    Very true, horns have limits. My first horn was an Olds Ambassador. After playing for a few years, I exceeded its abilities. I've played Yamaha, King and finally B&H. By then I realized I wasn't really very talented! But thats ok, I am happy being mediocre.

    Thanks Algirdas. I'm getting better at high notes. It's as you say, regular practice.

    the difference between cheap euphonium and pro is no longer big but reatift small But the small difference is that great musicians are after and that small differences mean a lot to a good musician

      Exactly buddy! Couldn't say any better! However, from my personal experience when you need certain extremes in volume as an example, that's where you find that edge useful. When I play with River City the volume required to deliver the sound the conductor is requiring is immense and I've tried using various horns in rehearsals, that's where the top line instruments shine, just to name an example. However, for huge chunk of players those edges would never come into need, so why overspend money. Great point Ted!

    Why do you prefer to read Bb treble?

    • @gg_0nr941
      @gg_0nr941 Год назад

      Because of his work in brass bands. All instruments besides tuba and bass trombone are forced to read treble, I dont remeber the reason why but thats how all of them are and as a euphonium player you should be able to read Bb treble, Bass clef and tenor clef because believe it or not euph plays in all of those very very often

    Can you tell about that black strap on your left hand. Does it help you to hold the instrument?

    • @Matonizz
      @Matonizz  7 лет назад

      Sure! It's QHR hand strap. It does to certain extent, probably adds another 15/20 minutes of playing before my hand gets tired but does not fix the problem completely. However, it's pretty cheap and it does help to play longer without fatiguing your shoulder. Hope that helps Tone!

    Is the Besson Sovereign BE967 a professional euphonium?

    What are your thoughts on the Besson 2052 prestige? I'm planning to get one in a few week and I was wondering if you had any experience with it or if you could give me some more info? Thanks

      I've played one for many years. One of my favorite horns if you get a good one. Sometimes the quality varies but definitely a good choice. I will do a review on Besson soon my friend. Best, A

    Are there different limitations for marching baritones/euphoniums? I play on a Jupiter marching baritone the most and when I try to play the 2nd Bb above the staff in bass clef it's so incredibly sharp that it's an Ab

      Whoops not sharp I meant flat

      @@seansutherland6270 Are you sure? The open partials get quite close together up there. There is an open Ab, Bb, C, D, and so on.
