Hello and thank you so much for your videos, where I live, people don't even know what a dombra is..I would really like to know how to tune my new dombra, is there a video you can suggest? Thanks again!(:
Hi! Tune it to a 4th by holding down the 5th fret from the top on the upper string. Usually it’s tuned to D and G, but you can tune it by ear as well. If you hold down the 5th fret from the top on the upper string, the notes should be the same.
Thank you very much for this video! Do you play (with your right hand) both strings or just the lower string? Also, do you hold (with your left hand) both strings? Thanks.
The frets are the little divided bits on the neck of the instrument. If you press your finger down in the middle of them or too far back it can sound a bit buzzy and unclear, the ideal spot to press your fingers down is closer to the end of each fret (by that he means more in the direction of the body of the instrument, towards the sound hole). This way each note sounds clear. Hope this makes sense!
Valentindombrist answered quite well and hopefully you got it taken care of already but another way to think about "end of fret" might be to put your finger on the edge of that fret's ridge. Happy playing!
Salem! Would you be ale to show what the hand, index finger and thumb strikeing/strumming looks like up close in a future video? Thank you!

Hi, this looks great. I would love to buy one but I cannot find any online. I live in the Netherlands. What do you recommend?
What do you mean when you say "end of fret"? I'm completely new to string instruments of any kind.
