This heavy promotion you're doing for us to subscribe to WLHouse TV and watch the Thailand comp is working. I haven't been this excited about a competition of any sport in a long time. Well done. You're doing what the IWF could never do.
People are discussing how close the top guys in the 89s are to the 102s. Imagine what Li Dayin is thinking. My 396 is top in the 89s, It’s good enough to rank in the 102s but I’m still not guaranteed of going depending on what’s up with Shi and Tian. In 2021 he was second best to Liu Xiaujun and couldn’t go. If he can’t go this time I hope it is at least because Tian out totals him. If he is ranked first and still can’t go that’s just too fuckin harsh.
Yeah. Allowing only 3 athletes per gender per country to the Olympics is so disappointing. Pretty ironic that a sport with Olympic in its name gets so few spots in the Olympics. Meanwhile in swimming there are 857 events and one athlete can win 35 medals
it's really weird, 102kg is not what it should be, maybe they should increase the category by 5 or 7 kg for example.. i like Tian Tao and Li Dayin, i think they along with Li Fabin are the top 3 chinese weightlifters, but 89kg is oversaturated with good weightlifters and the presence of Karlos Nasar there remains the intrigue only for 2nd and 3rd place.. if they allow weightlifters to compete in the upper categories Karlos, Tian and LI can win all medals in 102kg
Great video as always. I'd love to learn more about how athletes and their teams decide when / how to strategically gain or lose weight to compete in different weight classes?
Esta categoría esta para alquilar balcón en París, esoero q todos lleguen bien para q el espectaculo sea increible, para mi el oro está entre huanhua y Djuraev 💪💪💪💪
the official iwf rankings list shows liu huanhua’s 418 total at the asian games as his highest total as a 102. like you said, it’s not supposed to count but that’s how it is on the website. is this a mistake with the website or is it actually contributing to his ranking somehow?
@@charlesbryant8665 I’m aware, that’s what the point of my comment was. That total was made as a 109 but it still shows up on the rankings as his best total as a 102. Seb said it wasn’t supposed to count even though he weighed less than 102 but it shows that it does on the rankings.
Why Akbar only competed on 102 once at Qualification 109 but can still Qualify as 102 ? Was the System different then competed on Competition and get Roby Points ,Or just put 1 Total on Top 10 Rank and Hide on nonOlympics Class to prevent Cut Weight the Rest
I would have to agree with Thorthewolf. I don’t like to say one category is better than another but you have to consider that the 102s standards from 6 years ago are still the target. I’m hoping Lesman can get the snatch record and either Liu or Meso the jerk. I think Liu is the top dog but not by much. He lost 20 kg on total between Asian Games and Dohar but 3 big comps in 3 months is draining. Should be well rested for Paris.
You are probably looking too hard at the top 89s. If you look at the 102s, you need 390+ total or more for top 10 atm, while in the 89s top 10 starts at 374
@@thorthewolf8801 yes that is true, the top hasnt really matured yet (Lius 418 performance was an outlier for now) the class as a whole is closer and better though, so it kinda depends on ones definition of the class has matured
@@nicholastartaglia4276 Djuraev can hit it, Liu has shown that he can hit it, Meso maybe, he hasnt shown yet that he can hit 180+ and 225-230. Jang Yeonhak doesnt look like he can do more than maybe 405 in the near future,
Defnot. I don’t believe regional Games are included in IWF rankings either for Paris or annual rankings. Liu’s 418 would have been recorded either in the 2023 year’s 109 rankings or Paris’s supers(102+)rankings as China has no other supers rankings. I don’t see it in either. It may have something to do with the fact that the IWF is not the main administrative body overseeing the Games and it is for all the other qualifying meets. Good question for WH guys.
The world standard is the current record. That will fall. How can you not like Meso the fan favorite. If Akbar Djuraev can match his 109kg total he set in 2021 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan he'll have 433kg. That's 29kg over the best 102kg lifter. Everybody else will have to fight over second.
You can’t assume Akbar is going to match his best 109 total at 102. He was pretty lean at 109 already. If he does 185/190-225/230 there should be no complaints.
Yet Liu Huanhua or the best 102 lifer you mentioned beat Akbar as an underweight at the Asian Games' 109kg session with a total of 418kg, weighing 100.8kg only. Now Liu gets heavier, and he improves his squat and pulling strength by a lot over these months, whereas Akbar gets lighter and struggles to C&J 220kg about one month ago...
Gigachad did 185/233 in comp. Karlos won't hit a snatch like that in his entire lifetime so I'm not sure what exactly your point is? He may get a 230kg+ c&j but thinking Karlos is able to beat every 102kg lifter is just straight up delusional
@@mysterylanex Karlos already doing those kg! 187-233 in training, probably weighing approximately 93kg.. Don't worry, Karlos already said he is coming at 102kg, but first he will destroy all the records in 96kg. And the year 2026 comes to destroy the records in 102 kg. because there are no record holders yet.. Who knows, after the Olympics in usa he will be 24 year old with 2 olimpyc titles.... probably
Then please tell me who has a total over 400kg in the 89 category? Cuz saying they are weaker would mean they lift the same or less than the 89s which is not the case for every athlete. I hope you understand how incredibly stupid ur comment is bro

Seb, You mention talking to Meso for five hours. Will any of that be on the podcast or any other WLH channel?
Friendship ended with the 89s, now 102s is my most anticipated battle

Djuraev knew he couldn't go super heavy because of the buzz saw known as Lasha.
