Lol. Why cut the regular factory installed grip's off??.. All you have to do is unscrew bar end's. Then put the thin straw of WD40 up it. Squirt it and it then allows the grips to come off with ease, Rotate the grips around. And the lubricant of WD40 brings them straight off..
Could have saved the original grips by putting wd40 through a straw under them and slide off. That snake idea will cause the cables to rattle and wear out something next to it... possibly fuel line. It was brutal watching that person shave the tabs off the throttle. Big no no to the mallet and going in dry.
this product seem sub par to the Oxford premium heated grips and build quality. Especially the premium version has an intelligence for battery saving and you never need to remember to turn it off. It come with enough wire and all connectors, no cutting of cables. This is my opinion but for the same price I would want a higher quality product.
It stays on a few minutes, but if I remember information it said 5. It will start to flash when it recognizes the motor is off, then the countdown starts.
Taking your gas tank off is fairly easy and will allow you to route the wires better and more cleanly than just fishing them through as shown in the video. If by Meters you mean the speedometer/instrument cluster then no, you shouldn't need to remove that.
Well I ended up connecting it directly to the battery but I also added an LED switch with a light so I know when it's on. Hopefully that works out good.
***** You should consider the Denali PowerHub 2. This offers a switched source that turns off with the key. Available from Twisted Throttle www.twistedthrottle.com/powerhub2-fuse-block-master-ground-block-and-wiring-harness-for-motorcycles
You don't want to connect it to something other than the battery, either through a power distribution block or directly. Why? due to the nature of less than ideal electrical connections you will risk shorts and faults and sporadic voltage going places you do not intend it to go. Same reason when you disconnect the battery for maintenance, remove negative cable FIRST, and reconnect negative cable LAST. Reason for this is because if you should bump the positive lead to anything metalic when horsing around, that metallic part is still grounded to the bike via negative connection and you can arc-weld things you don't want to arc-weld. Connect powered stuff to a power distribution block which has reliable FUSED battery power (on main supply to block), fuses/breakers per circuit, and is reliably grounded directly to the negative on the battery to prevent stray current from passing through things you regret.
Theres better ones than this called oxford heated grips. They shut off when they don't feel the bikes vibration and also when the battery gets below a certain charge. Baller.
Another tip in sliding grips on and off the bars: Use compressed air in a small nozzle tip shoved beneath the grip.
Yes, don't forget the beer!

How long does it take for it to switch it off if you forget? I left mine for a few minutes and it was still on

Sloppy hurried install
So i have Some sort of Koso Heated grips for my Kawasaki Zr7. do i need to take the Gas tank off and the Meters?

Cut? Hammer? Do you know ALCHOOL?
why is there 2 throtte cables?
+Morten Gotliebsen Maybe one to pull the throttle open, and one to pull the throttle closed in case the return spring gets stuck?
I'd rather not hook it directly to the battery.
Yeah, better to connect it to something that turns on with the ignition.

They didn’t connect direct to battery. Try watching again.
Never use a hammer on the grips

Which is unnecessary when you already have a power distribution block of some kind. But I can see the appeal.
remind me to never have this guy work on my bike, with his over tightening screws and using quick splices
1:03, Ah, THAT'S what you call a box cutter! So, if it's designed to cut boxes, why are you using it on rubber?!
wtf the mechanical parts in this video almost made me cry
We always suggest taking your motorcycle to a qualified mechanic if you are not able to install the parts yourself.
5:25 can someone explain that sound
I can't hear anything at 5:25 even with headphones?
Must be my ears then haha,
Its such a lovely feature i may buy it :D
VoiceChangedMusic Yeah! A second or 2 after there is a weird noise 😂 how did you notice that?
No idea i was so tired and for some reason i heard that weard sound so i kept replaying it xD, Tryed to figure out what it was
VoiceChangedMusic Ahaha it is a weird one to be fair
Twisted Sister with hair on her hands.
A "box cutter"? Wtf is that?
Last time I checked, women don't have hair on their hands...
until someone makes heated grips With a Controller thats not a huge ugly Box ill rather stay cold
You want Koso Apollo heated grips. Heat button is integrated into grip, no controller box.
The control box is quite small actually.
