I totally groove on this man. I have no learning issues but was bored af with school, dropped out and had 25 college credits by the time my graduating class went to prom . I'm a doctor, have a successful practice, taught at uni for 15 years and am overall way happier than I would have been had I followed a "traditional" path.
I met him when he opened the Virgin record store in Vancouver. First he repelled down the side of the building then cut the ribbon and went in to shake hands and talk to all the people. He is a super nice guy and even helped me find the CD I was looking for.
Branson is just one of those i guys i like, hard to place why, just something about his demeanour. Great video, really enjoy this new venture of yours. Top work.
Probably because he comes across as a USEFUL billionaire and seems genuinely happy about it. Unlike so many of the miserable ones that seem to hold too much influence and spread their miserable world views.
That was awesome Simon! Well put together very interesting not too many commercials and I can tell just from the way you present it that you admire the man. And I have to admit I do too. I enjoy all your RUclips ventures. I don't subscribe to a lot of channels but I subscribe to several of yours and I enjoy every single thing that I watch. Keep going you are a leader in quality entertainment on RUclips.
"dropped out of school". He was kicked out for demanding a phone in his room for his business. A friends dad was the headmaster and said of him "you will either be a millionaire or a complete failure" and wished him luck in his business.
In depth research??? Ha ha I think they just googled his name, copied a couple of one sided paragraphs from various articles and put together some photos.
In addition to his dyslexia, Sir Richard Branson has ADHD and many points out to his ADHD that has made him a fantastic business and entrepreneur extraordinaire.
As a British guy you of all people should know he didn't 'drop out' of 'high school'. Compulsory education in the UK ended at 16 until a couple of years ago, and he left at a time when a very large proportion of people left formal education at 16.
I may be wrong but I believe RB did not purchase his first plane but leased it through the Chemical Bank in the U.S having been advised by Sir Freddie Laker to ensure he could always "get out of the planes if needed" Thank you for your great content, very much enjoyed.
A truly inspirational person and one of the sorts of people we really need more of to keep our faith in humanity alive these days. Also, I have a suggestion, as he's a man that did have an extremely interesting life: how does a video on Syd Barrett sound?
I love this series, my only complaint is the transition music in between different segments, using the same song and all. Even just having 2 or 3 songs to cut the repetitiveness would go a long way.
Hey Biographics people..!! You can use some of the music off my page if its any use to you.. Thanks for all the great videos off Simon's many channels/ventures..
Incredible in some ways, very much the opposite in others. He's currently trying to buy out the UK NHS to gain private income from the lives of British people, and his train services are a main factor in the ridiculously high price of UK cross-country public transport. Rather than work for the public good in these areas he instead chases after profit at the expense of the people.
Outstanding job guys, thank you! I used to own a copy of Tubular Bells (damn fine album), glad to see that he put my money to good use. A philanthropist in the truist sense, wish there were more like him.
Branson is most gifted in fleecing the government in his public contracts. Like his train lines that cost many times public trains did. And the trains ran in time...
Richard Branson: the only man in the world you feel pity for when he has a check for a billion dollars in his hand. There is something beautiful about that. Why hasn't he run for PM?
This man secured the 1966 equivalent of $76,000 as a highschool drop out for advertisement of his crappy newspaper… boi he got that money from his lawyer daddy or something
Besides the obvious Jack Ma, Mark Zuckerburg, Elon Musk, Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan also weirdly Simon Cowell came to mind.. Maybe even musicians ranging from Elvis Presley to Thom Yorke might have interesting biographies.
Very interesting coverage again of a fascinating figure. You provide so much great information and entertainment for so many. Keep up the good work. But please, Simon, stop with the so-frequent extraneous pronouns, like, "Branson, he did...", "the balloon, it came down." Thanks for your great work.
Literally 5 minutes after watching this video I read an article in my local newspaper about a concert this guy is organizing in my country in the border with Venezuela.
Hi Simon, Absolutely love your channels and videos. This message is coming from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. You've done a lot of very accurate and informative pieces about my country, and the issues that plague us. This current video you created is an excellent biography of Sir Richard Branson, very in-depth. One small request I would love for you to take consideration of would be doing a video on Justin Trudeau, and his father Pierre. Both of the Trudeau's have played pivotal roles in our countries progression as a sovereign nation, and also were/are exceptional leaders in their own right. Thank you for the giving us the chance to become informed citizens, cheers!
I beg of you simon, DO NOT make a video of justin trudeau. Dont give that clown any recognition. That sad excuse of a man has put our beautiful country back a decade. Hes a terrible excuse of a politician. Theres a reason they wanted a drama teacher as a prime minister so he could teach the rest of his cronies to be good ACTORS.
Excellent choice of topic, and well-done video. Branson is one of those people it seems like I keep hearing little bits and clips about, but never a coherent biography until now. Well done!
Love your videos, Simon!! Thanks for doing these. Only suggestion is the transitions from one section to another (ie “career” -> “personal life”) is a bit too long; almost like an awkward pause filled w music. It’s more apparent in the more recent vids because the music is distracting. I didn’t mind this transitional music, but the screens w transitions can be cut in half IMO
Thank you Master Simon!! I truly admire, perhaps love, Sir Richard Branson!! His philosophy on delegated is the ultimate genius of all truly good legendary entrepreneurs!! Still $5B seems low for all his holdings, but I trust you implicitly believe you!! P.O. Box??!!? 📬📬📬📦📦📦🙆🏻♂️🙆🏻♂️🙆🏻♂️🧝🏻♂️🧝🏻♂️🧝🏻♂️
Good video. I learned a lot. May I suggest a video about Mother Teresa of Calcutta. She inspired me to get involved in helping nursing home residents abandoned by their families. I think she is an interesting personality and relevant to the world.
Thanks for letting us know that he didn't just grown into tax avoidance as he became older, but that he committed the crime of tax evasion at the beginning too. I normally find that your stuff is reasonably balanced and informative about good and bad, but this completely glossed over his criminal behaviour and questionable ethics more recently. Any good will I ever had towards him evaporated completely when he sued the NHS for not choosing to contract services out to him. An absolutely despicable behaviour wasting valuable money that could have helped many people's illnesses was wasted. After that he can f--- off to space, and be left up there.
I totally groove on this man. I have no learning issues but was bored af with school, dropped out and had 25 college credits by the time my graduating class went to prom . Love the new channel Mr. Whistler! Can't wait for the next episode :)

@Cap'n Chaos unsurprisingly no, I think he's behaved like an absolute disgrace.

Richard Branson is an excellent mentor, I really admire his enthusiasm for life in general.
Wow, inspiring. Thanks once again!
I'm here after watching him go to the edge of space. Way to go!
Interesting character. I had no idea. Thanks for this.
I wanna meet this guy and tell him how inspiring he is. you did a great job on telling his story
I am honored to be the 13th viewer! Also, I have followed and admired Branson for decades. I'm glad you got to him quickly. Thanks, Simon & Team!
I remember reading "Losing My Virginity" when I was a kid, I recently re-read it. Just as good the second time around. Super inspirational guy.
Biographics I read it while I was backpacking around Laos and it changed my philosophy of success and the way a go about my life for the better
I love biographies. Your channel is great and very informative!
Great job Simon! You never cease to impress us!
I love your videos Simon! Thank you for all you do!

I really want to see something about CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien. Especially about their bromance.
If the Chronicles of Narnia was given the same budget lotf, it would have been more popular...care parreval, yes, ok please
A very informative video , detailed description and in - depth research

much appreciate the bios about very successful people. great, entertaining and uplifting!
Another brilliant presentation. Great job, Simon!
Great video, so insightful👍🏼👍🏼

Richard Branson's story definitely seems to be about living his best life.
If I am not mistaken, Virgin also published video games throughout Europe at some point.
A truly inspirational person and one of the sorts of people we really need more of to keep our faith in humanity alive these days.

I binge watch you great channel
Dude you are really good , amazing quality!
Great Channel! Really great info, way more detailed and interesting that the average youtube video of this type.
In summation: Sir Branson is the most Virgin man ever live on the face of the earth.
Amazing, thank you

Thanks for all the great videos off Simon's many channels/ventures..
I actually preferred this music to the music in the newer vids (ie Elon Musk)
What is the song by the way ?
@@JMB_11 The original song is temptation sensation by Heinz Kiessling.
And does anyone know where I can find this videos' version? I really like it!

For the Americans, SRB was guest shark on Shark Tank S9E1. Good episode. He even throws a glass of water over Mark Cuban.
He's not a high school dropout, 16 is the age you finish school in the UK.
Thank you .

Antonio Meirelles a like for you dp on RUclips
10 stars‼️
Can you do one on Donnchad, Earl of Fife (1113-1154)? As I think it might be interesting to see something done about a Scottish figure, from History.
Does anyone know what this music is called? It’s fantastic
Can you make one about Albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla, Thomas Edison, Walter Munk or Galileo Galilei please?

Great video Simon. But what about The Jim Brown/Viz comic input ? very early on...
So why is this pacific balloon challenge not a movie??
Perhaps do a bio of Branson's inspiration, Freddie Laker.
This guy just had money and knew what to do with it. Many people have ideas on how existent goods or services can be improved but no money.
Could you do one on jrd Tata?
