THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY WAS A CHRISTIAN BASED CONSERVATIVE party based on SELF RULE. They were the JEFFERSONIANS. The Northerners were HAMILTONIANS, they believed in strong government ruling over the people. THERE WERE a little of both in both areas, but broadly speaking, NEW ENGLAND was very much NEW ENGLAND and the Southern States were MINDING THEIR BUSINESS and not making plans to rule the entire earth.
So the blacks were all raised with the knowledge that THE REPUBLICAN PARTY was wicked - AND RIGHTFULLY SO. As much as I support Donald Trump - BECAUSE WE ARE IN DESPERATE TIMES and have such a wicked government, a warmongering bunch of godless misfits, WE NEED A TRUMP, a real old school democrat (I'm an independent) someone who will fight for the people and put the peoples tax dollars where they belong, RIGHT HERE!

Of course it’s not!!! Public schools are at a very sad state at this time. It used to be college, and they’ve been gradually working down the line. I grew up with my cousins and we were VERY close (like sisters honestly) well we all grew up and moved away. Met up with one of my cousins after a few years of her in a major university. I didn’t recognize this woman AT ALL! Her morals, interests, speech, everything changed DRASTICALLY after being indoctrinated. It's shocking what they do and don't teach us in school about our histories. Growing up in Scotland we were taught nothing about Scottish history, it was all about 'The glorious British Empire', the World Wars and the Roman Empire.If Americans thought about it, the Republicans wanted a Republic which the South was opposed to since they would have to adopt freedom for all. Not that the Republicans were saints either but that was the way of the world back then.

I was in middle school living in Louisiana when David Duke, a "former" kkk leader, ran for governor of Louisiana. Fortunately, he did not win (came close though) even though he claimed that he changed. Black people didn't believe him, nor would they knowingly vote for a former kkk member. So, for the life of me, I can't understand why black people would knowingly vote for the "former" kkk party.

Well I don't know how well they teach it in school these days, but back in the early 2000's I did learn these things. In no way was it presented like this, but if you paid attention to all the little boring details in the history book, you could make the connections. But as a high-schooler following the roots of the Democrat and Republican parties weren't so important when you couldn't vote. So I would say most people didn't really pay attention and only know what they're told by the culture and messaging of the current political climate. But I know by memory at least a good chunk of the facts presented in that video were indeed in those high school history text books.
