I definitely agree with Purr's opinion. I think a lot of people nowadays have tendencies to just bandwagon on cancelling stuff without knowing enough information or playing the game long enough. Also thanks for covering this topic, It's been floating around and didn't care enough to watch videos about it. Great react video! 😃
I get that people don’t like review bombing, but “just don’t buy them” is not actually a good solution the positive reinforcement for this behavior comes from the sale of the game not the microtransaction.
His point wasn't that your stamina should decrease in town, it was that your stamina should not decrease outside of town when you're not in combat. And as someone who hates Dragon's Dogma's not-so-fast travel system, I happen to agree that being able to sprint endlessly outside of town would have made the game better. Edit:Spoke too soon.
I'd prefer a rent-able mount. I hate the idea of losing an ability once in combat. Also the mount will make all enemies extremely aggressive and faster to chase after the mount.
Yeah, the review bombing over the micros is pretty wild. I couldn't get this game to stop crashing, though. It's so sad that all the publicity of what is pretty clearly a solid game is getting overshadowed by the quality of the port and this while microtransation thing.
In my view, there are 2 scenario to determine if the game being review bomb or not: 1. Preorder game. (prepurchase) In this case, review of 0.1 hour is not review bomb even if the game refunded. Why ? Because people buy with term when they pay for the game. Thus let's say like this game suddenly they add MTX without any info during prepurchase and being negative (or positive) reviewed, this is not review bomb. 2. Not preorder game. The only valid 0.1 hour or 0.5 hours review is about performance. Other than that, it is review bomb. If you want to see the difference of these 2 just look up to Reverse Collapse and Dragon Dogma 2.
From what I heard, multiple saves = multiple pawns, which means most players will just hire their own pawns which goes against their vision of how people should interact with the pawn system.
@@everrunic8375 if I remember correctly yes. Most who complain about this probably never played the first game. To be fair though Capcom has done a poor job communicating their design decisions even now they have yet to address this 'issue' formally
I'm not trying to be a dick here but let me rephrase your words *"Microtransaction is good if the game doesn't revolve around it"* but sadly that's not the world we live in.
It is enough of a big deal to me that I do not want to buy it. I do not want to support a system that makes me have to install the denevo whatever. And while I did not care in the past, I do absolutely think microtransactions in single player games is unacceptable to the point all games with it should get negative reviews regardless of the rest of the game. If not there is no pressure anywhere against it. I do not agree with the idea that piracy is as bad as people make it out to be at times. I have no intention of giving the company behind dragon's dogma 2 my money. If I where to pirate the game it effects 1 person, and that is me who get to play it without the nonsense I do not want. There is also just the reality that unless I pirate a game. I do not own the game at all. Its really the only way for me to own a game these days. To ensure the people behind it do not mess the game up in updates.
Dragons dogma is more like dark souls and its all about cycles and it does un fact take place within the same world/realm as one the sea floor shrine is the castle from the first game and im 90% sure the old man in Harve is the king from the first game
I don't care what they say about DD2. I love that game :( Also, about having multiple saves, I feel it's going to affect Main Pawn Sharing, in the rift. As in, the game might not know which save file to be used as your Main Pawn to be shared in the server. Maybe unless they have a new option which the player can configure to indicate, that this is the Pawn to be used for sharing.

Actually I don't understand Steam review bomb. You have to purchase the game in order to review / comment it on steam IIRC? So if you review bomb it, you are actually contribute to the game sales right? And if you refund it, Steam will show you refunded. In that case, why other players want to believe or respect your review? As someone that grew up in 90s and most of game I played in my childhood is complete without any DLC, in somewhat degree, I also don't like micro transaction. But I also agree with Asmongold, then DON'T buy it. Buy something that stands to your standard, there are lots of games that is both good and no DLC after release. For example, Bualdar's Gate 3. Vote with your wallet. That's the same reason why I don't play any Gatcha games or mobile games or service game.
I don't buy the whole "don't blame the devs" thing. As if there aren't any Devs that got into gaming to make money. At best they are complacent at worst they are in on it. Neither require my sympathy.
Review bombing is a strange term IMO, like its one thing if everyone that gave a negative review were in a discord and planned it to happen that way, but if thousands of people play a game and all decide something in the game is so bad and they all separately decide to give a negative review is it really review bombing? I dont know if it was a coordinated review bomb, but to me it looked like thousands of people didnt like the microtransaction and decided to give a negative review, you cant review a game on stream without first playing the game, were the negative reviews justified, well thats a matter of opinion but weather it was really a review bomb I dont personally think so.
Review bombing is usually used when the game is negatively reviewed but barely played. in this case, the negative reviews that were thrown at day one were by people who played the game for only 30 minutes or less, therefore barely experiencing the game before making an opinion on something.

Okay, this really needs to be clarified. I don't know if you've actually checked them, or just taking other peoples' (disingenuous) word for it, but the majority of the bad reviews DD2 has on steam are due to the horrible optimization. So it isn't being "review bombed" because of the MTXs. It never was.
I have never seen youtubers point this out lol. Like, the mtx is what turns people away from buying the game, the horrible optimization is mostly the cause for the bad reviews for those who bought it.
Optimization bad reviews were a thing, but the very beginning of the negative reviews had a large majority of them being for the mtx. This was day one negative reviews not after several days reviews.
@@purrodie'Large majority of them being mtx' NOPE. I checked. Those who left negative reviews based on mtx _alone_ cover only a fraction of those.
