I think Him is definitely findable. Has Duffy’s Tavern (typically advertised with Him as a double feature) been unearthed yet? Either way, I think that’s the lead to go with on this one.
@@newestport7338 I found Duffy's Tavern too. Like HIM, it also came out in 1974 and was made on a zero budget, which makes me believe HIM had the same low production visuals. It was filmed somewhere in California judging by the blue license plates on the cars, but it was very boring and the actors were very ugly and looked like homeless guys. Plus, their voices were obviously dubbed, and badly. But hey, at least it has music by Aretha Franklin and The Rolling Stones.
@@sjdrifter72 lost it at “they looked like homeless guys” 😂 I still think one existing cut / rip of Duffy’s Dick Tavern may have at least some footage of Him spliced in. Best lead outside of continuing to contact his loved ones - although that interview with his former lover was very illuminating…shame that he doesn’t seem to have a copy.
definitely agree that this deserves to be found at some point! I may not be really interested in the film itself honestly, but its existence alone is pretty fascinating to me. Its always been a bit confusing seeing people say that it should stay lost based on concept alone, at this point I'm not sure if its just because its porn, because its gay porn specifically, or because its "blasphemous" or something. There's honestly way worse out there that I do think should stay lost for morality's sake, but this isn't one of those things- I'm surprised some people put it up there with what I think crosses a line. Due to the time period and the film itself, I wonder if there is any surviving footage to begin with? Someone in the comments on LMW claims there were production stills posted on a defunct message board, but I don't know how much evidence that puts towards a copy floating around. I wouldn't be surprised if the only copies that existed were destroyed, but there's always that chance that even a tiny piece survived. At the very least if we could find out what the defunct message board was, maybe see if backups exist or even find the person who posted them we could at least get those production stills.
People think it should stay lost because of its extreme contents, depicting a violent r*pe scene of Jesus being impaled via 4nus on the cross (Censored because RUclips algorithm)
There’s also a Essay of the film that have more information of the film and you can find it on this video: ruclips.net/video/2NQKaLwQv98/видео.html (is on the description as a Google Drive) Make a video of the essay
Writer of said essay here! The drive link in that video is actually an older revision. The current version is available on my website, you can find a link through the Lost Media Wiki article on this film.
@@miguael_ribuera I still get little bits of information sent to me from time to time. Most recent update includes citations for a few pieces of art by Ed D. Louie that were published in adult magazines throughout the 1970s. The film itself remains missing though.
I really want to see this film, as with most lost films just to see what they were like. But in this particular case, if I ever do get to see it, I know I'll end up feeling very guilty and dirty for having watched something so.....blasphemous.
