tippers and 1 walking floor tipper working in South Wales working for Tarmac ltd and Breedons ltd and I just want to say 1 thing you deserve to be an operator! Too many money men out there and not enough respect for the fine craft anymore, your starting to give trucking a better name again!! I’ve subscribed to be a member and it’s well deserved! Good on you keep it up! Keep inspiring people to drive trucks!! Nice to see trucking in a good light for a change!!

i got my O license in september 2022, after you get the license you'll also have to attend a zoom meeting with dvsa officers where they'll explain you basically what you're responsibility will be. I would suggest you to write down all of your questions before the meeting so you can ask them about anything. anyway, it's a lot of work when you send the application but it gets easier later
Tim if you contact companies house you can hide your home address if it is not in public interest. Might be worth doing as it is public knowledge and easily found.

That application is a nightmare , when it comes to the transport managers part they want proof of qualification as a transport manager and that exam is probably the hardest exam I've ever done it took several attempts to finally pass lol

That Scammel is in fine form, almost... the exhaust still needs some more work, but all in all, a fine vintage truck.

Good luck with your application. That old truck reminded me of the first LGV I drove for my late Father, it was an AEC Mammoth Major with six speed crash box with twin speed rear axel. Remember it well as it used to break injector pipes regularly. The first time the injector went was at the bottom of Markham Moor hill and to get home I used a bic pen bit of a bodge but it worked lol.
I know you skipped a lot of the application process, but as another driver it's really interesting to see this side of starting and potentially running a company. Not a cheap, easy process that's for sure. I'd love to do it, but don't know if I could. I just think of all the regulations and red tape. Great video, really enjoyed it Tim. 👍

Money Money Money!! that's all it seems to be at the moment Tim, it's the same for my boss you have to pay the money out to the relevant authorities B4 you make any money back, good thing you have the merch store bringing in another income 💷
So many expenses that I didn't realise were coming! Hopefully by me showing the exact costs of setting up as an owner operator other people will be more aware! 👍👍

Operator's CPC is not an easy thing to get, when my mum did it for my dad's two lorries my sister and I moved in with my grandparents for a week so she didn't have to deal with use whilst she was doing the week course and test and in early 90's it's funny the things you remember as a kid 😄 good luck with it all dude

Im from South Africa, and i was so confused as to what an operatora license was, because down here in the south, we dont have those. you just need a registered business and that costs about R175 or about 8,50 pounds and takes about 15 minutes

I wouldn’t of advertised the public announcement part. It’s very easy for a few £ to get a back copy of that paper (I used to run transport on it). Also register your business address at the accountants Mate. I can literally search your name now and find all your details via companies house, company check etc. If I was you I’d be keeping an eye on clear score the next few months as you’ve literally giving some scummy people plenty of ammo to screw you over

There's honestly a method to do this, that's even free, at no cost. Just go and enter some random Wisbech postcode on InYourArea and boom public notices it's as easy as that's it could pop up unblurred...

As you know becoming an owner op isn’t cheep nor will it be easy and many more financial costs and safety amount. Personally I’ve looked into doing it but personally I don’t think it’s worth the effort mainly the shire amount of money down needed and Risks involved. Not as easy as USA but that’s changing as well. But I wish you well, my boss says ones you get 10 or so units and reliable work it gets easier.
