What's great about Conan and the animals is that in the face of danger Conan turns the situation into humor. Conan is also very helpful and quickly gains control over situations with the animals.
He controlled that snake very well, you could see he is very experienced and pushed the "strike" back casually with the well placed snake stick not even looking at the animal. There was really no reason to react.
Skunks are actually pretty cute critters. I always thought they were cool looking rodents, but I guess they’re mustelidae like badgers and they’re even carnivores! That’s a surprising fact to me.

SKUNKS ARE CUTE one night like 2am in the mourning me and my friend were hanging out on her porch, and outta nowhere a skunk just walks infront of us and stops and stairs, my friend and i stop talking and just stair back at it afriad to scare it. then it just runs off it was soo cute we started chasing it and it did even spray us. after the when ever we hung out we left the skunk french fries and junk and watch it from afar eating it. it was soo F'n cute
I’m not an animal expert but I can tell that the way they handled that snake was totally wrong. That was animal abuse to get the snake upset enough to be striking and it’s incredibly dangerous!

What bothers me is that every time a wild cat is brought on Conan gets aggressive with the animal then when the poor animal reacts Conan threatens the animal with a pen and complains about the animal and has suggested that the animal be tranquilized. Conan hisses at the wild cats, grabs them, puts his face next to the animals' faces.

When a kid jumps a rail at a zoo and puts his hand at the cage of a leopard, then the leopard bites the kid the parents who don't restrain the kid sue the zoo. It's always the animal's fault.
You don't care about the impact that something as big as Conan has. If he says something, even the smallest thing sometimes, it's publicized literally all over the world. Even in comedy, if you watch some episodes where he is making dark humor about mistreating animals, the audience and even the guest ie Jarod Miller get upset. Conan quickly covers it up and says, "I'm just joking. It's what I do. But seriously, you do take good care of the animals, right? There is a delicate balance between comedy and making public messages.
